Bad news and good news at Auberge de Cendrillon

For us this is great news, we have never queued to get photos or autographs with the Disney princess and to have them in one restaurant (hopefully like cafe Mickey where they come to each table) will be great.
I hope they add more to the menu as the choice is poor, and despite the price this will be a definite for us in May (we will save 10% with our annual passes)
I have already told my daughter and she is already excited, I really hope it will be good.
Really looking forward to hearing reviews and seeing photos from anyone going soon.

I to would book it even though the menu is poor and it is very expensive, however Inventions is also not worth the price however still very popular.

just thinking if they turned Walts to a character meal I would be gutted so can understand how some people feel. Though the difference with WDW is that they already have other princess meals at MK and grand floridian, at DLRP they was nothing so I think that is why people feel it is good news.

breakfast would be good, though I love the calm atmosphere of Dinner at Walt's, and Walt's is DBF favourite thing about DLP, one of the reasons why he goes back.

I can sign your reply and I can understand your DBF opinion! It's the same with my DBF! He just loves Walt's Gourmet Burger! It is a MUST DO on every trip!

I can understand why so many people are bummed that l4auberge has changed to a character dinner.

However, I think it's the best restaurant in the park to have a princess dinner. It's Cinderella's restaurant!!!!!!!! I mean, it would be rather weird to find princesses at the Hakuna Matata restaurant, no?

And indeed, the price is a little high... but it's not higher than Manhattan restaurant or so (at l'Auberge, wine and water is included, as is a cocktail)

I will certainly try it out, this trip or on a later trip!!!

We went to this restaurant on Sunday, as a special treat for my DD as she was celebrating her 15th birthday, which isn't technically until the 30th April. I've not tried the restaurant before so can't compare it, however the food was good, and we had a great table right where the Princesses twirl round with the Prince which was nice. Girls are given tiaras and the boys a sword, which I thought was a lovely touch. The two mice were out when we went in, then after a bit they were called away to attend to the cooking. DD was delighted when Belle (her favourite) came out with Cinderella, as we had assumed it would just be Cinderella!

Having seen photos of the Cinderella Slipper this pudding is slightly different in that it was a white chocolate slipper on a plate with a '15' chocolate balanced on the top, then a separate chocolate basket 'tower' filled with mousse, and a strawberry meringue thing and a little pile of chopped fresh fruit stuff, all very yummy. It's difficult to describe, but we did take a photo which I will find and upload sometime.

Down sides were that our table rocked, which they sorted when I pointed it out, and I had to ask 3 times for some cutlery so that I could eat my meal! I wasn't offered any wine either, not that I particularly wanted any, it would have been nice to be offered it, that's all. Service was quite slow, but that didn't bother us as we weren't in any hurry anyway, and wanted to enjoy the ambience. They also brought out a birthday cake for DD and sang to her, which I suppose is an upside, except that we didn't order a cake (we actually refused one when we were offered it when we reserved!). Anyway it was quickly taken away when I said, not before we sneaked in a photo of her with it, along with the Fairy Godmother

The CMs were very good at ensuring the children stayed at their tables, and the Princesses moved round the room, though as usual they didn't bother with us (other than a wave) being as we are "adults"

(We find that this is the case with everything). We did persuade our waiter to give us a tiara each though

We wouldn't eat there again, mainly due to cost, it was a nice treat for a birthday, but in future we would rather eat at Annettes for half the price!

We ate at Auberge last year and I was rather disappointed with the whole thing, I'd booked it particularly for my 3 year old niece, but I felt it was rather grown up and starchy. My feelings were that it was crying out for a Prince/Princess Character meal and as Sandra says where better to host the Princesses but here, personally I'd like to see the dwarves, fairy godmother and even the relevent baddie present too.
I can understand that the buffet meal wouldn't be a good idea with the characters present, space was limited around the buffet tables as it was when we were there, but I don't understand the chosen menu - if I'm lucky enough to take my niece again I wouldn't hesitate to book it for the experience alone, but there is nothing on the menu that appeals to me (apart from the cocktail , which usually set me back 7.50 euros or thereabouts)

oh no baddies please! My DD is prettified by the Baddies and wanted to leave Cafe Mickey during our last trip as they was a baddie present, quite a few kids reacted the same way!

here is the menu.

We both had the salmon for the starter, which was lovely, DD is vegetarian but she does eat fish.

For the main course I had the veal, I like my meat well done and asked if it was cooked, I was told it was. It did seem to be faintly tinged pink on the inside but it was so yummy that I just kept going

DD had the pasta, which was also yummy (I tried a bit).

that is a whole new slipper now! The old one was filled with black chocolate cream! This is "only" chocolate now!

They were complaining that they had waited a long time for this to arrive, which suggests to me that there had been tables booked some time before ours.

If by "black chocolate cream" you mean mousse then this is piled in the chocolate 'tower' basket, with the dried fruit slice on top, it was very rich!

I rang reservations today to try and book an evening at the beginning of June and was told the prince and princess meal bookings were between 11.30am - 3.30pm only no evening slots.
