Saturday morning came early for us! But no wake up call from Stitch and Mickey. We used the alarm clock in the villa. I personally didn't want to hear Stitch that early in the morning.
We took showers, got ready, grabbed a few pop-tarts and jumped in the car. I had to drop DH off at the Magic Kingdom for his "Behind the Magic of the Steam Trains" tour. As I drove toward the MK, I realized that I wasn't sure where I could drop him off. The other parks have a guest drop off area, but MK's is at the TTC. That wouldn't work because he didn't have time to wait for a monorail, especially since they weren't running very quickly this early in the morning. I ended up turning the wrong way and pulling into a service entrance that had a gate, so I had to turn around. OOOPS!

He ended up getting out at a corner where the sidewalk from the Contemporary crossed the road. And he walked the rest of the way.
DH had the camera this morning because of the train tour, so there will be no pics of my morning.

DH will have to post his own installment about the train tour, along with pics.
My goal for the morning ride the rides that DH wouldnt ride with me, as many times as possible, as quickly as possible!!!
MGM was opening at 8:00am for EMH, so thats where I headed. I thought about driving there, but then decided that I didnt want to mess with parking and then driving to another park later, so I went back to BCV and parked the car. I walked over to the bus stop only to find out that there are no busses from BC to MGM.

Only boats. So, I walked through lobby, out the back door and over to the boat dock. It was a nice walk and there weren't too many people up yet.
I got into MGM 7:50am. I walked up to the rope and cut through the shop on the right side of Hollywood Blvd to get to the front (nice GAT move, huh Buzz??).

I stood there listening to families with bickering and whining kids and felt very happy to be there by myself and not have to deal with that.
The rope dropped and the entire crowd made the right turn onto Sunset Boulevard and power-walked all the way to RNRC/TOT. The majority of the people looked like they were headed to TOT. Not me! Thats one ride youll probably never find me on. I like roller coasters, but the thought of free falling just doesnt strike me as fun!

So, I turned to the left and made my way to Rock-n-Roller Coaster. This would be the first time I'd ever ridden this coaster!

I thought about getting a FP for later, but then realized that I probably wouldnt need one. I think I was in the second pre-show. I rode all by myself, but it was AWESOME!

I loved the takeoff and the entire ride was rockin.
The theming was great and so was the music. I walked off the ride smiling and had so much fun that I walked off the ride, turned to the left and got right back in line. This time I was in line with a mom and her two kids. The dad didnt like roller coasters, so he was sitting this one out. The daughter hadnt ridden this one before, but mom and brother were telling her how great it was. I chimed in that I had just ridden it for the first time and loved it! Mom ended up riding with the daughter and asked if I minded riding with the son. He was probably about 13 or 14 years old. He screamed like a little girl! It was just as fun the second time around. If I had the camera, I would have taken a redneck picture of the pic they take of you upon takeoff. But, as I said, DH had the camera, so no luck.
On the way out, I had some PhotoPass pics taken of me, but they werent gud. We actually didnt have very many PhotoPass pics taken, so it wasnt worth it to buy the CD. So, unfortunately I dont have any to share with you. Let me just warn you though
riding RNRC with semi-wet hair can be a bad thing. Your hair will dry quickly and not necessarily in the style youd like, if you know what I mean
Having done what I wanted to do at MGM, I looked at my watch to check the time. It was 8:30am. Not bad for 30 minutes work. I wasnt sure how long it would take me to get to MK, so I decided that I may as well attempt to make two rope drops in one day! Off to the busses!
So, by 8:40 am I was waiting for a bus to MK. The bus came about 10 minutes later and dropped us off at TTC.

Doh! I thought maybe the bus would take me all the way to the MK, but no! So, I grabbed a monorail to MK and obviously didnt make my second rope drop of the day. I walked through the gates of MK at 9:15am. It wasn't crowded, but I don't have any pics because I didn't have the camera. But DH has some amazing empty Main Street pics taken at 7:00am. Hell have to post those in his update.
It was strange walking into MK for the first time this trip all by myself. I guess Ive never done that before. The castle is still a sight to see, but it wasnt as special because I didnt have anyone to share it with. Oh well, that will come later after DH and I reconnect.
Anyway, I walked directly over to Space Mountain for a ride. The standby line said 20 minutes, but it was more like 5.

I went to the right side the first time. It was a good ride, but a little rougher than I had remembered. This is another ride that I hadnt ridden since high school. Im pretty sure I didnt ride it on our honeymoon ten years ago. First of all, it would have been by myself and I probably wouldnt have wanted to do that. Plus, I was really sick with the flu during our honeymoon, so I dont think I would have wanted to ride something like this. Anyway, it wasnt very smooth, but not rough enough to deter me from riding it again. The next trip to outer space, I went left. I think the left side is a tad bit smoother than the right, but it was still pretty rough, especially compared to RNRC.
So, by 9:45am, I had ridden Space Mtn twice and made my way across the park to Liberty Square and down to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I dont remember what the standby line said but I pretty much walked right on. I asked for the front car on the left side for my first ride.
Now, I have to warn you that riding BTMR by yourself is quite a challenge. That ride whips you around so much that I found myself sliding across the seat from side to side throughout the ride. The people sitting behind me were laughing at me because I couldnt seem to control myself. But it was fun anyway! After riding in the front car, I decided that I need to test the back of the train. So, I walked back on, and rode the right side near the back of the train. I think I liked the back better than the front.
So, by 10:15, I had ridden three roller coasters in two parks each two times. Is that some kind of record? Not sure, but my stomach wasnt very happy. I think it was hungry. The pop-tart at 6:45 am was wearing off. I wasnt sure what time DH was going to be done with the tour, so I decided to grab a snack. I saw the general store in Frontierland and decided to run in there. Bought a snickerdoodle cookie and a bottle of Diet Coke. Paid OOP $5.14 as I didnt want to waste a snack credit. I sat on a bench on the porch of the store and people-watched. Pretty soon it was time for Woodys Cowboy Camp. The kids seemed to have fun participating in the show. I may have to remember that for our October trip. The girls might enjoy it.
Next up: Shopping, what else??
