We arrived back home today and I am getting a little home-sick...yes, Walt Disney World is my home lol. Well I guess you could say I spent more time than I would have liked in the Old Cinema -- VMK Central...(Still was not there long). With each visit there I asked the CM behind the counter if the Pirate's Quest was out yet. They either didn't know or didn't know what I meant and looked at me like I had several heads lol.

On Tuesday (our final day) I asked and still no quest. While I was a little disappointed to hear that, I also found that dispite rumors, wanted posters and gold ears are still available...though without advertisments. I went to Le Chapeau on Main Street and asked about the Gold Ears and the kind woman behind the counter gave me a card without my purchase of a hat. I was very happy to both see they still gave out the ears and that I didn't have to purchase another set of ears haha.

At Splash Mountain, I asked about the wanted posters and the kind man behind the counter gave me a card...at the next counter, I asked again and the kind man there gave us a bunch of the cards.

Now, in these stores they no longer have the sign that goes on about "Buy a real <item> recieve a virtual <item>..." So my guess is not many people will know about this as both of these CM's didn't hand them out with purchase. The Splash Mountain CM didn't give us the cards when we bought the picture...it wasn't until we asked that we recieved them. So my tip to all of you is ask!! :thumbsup2

They have also put the Adventureland Quest back on the shelves.

Also, I am not sure if this was always true or if it was just the CM there, but the presentation of room/park tickets was not necessary when getting the Thrill Seeker's Quest stamped. We printed out extras and forgot the other two extras in the room. We got the prizes for the stamped quests and on another day came back with the unstamped quests. My sister kindly explained that she handed in the stamped quests earlier (to the same guy nonetheless) but had forgotten to get these stamped. He refused her the prizes and told her that had she brought the unstamped quests with the stamped, she would have been fine.

Also, don't count on getting an easy going CM at the VMK Central...always expect the stiff ones lol. My sister put in all the correct answers to the adventureland quest and had messed up one answer. The CM took out his "book" and carefully examined each quest handed in. He found the mistake in one and refused her the prize. While she had multiple of each quest, he only checked one of each and said he "trusted" the other answers in the same quests were the same as the one he checked. At another time, the CM didn't even open the quest. Just better to be safe than sorry! :thumbsup2

Another thing, the keyboards at the Walt Disney World VMK Central are horrible!! I suggest they put letters back on the keys lol (luckily I know my keyboard well enough to know what letter is where lol). I also think there should be chairs lol. But, this is just what I think lol.

While time is unlimited on the computers there, don't count on staying a while lol. With awful keyboards, curious wandering people who stick their heads FAR into your personal space lol, and the same music playing over and over again on the cinema screen, your unlimited time quickly becomes limited as your sanity can only take so much lol.

Anyway, I hope I didn't sound like a broken record here but if I did, I appologize and you can ignore what I have written lol. If some of this is new to read, then I'm glad I could inform you in some way lol.

Thanks for all the great info! I hope the pirate quest comes out in three days! I'm not getting my hopes up though. So I wonder if I should take extra quests just in case they don't check them. And does anyone know if you use a castmember pass can you get a quest? My sister is a cast member and talking us and i'm not really sure how it works!

I would print out extra copies of the quests for each member of your group, just in case. Some CMs don't care, others are picky. Better to be safe and have extra print outs ready.

Welcome back. Thanks for the update. Hope that you had a great trip. :)

The Cast members at VMK Central at WDW are HORRIBLE!!!!!

The Cast members at VMK Central at DLR are WONDERFUL!!!!

I offer all my infernos and sticth hats if the CM's are traded!!!!

What are the extra copies for? To complete the quest twice and get double the prize even though they're only supposed to give one per ticket? Or in case you lose one?

When you say she didn't get the prize for one of her quests, is she allowed to fix the mistake and turn it in again? If not it's highly unfair they don't check the other's in her/my party. What if I have my kids fill in their own papers and they mix up an answer. Why should the rest be penalized, and why should we not be able to take it for a different cm to examine if one is too impatient to look thoroughly? :teacher:

While it will be novel to be in VMK central (I have no idea what it's like), tickets are too expensive, and my computer is just fine at home compared to my limited time touring Disney parks, to spend much time on their computers. I'll just hope it's not a quest weekend when we go, assign BIL to buy any new weekend only products for us (or get it while we're on for 1/2 hour?) and go have fun in Disney! :moped:

I imagine they don't want anyone getting too comfortable or people would spend too much time and wouldn't let others have a turn. Does the computer do JUST vmk? or can we access DIS to get our quest spoilers if there is one :rotfl2: It'll probably change by the time we go anyway.
Thanks for the tips!

