Backpacks on rides?

I bring my backpack on all rides, there's plenty of room for it. The only place that has lockers near rides is Kali River Rapids, and it might be smart to use that one to keep all your stuff dry because on that ride your options for your back pack are by your feet or on your lap, both of which are likely to get wet.

I had problems on Space Mountain, but managed to have it with me on that ride as well. No issues on anything else. Just put my foot through the strap on some of the thrill rides and I was good.

A tip that has always worked for us, is that I pack a folded up ZiplockXXL bag in my backpack. Then for Kali or Splash or whatever I open the XXL Ziplock bag that has a handle, drop in our backpack, camera, phones then zip it up and viola. I just let it ride wherever in the raft or log. Works like a charm and doesn't take much space in my bag.

I use a crossbody but yes backpacks are obviously allowed on the rides as well.

I've taken a backpack on that ride dozens of times and never had any problems at all.

I like to keep my stuff with me (including park purchases, and those bags can get big!) so have not once used a locker (except the free ones by Kali for 10 minutes to ride). Never had any issues.

It's just that I'm on the bigger size, so squeezing my backpack in the floor of the vehicle was a little challenging. But I managed.

I have never used lockers. I ride everything and the backpack goes on everything. I thought of a locker for Kali, but it is a pain and costs too much, IMO. I keep the jackets and everything else in the backpack. I love that Disney does not require lockers. Very convenient.

Disney provides FREE FREE FREE lockers at Kali. They are free for the first 2 hours. They are located on the left just past the entrance to Kali before the Fountain that all the kids are fascinated by

I have two medium size backpacks that we're going to take in December for 4 people. This will (in theory) allow only two people to have to carry things, giving the other two a break from being the pack mule. It should also (in theory ) keep me from overpacking for the parks, since there are only two bags to work with!
