We just got back from our 4 day stay. The weirdest thing happened on Friday night. They cancelled the fireworks because of the winds, and I guess because so many people were leaving at once, they had us exit "backstage." They walked the whole mob of us from the Carnation Plaza to the exit behind all the stores. We even got to see the stairs leading up to Walt's apartment. It was very odd to see CM's out of character, smoking, hanging by the vending machines, etc.

We did see the fireworks on Thursday, however and they were spectacular. The castle changing colors was spectacular. The light show on IASW was really outstanding too. I am so glad we went. The 'snowing' was fun too. It was crowded, but we have seen way worse.

The sub line was moving pretty quickly. Someone told us to ask to be loaded from the back, and it is prettier from that side.

Happy Thanksgiving, all!

I take it the 'weird' part was going 'backstage'??
Hey, the CMs have to take a break 'somewhere'. Chock it up to a life experience.:thumbsup2

Using the backstage area of Main Street as a way to move the crowds is apparently not that uncommon. I have now heard of it happening several times.

We were sent that way "backstage" during the taping of the Christmas parade on 11/10. Was pretty neat to see the back of part of the Jungle Cruise.

Just a question, cause I often wondered if seeing behind the scenes takes away from the magic of it all. I mean it could be really cool to see but id be afraid to see it.

In June POTC broke down and we had to be evacuated off the boats. We got a backstage tour on our way out. Got to see a break room even. We thought it was pretty cool. I'd LOVE to see the stairs that lead up to Walt's apartment or the back side of the Jungle Cruise. How fun! :)

I found it really fascinating and wanted to see more. Dfi didn't like seeing it. He likes the facade of perfection.

I was taken out through backstage when I had a panic attack at the hub. Much easier than trying to navigate me through Main Street. I don't really remember what was there as I had my head down, but the friend with me said it was neat to see.
