OK, This is the first time we'll be bringing along a backpack w/ our jackets and other warm clothes for evenings at the parks. What do people do w/ these????

I don't really want to put it in a locker as then it won't be handy when we potentially need it. Especially at EPCOT! But if we wear it around the park...what do we do w/ it when we go on rides? :confused3 Does a std size backpack fit at your feet/in your lap? Seems to me I sometimes had trouble finding room for my purse! LOL

We have a stroller, and usually leave a very small diaper bag in it's storage area when we go on rides w/ no problems...but I'm hesitant to leave a backpack full of sweatshirts, cozy pants, hats, etc in a stroller. Have these sort of things been "lifted" from strollers?????

Please let me know what you have done...and how it's worked out! Thank you!!! Only 5 more days for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :earseek:

5 days! Woo Hoo for you! I went with a very full backpack a few months ago. We rode all of the rides and never had a problem with it. We just put it on the floor under our legs. I can't remember it every bothering me. So, I'd say, no worries! If you do go on the Kali River in AK, don't put it on the floor or it will get soaked. I kind of held it off of the floor with my legs and it was fine.

Have a great time! :cool1:

We never had a problem the backpack. And believe me. . . my little sis 14 looks like a pack mule when she carries it. But with DD2 you have to bring almost everything BUT the sink!!! But I hope to be able to down size on our next trip because. . . . . We can POTTY in the POTTY!!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I ALWAYS bring a backpack to Disney theme parks and I've NEVER had a problem with it on rides, etc. There is usually room. Occasionally you have to find some creative place to put it (like Rockin' Roller Coaster, down by my feet worked, with one foot looped through a strap just in case). Usually it's no problemo.

We were there two weeks ago and I had a backpack with me and it was very easy to carry around and bring on rides, no problems at all. Once in awhile if we were going to be at a park all day and evening I would pull the sweatshirts for the evening in a locker or whatever toys my kids purchased as well. Made my backpack lighter.

Have a great time. I wish I was still there:cool1:

WDW is good with being able to store your backpack on rides. Sometimes it's a nit tight but it will fit.

I have always brought a backpack with me - even before I had kids. Now with kids, I couldn't live without it. In it goes my wallet, camera, sunglasses, diapers, sippy cups, small snacks, wipes, disposable placemats, sunscreen, extra clothes for the kid in diapers, hats, etc. I don't leave it on the stroller when we go into rides. It does hang on the stroller when we are walking about, though. I have brought it on every ride I've been on with NO problems (including Tower of Terror, Test Track, Aerosmith's Rockin' RollerCoaster, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, etc.) It's not a problem! No worries!

I've never had a problem with leaving sweatshirts in our stroller. I always have my money and any other valuables on me. I always leave sweatshirts and snacks under my stroller with no problem.

I know I should probably knock on wood for this, but I have always left our backpacks on the stroller with everything in it except our wallets. Never had anybody take anything. Last trip DS left Pal Mickey and his pin lanyard on the stroller numerous times and nobody took that either, I think we were very lucky with that, and I kept yelling at him to not leave it on the stroller but he kept forgetting.

I have never had a problem with backpacks on rides. Even on RnR coaster and ToT, I just looped the straps through one leg, and it was fine. Or maybe ToT had a net to put your belongings in? I forget. Either way, you should be ok. Have fun!

We carried a JanSport backpack with us throughout our trip, and no problems on the rides! If you sling it over your shoulders, carrying the bag in hte front; you'll face absolutely no trouble.

My DH carries our family backpack and he has never had any problem with it on any of the rides. Have a fantastic time on your trip! :)

Great info...I hadn't even thought far enough ahead to worry about our back pack...we'll be with my DS 2 and DD 5 but I swear my DH is the one who requires the most stuff!

Actually there is a place to store backpacks, on the raft ride. In the middle of the raft there is storage, the plastic lifts up and you can store it in there so it stays dry.
