Figured I would start a thread, since InstImpres may be going on this date too. We have our deposit down, so barring major catastrophe we will be there! We are already looking at flights, as it's very messy flying from CA to FL due to the distance and 3 hour time difference to get home. Most of the flights have at least one stop, so you end up getting to FL very late. At this point, we're leaning towards a red eye so we can just sleep.

Can't wait for the official itinerary to be released, as the info. I've heard so far sounds awesome. :thumbsup2

Yes, but we're next door to WDW, hence the flight from CA back home to FL! (I fixed the post to indicate I meant the flight home.)

Do you mind sending me a PM as to what this trip roughly costs? It sounds like it would be great, but I can't find any details or pricing for this one. I did see it is 18 and up... Thanks so much!

Adventutres By Disney has not yet released pricing for this or any of the other 2008 Adventures.

Pricing should be released on August 30th.

We put a deposit down for July. We = Me + DH + DS (6 years old)

His age was fine. They said they would not show him anything backstage that we should worry about.

According to Mousesavers website, the only dates that require adults 18 years and older are as follows:
Apr 29 - May 04
Sep 16 - Sep 21
Dec 9 - Dec 14

Because they limit each date to 40 guests, it's a good idea to book early so that you get the exact dates you want.

Since the other dates are being mentioned here...
I've got a deposit down for Dec 9-14. Anyone else?

Hi all ... My daughter (18) and I are down for the August 12-17 Backstage Magic tour. We did London/Paris June 29/July 6 2007 and it was fantastic. Iwant to subscribe to this thread so that when you folks get back, I can hear about all the fun stuff we will get to see and do!

Kids can definitely go...I called today just to make sure that we didn't have to do anything else to confirm our trip, and the agent was joking with me about the fact that it's just hubby and I.

I'm just sitting here drooling over the itinerary...I am a HUGE Turtle Talk fan, so the private viewing is right up my alley. I sure hope they give a little backstage peak. Also, we just got back from the transatlantic Disney cruise and I met the manager of the Napa Rose restaurant (he was doing wine tastings and cooking demos), so I'm hoping to be able to say "hi" to him when we're there.

How was the crossing? Was it as rough as May seemed to be? We are on the August/08 Repo from LA to Florida. We are booked on the Backstage Magic tour right before the cruise. I just signed up for DVC and got the triple points, so the Adventure is paid for! I'm thinking of going down a few days earlier and visiting Universal Hollywood, and other spots not on the tour! Can't wait! 11 months, 1 week and 2 days to go!!!!! It is going to be extra fun, as the last day of the tour and the first day of the cruise is my daughter's 18th birthday. Time to embarass the heck out of her!!!

The crossing back was like glass! Totally smooth and great weather, with only a couple of drizzly/rainy periods...I sure hope that your cruise next year is as good as this one was. Different area, I know, but ours should be the model for ALL repo cruises! Since I'm on that cruise with you next year, too, maybe I will bring along some leftover good luck :thumbsup2

Aghhh! I just can't decide!!! We have had a 7 night double dip booked for late Sept '08 - an ADULT'S ONLY cruise - and I have been REALLY looking forward to this. Our last cruise DD1 didn't permit us to do many of the adults-only activities onboard (like the pool, the spa, and just relaxing on deck 4, not to mention relaxing on Castaway Cay 2x!) BUT now I have to decide between the cruise and the Backstage Magic. We've done DCL a few times but really enjoy it. We've never been to Disneyland and to experience the magic backstage just sounds perfect. What to do???????

Here is how I would look at it:

The cruise line ain't going nowhere! With two ships coming on line, DCL is here for the long haul.

Here in FL, I saw a couple of backstage tours disappear very, very quickly before I could ever take them. From my exploration of the internet, DL is more tightfisted about backstage access than WDW...not sure if it's true, but I've found a few posts about that. I hope this tour is around for the long term, too, but having seen backstage tours that I've wanted to take get discontinued, I'm not going to take the risk that this one might go that way too (or be significantly altered).
