Not sure if anyone has already mentioned this, but the menu has changed at Auberge - it's full table service now, and costs 20 euros for a child and 48 euros for an adult!!! :scared1: BUT it is now a Prince and Princess character meal!!! :cheer2:

Raptor posted this bit of information on the magicforum

"Suzy and Perla (the 2 mice from Cinderella) welcome guests at l'Auberge. Other Royal Couples will make an appearance as well, like Phillip & Aurora, Prince Charming & Cinderella, Belle & the Beast or Royal Mickey & Minnie. During the royal's visit, l'Auberge will be filled with music and dance, even the smaller kids can have a dance with one of the characters."

and here is the menu :) Not sure if this is just in the evening, or lunch as well - but I'm sure we will find out more soon.

That is fantastic news, I bet it will be very popular.

Princesses are bug business so it is good news for all the little girls out there but it is expensive. I dont think my DS would sit through all that girly going on though :lmao:

Well, this really is overdue and sounds fabulous, I'm sure a lot of girls will be very happy - well done DLRP, not so sure about the menu though - 48 euros is a lot of money for a cocktail, slipper and coffee which is all I fancy on it. :rotfl2:

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

no!!!!!

WDW ruined some very good places by turning them into character meals (Akershus, for instance)

Auberge de Cendrillion was my favourite table service place. What a shame.

I'm not trying to take away from those who like character meals, and DLRP DOES have a good number of table service places, but the variety at Auberge was better than most, and I enjoyed a large range of veggie items there.

 :headache:   :headache:

Thanks for the update, this is one of the places I wanted to try.

Tell me, do the speaking characters all speak English?

I love this I was hoping that they would do a princess meal. This is a must do for our next visit

I'm sorry that your favourite restaurants are being taken over by princesses!! I also really liked the Akershus, and though I wasn't bothered when they started the Princess Breakfasts, I was certainly less than thrilled when lunch and dinner went the same way!

I'm in two minds about the change at Auberge de Cendrillon. I, personally, wouldn't pay that much money, even for my two lovely DDs, to meet some princesses!! But I know from posts on these boards that this is something that people have really wanted at DLP and so I'm very pleased for them - I just wish it wasn't so overpriced.

I like the idea and I know my DD would be over the moon. :thumbsup2

However...
I don't know which to be more disapointed by the price :scared: or the very limited choices on the menu :sad2:
However I think many parents will feel presured to take their children especially all the mini princesses, and DLP know they're going to make lots of money from this.

I'll be pleased if they make ONE meal period a character meal. The problem at Akershus is that it is now all princess, all the time.....

Personally, I think that there could be a balance ie offer the character meal at lunch, and no princesses at dinner when the park is open later.

I'm not overly impressed with the menu but I love the idea of a character meal with the princesses. We've never endured the queues so far to meet them so I'd prefer to do it this way. It is a bit pricey though.

There is nothing on the menu that I would say was worth spending 48 euros on and my kids tend to not eat that much at character meals with all the distractions. Thats why I love the Plaza Gardens tea party as you get the characters and it is very well priced.

It is a shame it will loose some of its regulars but as I said before princesses are big business and there will be lots of kids who must go to this.

This is kind of Off Topic which is why I didn't mention it above but I am disgusted that Disney continue to offer Foie Gras on it's menus :sad2:

As others have said the Princess franchise is big business for Disney so I'm not surprised it has been added to DLP.
When the Frog Princess is released in 2009 it will I'm sure enhance the appeal.

Not been to this restaurant before and it does seem a little pricey ,but as a one off when you are are on holiday I would go for it as my DD would be in heaven , (and so would I if im been honest) would need to know what the kids menu is ,but anything involving malibu sounds good to me. Im going next year and leavind hubby behind so will book it for me and DD but anyone with hubbys and boys it might all be a bit to much

well, I finally went and actually looked at the menu (took me awhile! :rotfl: ) and it appears that lunch is still as it was - appy buffet, entree, and dessert buffet for 22 euros.

If someone is going soon and can confirm that, I will be happy.

That seems to be a reasonable compromise - ie not all princess, all the time.

Good to know :thumbsup2

For me this is bad news as now there is no restaurant anymore where I can eat Cinderellas slipper. After the slipper has dissapeared from the Walt's menu the Auberge was the only restaurant for us. We are two adults so a charcters menu is nothing for us!
But for all parents with daugthers from 3 -14 years this will be great!
Although it is very expensive! You can eat at the Inventions for 46€ (buffet) or at the California Grill for 48€ (the cheapest menu).
But I can't wait to see the first pictures of the characters inside the Auberge! :yay:

We have always been just adults... and have been to many character breakfasts/ dinners (even with princesses, see my DL dining review of last summer!)
