Back from Wonderland:wAlice,Madhatter,ChesCat&White Rabbit 11/11Thank You

Awww...Sorry you were brought to tears....but what a sweetie Rabbit is! Sounds like he can instantly make you feel better. :goodvibes
I love the photos & I totally agree about Morocco.

Oh no....

I know that feeling....I am sorry that you had gotten upsdet, but alo glad Hatter noticed and everything was put right quickly...so sweet of Rabbit to come to your rescue :goodvibes You day at Epcot is shaping up to be a good one! Glad the KPM turned out well for you and splitting up during the missions actually sounded like a sweet idea to give the kids a chance to be in charge....may have to ty that next yr!

I am looking forward to more!

Hey Julie,

I did turn out to be a good day-kind of like the rainbow after the rain...:)...Hatter is really a great guy-he's just stubborn...and he passed that on to his daughter...

Rabbit is really sweet that way-he is almost always sympathetic and wants to make people feel better...(it's just hard for him to always be empathetic cause he can't always get inside someone else's view point so he isn't always sure what to do...even when he wants to but he was just so spot on this time...:goodvibes...I know preaching to the choir right...:rolleyes1

I'm such a geek-I really could have several more missions...

Oh my gosh....that is good! Em is such a beauty...like her Mama, right ;)

J-

Oh and thanks for the BLOG shout-out...

Awww...you know how to make a girl feel good...:goodvibes (especially one starting her diet/fitness program tomorrow...tomorrow only because I have tons of brisket and mashed potatoes and desserts we have to finish off for dinner from holiday dinner with my inlaws this weekend...otherwise I'd have started today )

You are quite welcome for the shout out. I was over there and left a post-I hope it took (I have special needs in the area of technology...:confused3 -you've created some very, very nice Disney stuff...well done you!

Well that explains it.

I  Anthropolgie. I have to avoid it or it is DANGEROUS. Fortunately it isn't nearby. Which annoys me. But is a good thing. I allow myself 2 trips per year.

I like UO as well though won't let myself go in there...too old. But I really should look there for Kendall, hadn't really thought about it as an option and I don't think she's gone there on her own. I'm less than thrilled with a couple of the stores she really likes these days although to be fair the stuff she picks is ok. So far.

I have 3 Anthropologies within 10-15 miles of me...they are headquartered out of Phila...the guy who started the company went to U of P...very dangerous that...They can have very good sales also...:goodvibes

Oh I know! I try to ONLY look at the sales racks if at all humanly possible. technically the 2 stores are within 15 or so miles but not remotely convenient for me. Downtown and then at a super congested urban mall that is nowhere near my traffic pattern. Thank goodness!

Not to hijack but the thing I love about John Adams best is that Marc isn't that into History, he indulges but he genuinely loved the mini series. We are planning a trip to John Adams' farm next summer, it's really close to us. I can't wait to hear how you like the rest of the episodes!

First-feel free to "hijack" my thread anytime to talk about history-I love it...:lovestruc...Secondly...it isn't really hijacking...We were just near the America pavilion in Epcot...and what could be more American than our second president, John Adams...;)

I can see where a non history person would love that series-from what I can see so far-its just a really well told story-and the characters are really compelling...(it also isn't at all sappy-some history dramas gravitate towards a sort of sappiness...)I have to confess I didn't know as much about Adams as say Washington or Jefferson...and now to me -he's every bit the hero that they are/were...I love how he took the case for those British soldiers at the beginning not because he was a loyalist but because he truly felt they were being unfairly treated...I also love his relationship with Abigail and his children...it was really hard for him to leave them to go to Philadelphia...and it shows his good and bad qualities...(just a little arrogant and hotheaded sometimes...but truly a decent, ethical, smart man...

Ooo...you're going to his farm??? That's pretty cool-I'd like to go there myself someday...in the show-the showed it being relatively close to Boston...Abigail could see the shelling and fires from the farm...is it close to Boston?

Aww...April how are you? Your trip is right around the corner...:woohoo:

Yeah Rabbit is my little buddy for sure...

YOU LOVE MY PHOTOS---hahaha.:lmao:.. well please feel free to post any of your Worldshowcase photos here anytime you want...:goodvibes

Oh, just wait for the rest of the mini series. There was one thing I noticed that I just couldn't believe production decided to take time with. I'm curious to see if you notice it too.

I think it's sad that they don't teach more about John Adams in History in school. Especially in my area, growing up in Maine anything that had a New England connection was always a little more interesting. It saddens me that he was never really part of the curriculum.

