Epcot 2...TEARS, TEST TRACK AND WONDERS IN WORLDSHOWCASE....

Well the tears had arrived and it seemed that they were in no hurry to leave. Despite my effort to get rid of them with some rightgeous indignation...(an unfortunate combinations of a lack of coffee, hormones, and weariness at the the bickering had pushed my weepy weepy button as opposed to the angry button...) As we made our way into Test Track with our fastpasses...I attempted to hide them with my sunglasses...Hatter to his credit quicky noticed them and asked what was the matter...

What was the matter..What's the matter...? Well- I'm a little bit tired of this ridiculous bickering for one thing....I know you two love each other...why do you do this...it's gone too far...It is terribly upsetting....we are at Disney for God's sake-pull it together...(do you need anymore reasons?)

Alice now looked quilty and remorseful..".I'm so sorry mommy-we didn't mean it..."

Hatter..."I'm sorry I should have stopped it...I kept it going...'

Alice..."Mom please be happy again..."

Rabbit..."Why is mommy crying?"...

Hatter explains that "mommy is upset because he and Alice were fighting...and Rabbit looks at me and then sternly back at them and says "that was very bad of you to make mommy cry-you shouldn't fight...-Mommy-I told them to be good-you can be happy again-"

Bravo-the 7 year old gets it...he's my buddy-I'm riding TT with him...

How could I keep crying after that...although I did mention to A & H that I didn't want so much as one word that wasn't pleasant and peaceful for the rest of the day...they had started it-but I was going to use it to my advantage...:cool2:

(Due to the emotional chaos-I got only one photo in TT...

100_0818.jpg

We also tried to swipe the TT photo at the end to our photopass but it didn't seem to take...:confused3

After riding TT-which we all adore-I was in a much better mood...and I didn't intend to squander it or the fact that I now had Alice and Hatter feeling guilty and I intended to make the most of it....hehehehehe.....

Instead of going to fastpass Soarin which I do love very much but it makes me a little melancholy for California...I decided that we were headed for World Showcase-it was just a little bit after 11:15 and we had an early ressie for Chefs de France at 5 so I thought we should have an early lunch...and I knew just where I wanted to go-Morocco....

but first we stopped and picked up a Kim Possible Mission time...1:15 in Norway...

so off we trotted-without too much stopping yet...to lunch in Morocco and the Tangerine Cafe...

We made it around ...Canada...UK...France...Morocco....

I love Morocco-I think it does such a good job of capturing the essence of what it must be like...not having been there...I have to guess...but I think it is a lovely, romantic pavilion...(that whole stretch between the UK through Japan...but specifically France and Morocco-I think are romantic and well done...) I'd love to go to Fez and Marrakesh-i think it could be a very romantic, exotic trip-no kiddos...

100_0824.jpg

Lunch...Tangerine Cafe...yum...Rabbit got the traditional Moroccan burger...while Alice and I split a lamb/chicken platter while Hatter had his own...plus yummy backlava...

100_0821.jpg

the sky was starting to look angry in that way that the August sky in Florida can look...

We had decided that on our way to Norway...we wouldn't do every country in order but pop in maybe every other or so...and then do the others after our mission/Dinner

America-we found the presidents fandex for Rabbit-he was quite the happy boy...and he partipated in a little spontaneous show with songs and the Pledge of Allegiance for our youngest patriots...

100_0825.jpg

He's fourth in from the left-he takes this very seriously...

Italy-Alice posed in front of the country (she wants to go there as a graduation gift from High School in 4 years...maybe...)

100_0826.jpg

100_0827.jpg

100_0828.jpg

Germany-We looked at the trains and found a special Princess...Rabbit was quite taken with...

Image56.jpg

Image57.jpg

Image58.jpg

Fortunately, we had met the lovely Snow White in the nick of time...

The skies just opened up and began to pour down on us...

one, two, three let's move...past the African outpost...and into China...

I suggested-the Temple in China and the movie...(we hadn't seen it since the redo... and it was pouring...) While we were waiting there drenched and looking like wet cats-one of the young Chinese cast members came over and asked us (Alice) if we (she) would like to learn some Chinese....so as he began to teach us (her) how to say hello, please, thank you...it became clear to Hatter and I who were exchanging glances that he was clearly interested in teaching her Chinese...Rabbit on the other hand...was absolutely jazzed and could think of nothing better than learning a little Chinese...in fact he'd already picked some up on tv and proceeded to demonstrate to the CM who seemed to be trying pretty hard to ignore him and focus on Alice...(Rabbit had a pretty good accent I must say- but this seemed to impress the CM very little as he worked on getting Alice to learn the words...If if wouldn't have been impolite I would have been laughing at this point as Rabbit was practically standing on his head saying please in Chinese while this guy was trying to ignore him...) At the end of 5 minutes...the CM presented Emily with a card Congratulating our family (her) for being the special "Family" (she) that learned Chinese...

100_0835.jpg

Alice holding our (her) certificate....:lmao:

100_0834.jpg

Rabbit should have gotten one for sheer effort...:lmao:

The Movie was very good...and it just so happens that China is the country that Rabbit would like to go when he graduates High School in....hmmm...11 years...?

