Back to MCO from the Swan...

April 23 I arrive for vacation and can use the ME to get to the resort because I'll be staying at the BW Villas. But since the reservation ends on the 29th and I move to the Swan for one night I can't use ME to get back to MCO.

I'm trying to weigh all of the options to see what would be the best to take back to the airport. I've thought about the Mears shuttle but I've never used them before so I know nothing at all about them.

The other option is renting a car for the day with a code from MouseSavers. A town car is just too expensive for just me.

Is there another option I'm missing?

Is there another way to use the ME to get back to MCO the day after checkout at an eligible resort?

I usually stay at the Swan and either rent a car (pick-up or drop-off at the Dolphin with National or Alamo) or take Mears. I've had no problems taking Mears to the airport, because it comes at a scheduled time (usually ~ 3 hours prior to your flight). Mears FROM the airport is a different story, because it can take a long time to get to the resort, depending on how many stops are prior to yours.

There is no way to take ME to MCO the day after you check-out of your WDW resort.

Just a warning. I tried to book a one way next week Dolphin to MCO. $160 a day LOL. I decided just to get a car for the whole week. . (note with some codes I did get it down to $60 for a midsize. Still to much IMHO)

Book the Mears shuttle. It's about $19 one way pp. It works quite well. I used it to get to the S/D before and it was just fine. You can either book it before you go, or do it when you are on the ground transportation level at MCO. You should walk right past the Mears counter on the way to DME.

There is no way to ride DME if you aren't staying at a WDW owned resort on your departure day...so Mears shuttle, a rental car, or a car service are your only options.

I've done Mears and a taxi to MCO from S/D. You can book Mears online right now for a one-way trip for $21. There is also a Mears area inside the Swan - next to the Disney Desk - you can make a reservation there as well. A taxi will cost you $63 one way plus tip.

I'd recommend ther Mears shuttle, I found it to be very easy to use & very reliable too. I will definitely be using them again.

Hi Nancy!!

It's not a Mears desk at Swan, it's more like an alcove with a telephone & the Mears logo sign hanging above it. Last month was the 1st time I had seen it, I'm assuming you use the phone to call & make or change reservations. There was no live person there.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like I'll do Mears back to MCO.

I was able to get a car for $41.50/day with a code. I thought about renting one Friday to get closer to the shuttle launch, but haven't decided yet.