It is pretty close to Boston, I don't know if it's quite as close as they portray in the mini series or not though.

They also have a book of John & Abigail's letters that I want to pick up too. :thumbsup2

I am so behind in commenting!! And just after a few days!!

I think motivating yourself to excerise with a goal is great! I took on running more seriously when a friend talked me into doing a 5k race. And I really enjoyed it. :goodvibes Have you looked at the couch to 5k program? I think it sounds really good and is a great starting point. I am still not a very good runner and will need a lot of training in order to get through the half marathon, but I am at a point where I actually miss my running if I don't get around to do it! :goodvibes

Don't get worried about DLP! I don't think you need to stay there. First of all, the hotels really aren't that great. The Disneyland Hotel is unbelievably expensive, so that's no choice and the others are cute, but not fantastic. They lack the extensive theming the WDW resorts have. If you go on a weekday in March (unless it's the week before Easter), lines will be very manageable. And I would suggest to skip the Walt Disney Studios. Don't worry! And feel free to PM me with any questions you might have, I will happily give more advice on anything DLP related! :thumbsup2

I think your morning at Epcot sounds great - with the exception of the tears episode, but Rabbit was really sweet about that! :goodvibes I did the Kim Possible thing in January and thought it was great, so I agree, it is fun for adults, too! We did Germany and thought that it was hilarious!! :rotfl:

Get. Out. You can visit John Adams' farm??? Really and truly???

John Adams has always been my favorite Founding Father -- Washington had the military might and Jefferson had the flowery words, but Adams was truly the force behind our push for independence. Genius of a man even if he was too outspoken for many of his peers. :goodvibes

Rabbit looks at me and then sternly back at them and says "that was very bad of you to make mommy cry-you shouldn't fight...-Mommy-I told them to be good-you can be happy again-"

Bravo-the 7 year old gets it...he's my buddy-I'm riding TT with him...

Double Bravo!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I want to hug him!

At the end of 5 minutes...the CM presented Emily with a card Congratulating our family (her) for being the special "Family" (she) that learned Chinese...

Rabbit should have gotten one for sheer effort...:lmao:

What a funny story!

I can't wait to do the KP Missions... I'm more excited than the kids!!

I'm glad the day was saved... literally and figuratively! ;)

Kathy

I'm glad that you got to enjoy the World Showcase! That Tangierine Cafe rarely disappoints. It really is a beautiful pavilion. Judging from the accuracy of the China Pavilion to actual buildings in China, I'm sure the recreated Morocco pretty well..

Tell your son that Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong are the must see cities in China! The Great Wall alone is worth the trip!

A SHORT INTERMISSION AND A BRIEF ROMANTIC INTERLUDE...

Anyone who read my pretrip report is aware that there was a bit of ongoing tension between several of our traveling companions...

French Minnie had come home from Worldshowcase with Alice several years ago... she is chic, sophisticated and a tad reserved.

Jedi Mickey came to live with Rabbit recently on his 7th Birthday. JM is fearless, fun and slightly arrogant.

Upon first meeting, it seemed that they absolutely despised each other and the fact that they would both be traveling to WDW with us just seemed to make the situation worse.

Photo80.jpg

They were kept separate and traveled in different suitcases and upon unpacking at the AKL-I made certain sure that they were on separate sides of the room-JM closer to the balcony and the animals in case he felt the need for a little adventure out on the savanna and FM closer to her bath products so she could be closer to a relaxing bath.

Well I started noticing each day upon coming back to the room at night from the pool that there seemed to be a warmth in the air and that JM and FM seemed to be getting closer each day...

We had been taking JM to parks each day adventurer that he is and the day we were going to Epcot we decided we would take French Minnie with us too to have a look at her old stomping grounds...

Well imagine our surprise when the two of them asked if they might have a little personal time...(with us chaperoning of course)

We later found out through these photos what they were up to...

FM being wooed in China

100_0833.jpg

sigh...It looks like they had quite the romantic afternoon...

Upon our homecoming-they have taken to living back in Alice and Rabbit's rooms although I know they are still seeing each other...

French Minnie recently confided to me that Jedi Mickey has proposed marriage-BUT she isn't sure what to do. For as much as she loves him...she has heard that not only are Jedis not supposed to marry there is one who did...and it apparently ended badly...

