Why is disney taking this ride away and what will replace it?

Because it has become outdated, especially since DHS is no longer a working studio. They haven't announced what the plans are yet, rumor is they will be adding more Pixar themed rides and a 3rd track for TSM.

Another rumor is Star Wars land. But as of now it is being replaced by nothing.
