Backpacks

I've done solo days at Disneyland and did never took a backpack. It may not be necessary.

Yeah, it might not be, but especially with the idea that I can just drop this stuff in a locker, better to have and not need than to need and not have. I don't really have a hotel to go back to, so once I'm out, I'm basically out.

Have a backpack and a smaller bag for essentials. Store the big back pack in a locker and enjoy touring with a lighter bag.

Totally agree with this. If you are bringing extra clothes for later in the day, use a locker for all those items. Less weight to carry around during the day and when you start to feel "disgusting" :), then get the stuff out of the locker. One suggestion - take a washcloth along. As you are changing, wet the washcloth and run over exposed parts of your body. It really makes you feel so much better.

I'll actually be at Disneyland, so I'm basically looking at Splash Mountain and Grizzly River Run (which I understand to be pretty similar to Kali) that I have to worry about. I did find that Splash got me quite a bit more wet at DLR than the MK version -- not sure why, but while with the MK version I might get a little wet, my daughter might as well have jumped in a pool when we went on the DL version. I could literally wring her clothes out. :)

I have heard they can control the amount of splash on Spash Mountian. I do not think Grizzly River was open when we were there but I do remember my son totally drenched on Kali.

After many trips of being given everything to carry I am now down to a small backpack and DH carries his own. I might take a shirt and flip flops for GRR. At the end of the day a full back pack was too much.

They do. When it falls below a certain temperature (I believe 70) they turn the cannons off on the big drop at the end. I rode it once when it was 55 out (only person on my boat) and I didn't get as wet.
