Just got back from our first trip home and it was great! Tried VWL and OKW..love our OKW!

We are considering march..any holidays or dates in march we should avoid? We don't like crowds..went last year end august and that was great as was sept this year.

Will it be too cold to swim or enjoy water parks?

do any dvc resorts have kings in the studios? Our trip next august is without kids and it will be hard for us to give up the 1 bedroom! but may need to with budgeting our points.

We had considered may after easter/spring break and before schools out, but I met someone during this trip that said it was busy then too, so is march a better choice than may..what are the pros and cons of march vs may?

thanks in advanced!

We've never been to WDW in March, but we are going in '07. My spring break begins on the 17th and we're going to VB and then VWL. We've done a VB March trip before, and it was chilly (I'm talking sweatshirt weather on some of the side trips we took namely to Blue Springs SP), but still the sort of vacation we were looking for.

There are no holidays that I know of in March, but there probably will be other spring breakers.

Here's my 2 cents I hope it's helpful.

We are considering march..any holidays or dates in march we should avoid? We don't like crowds..went last year end august and that was great as was sept this year. If you want to go in March, I would consider going before the 15th. I'm a Floridian and I see the onset of spring breakers mid-March through April. The only holiday in March is St. Patty's day and that's the 17th.

Will it be too cold to swim or enjoy water parks? For me, yes it's too cold to swim, however, if you're from the north, you may be able to get a day or two during your trip. Some people have no problem swimming in heated pools of 82 or 84 degrees when it's 65 - 75 degree out. For me, it has to be 80 degrees out in order for me to enjoy myself.

do any dvc resorts have kings in the studios? Our trip next august is without kids and it will be hard for us to give up the 1 bedroom! but may need to with budgeting our points. No kings in studios that I'm aware of.

We had considered may after easter/spring break and before schools out, but I met someone during this trip that said it was busy then too, so is march a better choice than may..what are the pros and cons of march vs may? I think May is a better choice than March. The weather is better and I don't think it's going to be any more crowded than in March. Now, if you can swing going the week AFTER Memorial Day, than there are absolutely no crowds or lines to speak of. I try to go every year the week after Memorial Day and Labor Day because the crowds are so light. I just went a couple of weeks ago and it was wonderful. No crowds, no waits, except for the 5 min. wait at Aloha Isle for my Dole Whip float, however, that wait was well worth it!!

thanks in advanced!

so , when is memorial day in 07?
and what is a safe date range after that? we are looking for about 5 nights with no weekends points.
I may prefer the warmer weather and pool possiblities..for me a pool needs to be HOT as does the weather!

I took DS11 to WDW this past March to celebrate his birthday. It was, hands down, the MOST crowded I have ever seen WDW. It was actually unbearable. It's A Small World had a 40 minute wait!!! Other, more popular rides had hour+ waits and it just wasn't much fun. Fast passes were gone by noon.

I don't mean to be a downer...just trying to let you know that Spring Break is incredibly busy at WDW. If you don't want to deal with crowds then I'd go in May.

Have fun...whenever you choose to go!

The entire week AFTER Memorial Day would be ideal. I don't like staying weekends myself, so I normally check-in on Sunday (day before the actual holiday on Monday) and check out on Friday. Sunday is going to be busy, not for those checking into the resorts per say, just that the place will be crowded until everyone checks out on Monday. Most people start heading out early on Monday, you'll start seeing a dramatic difference in the crowds by afternoon and going forward until the first week of June. I don't go to the parks the first day when I check in, so the crowds really don't bother me too much, just a little more crowded by the pools. I already have my 4 days booked at my home resort starting May 27th - May 31st, 2007. The weather is perfect in May. It really doesn't start getting hot in FL until mid to late June.

Remember though, easter was in March last year. Isn't this year.
So shouldn't be as crowded as 06.

We have gone twice in March around the beginning. The crowds were not bad except on Saturday at MK when Spectromagis was going on. The weather was perfect both times we wore shorts and tank tops most days. It gets chilly night.

We have been in mid may the last 5 yrs and its a perfect time to go.Crowds not to bad.Evenings very nice for walking around. We are also trying the 1st week in march we have been going in early Feb.less pts. Weather can be cooler in Feb.but there have been some low 80s days. Crowds not a problem.

Spring Break crowds vary week-to-week and year-to-year. Our Spring Break is at the beginning of April and has usually been pretty quiet (as the vast majority of systems Spring Break sometime in March) This year, however, it falls on Easter week - so I expect the Spring Break crowds to still be out in force.

Before I returned to teaching, we always did a Florida trip in May. It was always perfect weather and crowd-wise. The resort pools were still cool in May, but the water parks were doable.

March is a good time to go. Weather is good most times. We went to a awterpark first time this past Mar trip and the water is warm. Warmer than the pools at the resorts in fact. If you go 3rd week it doesnt seem as crowded as 1st or 2nd week.

We have been in March ('04 & '05) and in May ('04, '05, & '06). The first year we went in March the weather was warm and sunny. In '05, March was warm but cloudy and rainy most of the week. It was mid-March both times.

May has been great weather for the pools each year we went. We usually go mid to end of May. Although I have found the parks get more crowded the few days prior to Memorial Day weekend, May has been much less crowded than March when we have went. During May, you also get to enjoy Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival and, if you are a Star Wars fan, they usually have Star Wars Weekends at Disney-MGM Studios.

This year we have trips planned for March 18-23 and again May 13-18.

I took my daughters this past March from the 14th to the 21st, the weather was beautiful, warm sunny days (no humidity) and cool evenings. Perfect weather for doing the parks imho.

The parks were very busy, most days the fast passes for the major rides were out by noon and regular lines were 90 minutes long.

Ok, we are leaning very high for the May 27th-1st
I think the warmer weather will suit me better

Now the flower show will that be happening during those dates? Hoping to talk mom into going and she would enjoy that.
