I'm looking for information on the tour that would show you what goes on in the Magic Kingdom (underground tunnels, etc.). Does anyone know what that would be called, how much it costs for DVC members, and if it's worth it. We'll be at BWV in October, and I don't know if I need to make reservations for a tour. Thanks!

I did Keys to the Kingdom tour in January. It was GREAT!!!! I can't remember the cost but I did get a DVC discount. If you are interested in how the MK really works and don't think the Magic will be lost once you know the truth I would HIGHLY recommend this tour.

There are two different tours that include the utilidors at the MK. One is the Keys to the Kingdom Tour and one is the Disney Backstage Magic tour. The Keys to the Kingdom is just Magic Kingdom, but the BAckstage Magic is for MK, Epcot, and MGM. We sometimes get DVC discounts on some tours, but not sure what is in effect right now. When you call to reserve the tour, they will tell you if there are discounts available for either DVC members or AP holders.

We also did the Keys to the Kingdom tour with the DVC discount (I forget now what it was) but we loved the tour, well worth it!

The Keys to the kingdom tour will be a couple of hours, but the Backstage Magic tour is 7-8 hours. We LOVE the BM tour! We have done it three times, and it was different each time.

Not to hijack this thread but can you tell us more about the BM tour? Do they take you between parks or are there BMTs for each park?

Thanks!

I called earlier this week to make reservations for some of the tours.

We're going on the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. It lasts 4 1/2 to 5 hours and includes lunch from CHH. Starting times are 8:30 am, 9:00 am, and 9:30 am. You pre-pay with a credit card. I read that the regular price is $58. I had told her I have DVC, AP, and Disney Visa. She said Disney Visa was currently the best discount (and it wasn't listed on the DV website). Our final cost was $48 each. The number is 1-407-WDW-TOURS (1-407-939-8687). You'll need a photo ID when you take the tour.

Off topic, but we are also going on the AK Backstage Safari Tour. It is at 8:30 am on Mon, Wed, Thur, & Fri and lasts 3 hours (no lunch). Regular price is $65 each, we were charged $52 each with the Disney Visa discount.

Keys to the Kingdom was awesome. Book the early time and you get in before the rush! It was so cool to see mainstreet empty.
Since we don't have kids, I felt that we had kind of "outgrown" MK if the nephews weren't with us....but I have a whole new appreciation since the tour. I'll do it again soon!
