Bad Mood and Eating Habits

Blah! I am just in a really bad mood today. I might have normally used this as an excuse to eat whatever I wanted (the thought has crossed my mind a few times today and the day is not even over) but instead I have been forcing myself to continue making better choices. They have not been fantastic choices but they were legal choices on my plan. (Muffin (6 pts) instead or a sausage/cheese croissant or biscuits and gravy; KFC chicken strips and mashed potatoes (11 pts) instead of a big burger and fries or a fried fish platter, etc.).

The think is that I have found myself almost feeling "mad" or "annoyed" at myself about making the better decisions. It is like the old, poor choice making me is still trapped inside and is really PO'd that this healthier version of myself still has control even when I am in a bad mood.

I am hoping that when I get in a better mood I can take comfort in the fact that so far today I have kept it together. I also hope this all pays off on Monday because I really want to lose a pound and get my 35 lb. clippie -- then I can feel proud!

Good for you, Becka! (Now show me how! ;) )

I hope your mood gets better as the day goes on.

Becka,

Keep up the good work!!! Sometimes we can definitely be our own worst enemy!!! We test ourselves and when we pass, we feel REALLY good...and when we fail, well, maybe it's just the kick in the pants we need and we get up and fight even harder!

You can win this battle and your reward is going to be that 35 pound clippie!!! How cool is THAT? I can't even imagine being anywhere near that, so don't give up or give in!!! :)

Your clippie inspires me...as do you, and I'm only on day 3...so please tell that angry voice that you don't care what they think!!!

Now, on a humorous note, when you told your story, I totally envisioned you as Kronk with a good Kronk and a bad Kronk on his shoulders...but I'm sure you look nothing like him!!! LOL

You can do it!!!

Karen :smooth:

Good for you Becka! That's something I'm still trying to break myself of -- eating when in a bad mood, bored, or out of habit. Good for you for breaking that! Is there an allowed treat you could give yourself? I don't know if sugarfree candies or something are allowed? You deserve a treat :)

i have been there! especially PMS - I just kept thinking "I can't wait until I'm on maintainence so I can just eat some junk food!"

now, I do eat junk food some, it's not like I'm totally junk-free, just ask my PM buddies. BUT - I found myself grumpy that I was choosing NOT to eat it at that moment!

tomorrow is a new day! making good choices just put you a babystep closer to your goal instead of two giant steps backward by cheating!!

Becka, I am so impressed by you!! You have had victory after victory lately!!! YOU ROCK!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc Just think!! A couple of weeks ago, you were at 25 and now you are almost ready to get your 35 pound clippie!!! You are movin' on!!!

It is sooooo hard for us to outtalk that bad voice in our heads and stay on track. Especially when our mood is bad. No matter what "evil" Becka is trying to say to you, you are AWESOME!!! "Evil" Becka is just mad because she is sugar and fatty food deprived--she will come around eventually!! ;)

Congratulations on your choices!!! Keep up the good work!