So what it a girl to do? Play it safe and don't tempt fate or take a risk and see if she can make a successful go of it?
Personally I'd like to see a wedding and a Disneymoon...although I can understand her reservations...

Well I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens...

NEXT UP: OUR DINNER AT CHEFS DE FRANCE, TORRENTIAL RAIN AND A TRIP TO JAPAN...

I totally think you should plan a Disney Wedding and Disneymoon! There couldn't be any other type of Wedding for them! :rotfl:

:lmao: OMG Patricia!! Your too funny!!! I love it!! :worship:

JM and FM sound very similar to my parents! Upon first meeting they hated each other!! My mom thought my dad was brash, arrogant and just general to rough around the edges. My Dad thought my mom was an uptight snob! But, because they had mutual friends, they saw each other frequently.

Long story short, they grew on one another and have been happily married for 41 years as of yesterday!

I can see FM's reservations though. She needs to follow her heart and perhaps a little bit of the force!

Ooo-it's coming in the mail from Netflix... tomorrow...(does it having anything to do with his time in France...there were previews and it looked like Franklin was having a pretty good (naughty) time there...;)

I'm surprised that you didn't do more in New England when you studied AH-that's sad-you have all that stuff right in your backyard...

I'd heard that the J & A had a very good marriage and an extremely equal marriage especially for that time period...:goodvibes

I have to get back to Massachusetts-Salem, Concord and Lex again and now John Adams farms...and I know there is a ton of stuff I'm leaving out...

Yes I am really serious about starting to run...well walk and then jog and then run...:lmao: I had started some strength training a couple of times a week during the summer and started to really like that as well but I got off schedule with camps and vacations and such...-I was also seeing a personal trainer and it was just getting too $$...I need a budget focused training regimen...;) I don't really care if I am ever the best runner...just being fit enough to be able to be able to do a half marathon is my goal...:goodvibes (I don't see myself going for a full marathon...) I guess its just a question of how much time does it take to get to the point where you can run a half marathon...Is a year (or 15 months specifically enough time-it seems like it would be..unless I'm deluding myself...:confused3

I'm not going to try to stay overnight in DLP-tempting though it may be...a day trip from Paris will be wonderful...we'll plan to be there at rope drop and stay all day...I know there is no way we'll see everything -I just want to get the overall feel...We will not do the Studios...as soon as I'm done this trip report-I'm going to start a PTR for the day trip to DLP and our October trip and I'm going to make up a list of ?s for you-I would LOVE your advice...:thumbsup2

Just think of the American History road trip you could do heading up the coast...tempting isn't it...;) I'd go...LL could do a whole highlights of Colonial Massachusetts thing...there aren't any character breakfast but think of all the gift shops...:lmao:...plus we could have t-shirts made on zazzle...

He was great..:goodvibes.my little Aspie got right to the heart of the matter while his NT father and sister were just all off topic and inflexible...:confused3

The Kim Possible Missions rock...:cool1:

Oh I'm sure he'll be visiting a whole host of places in Asia some day...;)...China and Japan are already on his wish list...and I'm sure the more he learns...the longer his list will get...

I LOVE your saga of French Minnie and Jedi Mickey! So clever, and such fun!

Ah, I can understand FM reservations. Jedi Mickey seems like he could be a bit of a risk taker. What to do, what to do...

I absolutely had to stay up pass my bedtime to read this update, it was magnificque!!!! Oh French Minnie and Jedi Mickey had the most amazing, romantical afternoon in WS, however I feel that is where it should stay! While I agree true love should never be denied...I have heard of this story about the one Jedi who dared to love and yes it did end badly...very badly! LOL!!!!

Great update...I loved the pictures!!!!!

I do agree with Jen, FM needs to end it, let him down gently, but end it all the same.

I love it!

The tension, the romance, the angst.

I agree, a Disney Wedding and Disneymoon are in order. Or at the very least a Planning Journal

:)

:rotfl:

I think they should just go for a passionate, torrid affair and live with those memories! The realities and pressures of married life would surely accentuate those pesky differences;)

If you all come up here for a Colonial Tour, I will totally do some sort of Colonial Character Breakfast. Marc & I can be John & Abigail Adams. ;) They also have character reenactments in Concord! We could hit up the colonial things, Salem, The Freedom Trail in Boston and Plimouth Plantation! It would be a fabulous time. OH! We could even go to Strawberry Banke in Portsmouth, NH. That's right where I used to live and we've done many tours over there, it's fascinating. :thumbsup2
