Which is better to use? I have always used a backpack, I do need to get a new one. Problem is mine tends to get heavey and hurts my back. This year I am going to buy a new one, and under no condition am I going to be the keeper for everyone else.....:( My poor back can just not take it. thinking of getting a sling bag, has anyone used one before? Can it hold my small video camera? TIA

For our recent trip I purchased and used a sling pack from Old Navy. Even though it was just my wife and I , the variable temps (40's in the am 60's in the afternoon), filled the pack up with our changes of clothing and I still had to rent a locker some days. I see that you are not going for a little while though, so weather may not be a factor. A sling pack should fit your video camera, a light jacket, some snacks, etc. It even has a small pocket on the front for smaller items that can be easily accessed.

Depends when you are going. If you don't need extra clothes a small bag is great. I always take the bare essentials in a small bag and that way noone else can load my bag up with all their stuff, they have to carry it themselves!!

Are you M or F? I'm your a woman you can carry a small backpack. Last Year I took a Vera Bradley Mimi backpack and it was wonderful that is what I'm taking again this year, You can fit like a sony digital video camera in it. or a couple of bottles of water.

I highly rcommnd the fanny/back pack I bought for our last trip... tons of support and it can be caried in 4 configurations.

1) wear it as a small backpack
2) wear it as a fanny pack in the back, front, or side
3)_ can be carried like a purse over the shoulder
4) Can be carried by handles like a briefcase

That way no matter what you can always change your mose of carrying it...

the back supports are extremely strong so I wouldn't worry abotu that much... only problem is... it is not cheap... it is genuine mountaineering gear...

I got the "TOUR" (name of product) fanny pack in the Lumbar series (product line) from mountainsmith...

here is a picture of it with specs

I carry a healty bag backpack and I love it. I have the extra small and it has so many pockets that I can easily carry everything I need yet it is small enough that it isn't in the way. I can fit a large Brita water bottle and my camera along with everything elseI usually carry so a small video camera would fit.

I bought an Eddie Bauer cross body bag off ebay for less than $10 shipped (sells for $30+). I'm planning to wear it low on my hips like a fanny back. It's got tons and tons of room for ponchos, camera, etc. plus pockets specifically for passes and ID. I can't wait to try it out. I also bought a Mickey Mouse sling bag from the Disney catalog, but am not as thrilled with it. Rather small and no compartments. I'll probably use it as a purse when my current one wears out.

I have a slingbag from meijers, I got it in the baby department. It is made to be a diaper bag, but has lots of compartments and 2 insulated side pockets for water bottles. It was around $19. And is very comfortable to wear. The shoulder strap is reversable so you can change shoulders with a simple click of the strap. I think it would be perfect for Disney. I am taking it with me on my trip in April. ~KPmom

When my son was at WDW last spring, he said you had to wait on a long line to have your backpack screened if you wanted to bring it into the parks. Is security still that tight ?

I use a small knapsack and it did the job pretty good, just hated having to fish for change and little things

I just ordered a MMClub slingpack on sale big time at disneystore.com. It was $7.99! I'mnot sure if I'll like it, but for $8 I figured I'd try.

I'm also having the how-do-I-carry-stuff crisis. This will be our first trip without a diaperbag and stroller! YAY!

I purchased this sling bag from L.L. Bean before my last trip...now I carry it all the time. The wide strap doesn't fall off my shoulder.
