Back to the future ride.

I was wondering if this ride makes anyone nauseas. Body wars makes me nauseas but I really would like to ride the Back to the Future Ride, so I was wondering if there was anyone who gets nauseas on Body wars that has ridden The Back to the Future ride. Tell me how it was.

I've never gottn nauseous on Body Wars except when I sat in the back. BTTF is pretty rough. A friend said it was like being a marble in a dishwasher! So if you get nauseous on simulator rides, you might want to avoid BTTF.

If Body Wars makes you naseous, then BTTF will probably make you very sick. It's the roughest ride in USF, but because it's not as enclosed as Body Wars, it *may not* make you as sick. No guarantees...

Body Wars bothers me a lot. Someone told me that it might be partially due to the subject matter. I felt a little odd the first time I rode BTTF but I wonder if it was because I was expecting to feel bad? I did fine the next time since I knew what to expect.

BTTF ride I found pretty bumpy where as star tours was not as bumpy

After riding BTTF I felt like I had been in a car wreck, I had my eyes closed because started to feel dizzy immediately. I made it about half way through Star Tours before I had to close my eyes. I would not ride BTTF again, nor would my husband, just to rough.

I LOVE these types of rides & feel that BTTF is the best of all of them, but I agree that, if Body Wars bothers you, I wouldn't try BTTF. Stick with the Jetsons!

BTTF made me REALLLYYY sick. I can do coasters and stuff, but this was horrible! When I got out of there, I had to lay on a bench for a good 45 minutes to get myself together enough to even walk out of the park. This is the one ride that I will not ever do again.....

Well, I get very sick on Body Wars & Star Tours - can't go on them anymore without getting sick afterward, but I can do BTTF & LOVE it. It's never made me feel the least bit nauseous.

I want to add that I've noticed, in the 40+ times I've been on BTTF (it used to be a fun marathon type thing I did when I was younger ) that each car can have a very different intensity level.

In the first few years that BTTF was open, it seemed like each level of cars was also different, 1 being the tamest, 3 being next, and 2 being the most intense

I had to watch other people in Body Wars and Star Wars... When I hit BTTF, the first time we were in the front seat, and if I remember right, there were airvents that give off cool air right in front of me, so I wasn;t that bad, but the nest time I was in the back and I had all I could do to hold it together- I was was holding on for dear life to my 9 year old (small petite kid) I thought she was going to hit her head and fall out! It would be a great ride if it wasn;t so BUMPY! I know they had a stationary car for the Hanna show and I am hoping that they keep it for Jimmy N. it makes it so much more enjoyable for people who can;t handle the BUMPS!
PS I love roller coasters and can do the Hulk and DD all day and not feel a thing!

Fun fact: A ride in the front row of the BTTF cars will less bumpy than the back row, and the middle two seats will be less bumpy than the outer seats. (There will be unpredictable mechanical differences between each car as well, but for any given vehicle the seating hints will hold true.)

The reason is simple geometry - the front middle seats place you almost directly over the vehicle's center of rotation, so you will experience the least movement. The rear corners are the farthest from the center, so the same moves are amplified by the added leverage.

Fun Fact #2. The Jimmy Neutron bases are exactly the same as the BTTF bases - same design, same manufacturer, just different theming. So the same rules apply to those bases.

So, for both BTTF and Neutron: if you seek the tamest possible ride, try to sit in the middle of the front row. For the roughest, sit in either the left or right rear corner.

I cannot tolerate Body Wars or Star Tours AT ALL, in fact, Body Wars once made me so violently ill I had to leave the park.

I CAN tolerate BTTF, though, but only in the middle front seats as Rockets pointed out. The back seat, especially on the right, bumps my shoulder too much. I had surgery on that shoulder three years ago and nothing reminds me of it more!

We rode this twice last October - once in the front seat and once in the back. I thought the back seat was much rougher and made me more nauseous than the front - and this was the second time we rode, later in the day.

This may help - DH felt queasy on Spiderman at IOA - but the second time he rode he just stared at the floor and it wasn't as bad.

It's Liquid Nitrogen that flows out, and all the cars blow it at various points during the ride.

Yes, BTTF makes me sick, yet I'm a big coaster fan.
I'll tell you the problem. They over do the shaking. It's like they really wanna show people they can make the simulator rock back and forth. Well, you win. Ok? You win so much, that I can't ride anymore.

Now, I just got back from a trip to Virgina to visit BGW.
They have a simulator attraction called Corkscrew Hill. When I first walked in, I said oh no, not one of these things again. You sit in a simulator similar to body wars and watch a movie in 3d. But it's not as rough and I didn't get sick. During the film, you're on a horse that is cantering (running), and it feels like you're really riding.

That's what they need to do with BTTF. Turn down the shaking and make it smooth.

My back's been giving out on me a lot this past year, but I braved all the simulators.

I'll tell you what...If your back feels a little odd, go on one of these rides and you'll feel every bump, jump and jolt.

Your back will hurt like Hell, but it's cool anyway.

I am prone to motion sickness and the only problem I have had with BTTF was when I did it three times in rapid succession. OTOH, I get sick from Star Tours.

My personal theory is that whether or not you get sick depends on how well the motion of the ride is synchronized to what you are seeing. I think BTTF does an exceptional job on that score. Most of the box type simulators like Star Tours are much less "accurate" when it comes to eye/movement coordination.

Just a theory. Any experts want to wigh in on this?

I will not ride this ride anymore. Last year my wife and I rode it after a lapse of 6 years because of the violent motion and we ended up in court. The couple that was with us ended up injured and in neck restraints for 8 weeks. They ended up taking them to court and got a disclosed amount of money. I love all types of coasters but this ride, though its theme is good, is too harsh on the body.
