Just to clear things up, I don't have kids. And if I did, they would certainly know not to do/try drugs. I am just fighting for what I believe in. I am petitioning against this because of the sake of kids whose parents have not taught them the dangers smoking causes. I respect everyones opinions, so you should respect mine.

What are little kids doing on the DIS anyways? I mean, I'm a teen and dude, I haven't noticed this until you brought it up.

And most people might want to eliminate these smilies because:
It encourages them to join a broadway musical.
It encourages them to dance like a maniac and dress up like a banana.
It encourages kids to set themsleves on fire.
It encourages kids to drive without a seatbelt.
I think this one speaks for itself.

AngienLuLu, I couldn't help but notice that you're a newbie, you've posted 50 times, you don't contribute financially to the support of TheDis, and yet you want to tell Pete how to run his board?

If you don't like that particular smilie, don't use it. Most of the smilies have come about because Disers have requested them. I'd like to see a smilie, holding a sign, reading "Get a Life".

And I don't ever have the intintion (sp?) of being rude, but you have no idea of what my family's financal life is like. We could be extreamly rich, or we could live on a low income. Blown out of proportion? forgive me....I am still reading on the first page of this thread.....maybe by the time I get to the end of it this, the matter will be blown out of proportion (not sure why but it does seam like a lot of people like to argue on a thread that is about the happest place on earth ) From what I have read so far the OP asked a simple request....if you agree with her add your name to her patition. A lot of people nicely refused.

So far yours is the first post that is really angery ....it if does get blown out of proprotion you should look back to your post to see why it got blown out of proportion.

I just wanted to say that I think on a board where so many complain about the way teenagers act, it is sad that this teen is trying to do something that she sees as helping others and people are being rude and she has been nothing but polite. Agree with her or disagree, but at least treat her as respectfully as she is treating you.

I would like to start a petition to create the "I'm sure you are lovely, but you might not have enough to do, and it may be worthwhile to look for some hobbies or something" smilie. I suggest perhaps a smilie sitting on a lawn chair with a pina colada and a romance novel?

I got a very kind PM from the OP, (and although I agreed to keep her age a secret ), I find her unbelievably mature for her *very* tender years. She has handled all replies with a lot of grace and respect, and I think we could at least reciprocate. It's fine to disagree with her--she knows I do--but there's nothing wrong with doing it respectfully. Just an honest opinion.

I am also drug free but have nothing bad to say about I actually think he's kinda cute! I don't think teens are really that easily influenced to see and say hey I should try that. I think they are more easily influenced by seeing all of their friends smoke then by a icon they see on disboards.
