So we got back today from a fantastic time in Skeggy.... :rotfl: no not really, never been there in my life. Disney was amazing and we've had an amazing but incredibly busy week.

We stayed at ASMo and were very impressed. Who needs to pay for a deluxe hotel when there are such lovely value ones? The room wasn't huge but prefectly adequate for me, DH, DS8 and DD5. We really were only in the room to sleep so anything more would've been a waste of money.

My heart sank when we were put in the Mighty Ducks - building 2 - but it was 2am our time when we checked in so I just didn't care where my bed was, I just needed it quickly! Yes it's further than some of the other buildings but it really wasn't what I'd call a long walk. We did tend to use ASMu for the bus but that was all.

So our highlights - well there are just too many to mention here. I'd say mine was seeing Mickey (I love Mickey ) and the MSEP - me and DH saw it 12 years ago and it's just the same but I love it. Even the music hasn't changed :rotfl: In fact the parades were a real hightlight and Wishes and Fantasmic too. Just very disappointed Tinkerbell didn't fly after the Wishes we saw.

For DD5 - I think she'd say meeting the princesses. Her face was a picture! She met so may other characters too. Actually we probably spend far too much time queueing to see them but it was worth it for her.

For DS8 - well his trip to Kennedy Space Centre and probably some of the fast rides. He came off Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster saying "never again" but he also loved them. He loved Epcot too *** he's into science.

DH would probably say Epcot was his favourite too.

We had the QSDP and it was too much food for us. We had 1 day away from it when we went to Kennedy and ended up with 15 meals and 4 snacks left. Still we think we've got more than our money's worth with it. The kids' options are pretty limited which was sometimes a problem for our fussy 2 but it was worth just doing the QSDP *** we just wanted to eat and go! Only thing is I couldn't do it for more than a week *** it's just all fast food. I don't want to see another chip, pizza or burger for at least a month :rotfl: Oh the resort mugs were great. We got a hot chocolate/coffee every morning to go with our breakfast (cereal in our room) and again at night. Lovely to have something other than fizz!

Getting to Gatwick on the day we left was a nightmare!! Thought we were going to miss our filght :scared1: Every road had some sort of problem. To avoid a major jam on the M40 DH ended up racing along country lanes with passing places as the A/B roads were jammed too! Thankfully we made it!

So what else can I say except we've had such a great time. Of course it's never long enough but a week was all we could do.

Oh just one observation (and sorry if this upsets any American readers:flower3:) but do American kids come with legs?! We were truely shocked at the age of kids in strollers and not just rented ones either. We frequently saw kids of our DD's age (5) in one and sometimes even kids older than our DS 8. I know there's a lot of walking involved but our 2 did it without complaining. It seems the norm for kids up to 5/6 though as some strollers were their own and not rented. Sorry but I just find it shocking and don't mind if I'm on my own with that

Ok so that's me done - I'm sure there's loads more I could tell you all but you'd probably be yawning by now :rotfl2: Any questions please ask.

Oh yes there was one low low low point - my DS insisted we all go on the Kali River Rapids. Mmmm... why is it the person who wants to go on the most and really doesn't care about getting wet is only slightly wet while me and DD got soaked?! :rotfl2: took me hours to dry out!! Not sure I've forgiven him yet!! ;)

I know what I forgot to mention:

Crowds were low! Didn't have to always use fastpass - sometimes there was only a 10-15 min wait for the big rides. Didn't get to Fantasmic very early either and got in so very happy!

Weather - humid first 2 days with a little rain. Once the humidity dropped the heat did too first thing in the morning and in the evening but the heat picked up again by the time we left.

Buses to ASMo weren't a problem - only shared with other AS resorts during the day. Mornings and evenings each one had their own bus.

Glad you had a great time. Many people like the value resorts but they are not for us, we stayed in ASMovies about 11 years ago, will never return to a value. Thankfully the OKW discount & free DDP makes deluxe as cheap as value for us.
Just on our way out to Orlando Alehouse now :cloud9:

We feel the same about the strollers, shocked at how old they are, ours are 23 months and are walking more than some of the older kids we have seen !

Glad you had a good time :goodvibes

We've stayed twice now at the Pop Century and loved it, POR was nice in a different way but besides having a slightly bigger room (oh and more soda flavours at the food court!) i'd have no problem staying at a value again in the future. Like you we only really use the rooms to sleep in, so the deluxe hotels would be a waste for us too.

We're staying at CSR next year and I still worry the rest of our party won't like it as much as they liked the Pop! :)
