Bad News About Liberty Tree

I know some of you will be upset by this, I know I was. We found out today that as of January 5, 2009 Liberty Tree Tavern will no longer be a character meal at all.

If that's true, I'm actually happy. There are too many character meals on property right now.

That is bad news - I just did it for the first time in April with my 4 year old nephew and was he excited. I have to admit that I also took a pic with Chip and Dale as they are adorable. I would hope that they would have those characters go elsewhere though as the kids really did like that combination.

We were not given as a reason as of yet. I am a dining CM. We cannot accept any reservations there with characters after January 4th.

That is great news!! We usually only do lunch at LT because we don't do character meals. This is a nice option for dinner for us now. Normally we just eat at the Plaza for dinner. Thanks for the update!

I saw a post about this a couple of nights ago. I am quite sad about it. This is our first nights tradition to go here on every single trip. My ds LOVES it and no way would we go there without the characters. I hope Disney gets a kick in the pants to change their minds.

They seem to be making HORRIBLE choices lately about anything involving dining. Really sad!!

that is horrible news!!! that is one of the best character meals on property. not only is the food fantastic, the character interaction was great. and especially before the parties (MNSSHP and MVMCP). this is sad

I sure hope this isn't a pull back from the whole colonial Americana theme...I know it overlapped nicely with the Bi-Cenntienial in 1976, but its still sweet and darn it its nice to see something that celebrates classic America! Some bean-counter probably decided that it was "dated" or not "diverse" enough....seems to me it was always busy......

You know this is the 3rd thread I've seen about this issue and the other 2 have been closed. There has been no official announcement that anyone can link, but if it is the case, I will miss it. It is one of DH's favorite meals, and it is a tradition to go there for a traditional meal for our Christmas trip.

Disney Dine, I remember last year they had stopped calling everyone to the podium for their reservation by state and so forth. Did they give a reason for this change that you recall?

This is true. They do not need to keep closing these threads. Most people won't even look at the rumor boards. They need to get the word out.

He said that is absolutely not true.

They hear all the rumors and this one he has never heard


He said this is his favorite Character Meal, as well.


I am hoping he is right, as this is our favorite character meal, too

I love how laid back and calm it is in there in comparison to some of the other ones which are so rowdy.

I am afraid the CM you got was misinformed. Several posters have been told of the change by Disney CM's. Also, you will see that the OP is a dining CM. Be aware that there are changes to GG as well.

No lunch or breakfast starting I think it was October. Go over to the rumor board. They had a few threads about it that were moved.

Not to be the devil's advocate here, but 2 days ago, there was someone on here claiming to be a Dining CM who started a thread about untrue changes to the DDP. So, just because they say they know what they are talking about, don't make it so.