Not all of them, some are actually quite nice. Even the ones that are not nice are not HORRIBLE (IMO). However there definitely is a lack of communication between the cast at WDW and VMK management.

You can NOT access Dis, as the computers will only let you access the VMK sites. Even some of them (I think I could not get into Contact Us) are not allowed.

When I first found out about VMK (back in December), one of the staff members at Disneyland was telling me that there was a guy who was there in Innoventions, all day, everyday. Maybe not on weekends...it's been a while so I forget the specifics. But either way, what they were telling me was quite a long time being devoted to playing. I go crazy with those computers after 15 minutes. I can't even IMAGINE all day.

;) It's possible. If they have internet for VMK, they have internet for everything else.

ROFL... did you torment them by yelling: "FOX!!!!!!"? :rotfl:

In Sir Mickey's while i was there there was a sign saying buy a shirt and get a virtual shirt online. I asked the guy what the shirt looked like he showed me it and gave me 3
cards i then noticed it was the Mickey Mouse one. Also when i bought candy from Prairie OutPost the girl behind the counter gave me 5 and my little sister 5 even though she did not buy anything. Then when I bought a pin I got 3 cards. I bought a hat and got 2 cards. So the people there were nice but when I was in VMK Central this guy would not let me hand in 4 quests at the same time with the cards, he was really mean. I had some extra quests left over on the last day so I took the chance of handing them in the girl was really nice and took them and gave me an extra band she said Hope You Had A Magical Time Here.

I'm not sure if this is still the same procedure, but this is how I remember
a WDW cast member friend of mine got me in:

When a cast member "main gates" you (aka getting you in free), the turnstile
cast member will issue a single day park hopper ticket for each person
in the party. That way, each person can use the FastPass machines, hop
to other parks, and yes, be able to use the ticket for VMK quest redemption.

I'm not sure how your sister's CM ID is used in the parks for the purpose of
the FP machines and VMK though, but I do know how it works for guests of
CMs.

We brought the extras in case someone in vmk central had forgotten to print them or just heard about the quest. Or, we had the extras to turn in to give them to some friends of ours from the vmk/dis. At the end we had four extra tickets so we tried to turn in the other extra copies for giving them out here.

EDIT: She just told me she WAS able to fix the mistake. :thumbsup2

None of them were "Horrible" when I was down there. Just some were more strict than others. Also, the day of the meet down there, the cast members were excellent. They talked with us and laughed (I hope the laughing was at what we said rather than at us! rofl, jk.)

Thanks. Oh we had a wonderful time! I got to ride those segways...those things are fun! lol, All I could think of while riding them was "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" with that bratty girl asking her dad for everything lol. I wanted one! :rotfl:

Hey. We just went in June and found the CM in WDW to be very nice. Very slow, lol, but very nice. She confessed that she didn't really understand what VMK was. But she did her job well (following the rules closely) and she was pleasant.

As for extra cards, I did get two at Splash Mountain (it was the first time I had ever ridden and was breathless with pride - for overcoming fear - and excitement) because the CM thought I was crazy for buying such a horrible picture of myself! (OMG you have to see it!). I only received one at the other places. Next time I will drag a cute child with me and perhaps I can score extras. ;)

Are the Segways out of this world? After I took the tour I turned into that girl too I wanted one so badly, and I felt like a little kid! It took a year but I am the proud owner of my very own Segway!

I saw a CM get quest in the VMK booth and they scanned her ticket like a regular ticket.

My experience in The Main Street Cinema for VMK is the computers are uncomfortable and I am guessing they are made for much shorter 8-14 year olds. Any time I hever ever been in there the CM have all been friendly except for one who does her job but isn't very "jolly" I think it is her personality rather than anything else she is the only one I ever see really looking at quest answers. I can't imagine not letting a kid fix an answer, this is all about fun right? It's not school!

It would be nice if they knew more about VMK but that is a CM/VMK Staff issue. That was what I liked about the tour, the tour guides seemed to know so much about VMK and what was coming next in the game.

Sorry to take this a little off-topic, but...LisaInNc, I am now very jealous of you! :rotfl: Hmm...how much are you selling it for? rofl. Or better yet....I'll trade you my gold ears for your segway! :rotfl2:
