We just returned from Disney. We were in MK on Friday night and had a bad encounter with line cutters on It's A Small World. I was in line with my 2 kids behind a family of three. Before I knew it 3 more people came pushing by with out saying a word. I said, "You can say excuse me". Well, then one of the family members said, "we have more and more coming and there is nothing you can do about it." Well, after about 15 more family members came by I went and told a cast member. They did nothing. Then the family member continued to say not so nice things to me in front of my kids. I told the cast member again, who did nothing. By the time it was our turn to load the boat, my kids were in tears scared to get on the boat behind the family. I told them I was not going to load. The let two boats load and then loaded my family. I was told that they were going to call security. When it was time to unload, some of the family members were waiting for me to get off the boat. A 20 year old cast member said, " Do you want me to escort you out?" I told him no. If he feels it was bad enough to give me an escort, why did they not call security? This family was completely out of line and disrespectful to my family as well as to cast members. We ended up leaving MK after that because my kids were so upset. It makes me wonder, how well are disney cast members trained on this matter?

She gave them a no-no look and that was it. She was older. When I told her that they were "taunting" my family said asked what I wanted her to do. They were already on the boat by this point. I told her by not doing something, it was sending the message that it was okay for them to do things like this. I was the one that told her that I would not load behind the family.

I'm sorry that you had to experience that situation. Some people are just gross human beings.

When it was time to unload, some of the family members were waiting for me to get off the boat.

At that point, I would have refused to leave the dock until security arrived. I would have had absolutely no problem screaming at the top of my lungs for help. A guest should absolutely not have to put up with physical intimidation. The other family would have been escorted out of the park or I would know the reason why, trust me.

What the heck is wrong with people? Sorry for the bad experience. Karma will come back and bite them.

Sounds very stressful. Sorry that happened to you!!

I have no insight into what actual CM training is but I suspect that it has to go far beyond rude and menacing, closer to potential for violence or injury, before they are trained to trigger a security related response.

There are many guests who are total jerks -- a small percentage overall -- but enough to make some encounters scary. CMs probably become desensitized to the everyday hostility they see (not saying they should, just thinking they have a higher threshold for jerks than the rest of us).

For them to be waiting for you at the end of the ride and the cm to not help by calling security is really upsetting. To think of how upsetting already to "have" to let them cut you in line with that attitude and then that? Your poor kids! Trashy people! I would have insisted on security. How scary to think that they were after you. Omg. There is no place for feeling that insecure let alone it being WDW! Makes me scared and angry for you. Arrrgh! Wretched people!

Wow, thats horrible! Im sorry you had to experience that and sorry that your kids were so upset...some people are just crazy!

Wow, that is just awful.

I would encourage you to contact Guest services with as many details of the interaction as possible (such as time, any CM's names you recall, etc) so that they can address this type of situation for future guests to not have to go thru the same thing.

Wow, that's awful. I'm so sorry that happened to you. I had a similar, but way less scary, encounter with a smaller group of line cutters at TSM on our last trip. The worst part was that we kept running in to them throughout the day and my heart started to race every time. Did you happen to stop at guest relations on the way out? I would have at least let them know since you did involve the cast members and the CMs didn't help you.

I hope the rest of your trip was great :grouphug:

So sorry about your horrible experience. We once had a terrible one too, we were on the boat and the man next to me who was obviously drunk started swearing at me. We got up to leave and a CM asked us why we were getting off the attraction before the ride, and I explained the situation. He took us to the top where my son got to "steer the boat" and ring the bell. Nothing happened to the two intoxicated men. I think part of the problem is that many of the CMs are young and are intimidated by the rude guests. Not sure how much training they receive.

What LOSERS. May all of their future DW trips be filled with rain.. :thumbsup2

Oh my goodness. This is terrible. I think security should have been called when they were waiting for you to get off the ride. That must have been so scary for your children. I would have lost it on those people. People can be so nasty. And I find it disturbing that the CM did nothing when they were waiting for you to get off the ride. I'm sorry you and your children had to go through that. I hope the rest of your trip was enjoyable despite this disturbing incident.

How terrible. Not only did you have to deal with that, you also had to suffer through IASW!

;)

(JK; I love IASW)

I am a firm believer in Karma.
They will get proper retribution someday.

Sounds like an awful experience.

As a past fantasyland cm I can say we didn't get training on cutters BUT I never tolerated that at all. It depends on the cm. CMs have a lot to deal w loading guests and little problems to big problems. Did you go to guest services? I'm sorry this happened to you. I got yelled at a lot for not dealing w cutters so I know how I would feel. Karma will get them....

That's just awful. Nobody should have to be afraid of other guests in Fantasyland.

THIS. I personally find the reaction of the CM you dealt with atypical and unsatisfactory- I would talk to Guest Relations as soon as you can. Call them or stop by if you're still there. That sort of thing is just not acceptable, and letsp eople know they can get away with that sort of crap.
