I'm in the same boat! My sciatica flared up on me earlier in the week and it doesn't seem to be going away (we leave in 2 days!!!!) I haven't been to the gym as much lately, which is probably the problem! I find that it'll actually be my hip that causes my sciatica to flare up! I'm going to my yoga class today so that should help! Hopefully I can get to the gym a little earlier and ride the bike for a bit to loosen things up a little before.

I find that sitting is the worst for it. Once I get moving I'm alright, I'm just going to have to stretch in the morning and before bed. I know that if I take care of myself I'll be able to get it under control. The only thing I'm really dreading is the flight!

We have a layover in Denver for a coupe hours, would anyone suggest going to one of those massage joints in there? If not I might just have to do some yoga while waiting for my next flight. :lmao:

:goodvibes Hope your back improves dramatically before your birthday trip!
It's no fun to have back difficulties. When you improve enough so that you can, swimming is just about the best thing I've found. It provides good muscle exercise while taking most of the pressure and weight off your back. Mine's been in pretty bad shape, and if I can manage to get into the pool, it usually helps. I've dealt with scoliosis since I was 12, sciatic nerve problems since I was early 20's, and then broke it at age 27!! Once you get to the point that you can get around, the combination of a regular walking program and swimming is great to keep the muscles strong.

We had friends with us this December as day trippers, and he needed a scooter. We were in Epcot. They came in the main entrance, none were left there and he was told that there were "a few" at the World Showcase entrance. They would not call and reserve him one...he had to get there and hope that one of the few would still be available. I am amazed that Disney gets away with such poor customer service. The fellow had a very hard time walking, the story has a good ending, he got one, but really...I expect better service from Disney...they should have "held" one for him to be sure. Even a 1/2 hour hold would have been appreciated.

But Disney's policy on ECV and wheelchair rentals - a service, by the way, they are not required to provide* - is that they do not hold, or reserve, any. It's entirely first-come, first-serve. Period.

In the instance above, another member of that Guest's party could have gone to the International Gateway entrance to rent the ECV, and ridden it back to where the friend was waiting.