100_0836.jpg

Who wouldn't want to go to a country that has Pandas?

It was still raining but less so...and we wanted to do our mission...so we walked between the rain drops to Norway and our KP mission instructions...Rabbit really wanted to ride the Maelstrom in Norway so Alice and I headed back to China...all I can say is maybe I'm a big geek....but I LOVED IT...so cool...so much fun...I wound up seeing all this stuff in China that I don't normally see...so much fun...

100_0831.jpg

Since Hatter was a tad jealous...When we finished....we trotted off to Mexico where he did a mission with Alice while I took Rabbit on the Grand Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Cabelleros-I may have mentioned this before but we are huge Donald fans...Rabbit's favorite of the Fab 5 is Goofy but followed closely by Donald and I just adore Donald...:goodvibes

Coming up: A short but intense romantic interlude between Jedi Mickey and French Minnie, followed by: More World Showcase including a Dinner at Chefs de France & Remy...

His red shirt makes him look to very patriotic!

How sad for him, and this being the country that he so loves!

I can't wait! Romance and good food with a rat, what more could a person want?

See I knew all along that David and Nobby would get along just great if they were ever to meet, however David's choice in deeming Snow White a great princess simply just seals the deal!!!! Loved those pictures!!!

Glad you had a great time doing the KP missions! I'm so going to do one...even as an adult with no kids I think they just look like so much fun YAY!!!!!

OOOH....Jedi Mickey and French Minnie...hmmm...this sounds very interesting :lovestruc Can't wait for all the details LOL!!!!

I'd say Rabbit is definitely the star of this update:goodvibes It's nice that he was looking out for you. What a sweet little guy:lovestruc Love the picture of him pledging allegiance. Looks like he takes citizenship very seriously:goodvibes I can also tell Rabbit is quite smitten with Snow White. That is the cutest little smile:cutie: I'd recommend sending Rabbit on all of Alice's dates.;) Sounds like he will do his best to keep those boys in line:lmao: Great update:thumbsup2

Awww!! I'm so sorry that got weepy!! I can so relate to the way Hatter and Alice go at it!! DH and DD are the same way!! She's only 8!! I truly dread what the teen years may bring! With them it's a competition thing really! They are the 2 most competitive people I've every met!!! :headache:

I love that Rabbit tried to defend you :lovestruc my DS6 is the same way!!

I can't wait to read about the romantic interlude between Jedi Mickey and French Minnie!! But don't you think Princess Leia Minnie might be a bit peeved?! French Minnie better lookout! Leia is pretty good with that ray gun thing ;)

Well there you go. Tell it like it is Rabbit! Good for you! I'm glad it was resolved quickly for you.

Can't wait to here more, I'm a sucker for a great romance!

Does anyone else think that Patricia's Emily looks like Helena Bonham Carter?? She is a beautiful young lady!

How can anyone stay grumpy or teary after TT?

Something about racing the wind that just gets my grin on like no other ride.

I want Alice's tank top.

I really really NEED a presidential fandex! I don't want to wait until next August and DS9 would just be in heaven. Must.figure.out.how.to.get.one!

Great update and I'm so glad the tears stopped and that the rain seems to be slowing down....

I want a Presidential fandex! It's on my list.

I haven't explored China an awful lot but I have to now because of the cute little Pandas! Pandas, Koalas and Manatees are my kind of animals. Hehehe.

I am so glad you are enjoying John Adams! Isn't it great? I think we are actually going to buy it since we loved it so much. I even bought the David McCullough book it is based off of. :rolleyes1

Rabbit earns major points for fussing at Hatter and Alice!!! :thumbsup2

I feel the same way about Morocco -- so exotic and beautiful! :lovestruc We ate at the CS this past June, and I savored each and every bite of my wrap and baklava -- yummy, yummy, yummy!

As you know, Connor got the Star Wars fandex for his birthday, and we are all so taken with it that he may be getting the presidential one in a couple of weeks as well!

I was rolling with laughter reading about Alice (your family) learning Chinese! Poor David trying to get noticed!

I agree, your daughter is a beautiful young woman. I can see why that Chinese CM was trying to teach your family (her) Chinese. But poor Rabbit! He didn't realize it was all a ruse.:rotfl:

Rabbit looks just so adorable doing the pledge. What a patriotic little boy.:goodvibes

Morocco is one of my favorite WS countries also. The tile work is amazing!

Pandas are one of Amelia's loves. She has panda everything and loved your China pictures with all of the pandas.:lovestruc

I can't wait! Romance and good food with a rat, what more could a person want?

:lmao: I know exactly...I love the movie Ratatouille but it was interesting the initial reaction I had to Remy...;)

See I knew all along that David and Nobby would get along just great if they were ever to meet, however David's choice in deeming Snow White a great princess simply just seals the deal!!!! Loved those pictures!!!

Yep-David was quite taken with Ms. White ( she gave him a little hug and kiss too...)...we've watched the movie and he loves it and her and the dwarves...he doesn't totally get what's going on in the "sleeping death scene" so I just try to skirt over it and focus on the happy ending...:confused3

I would totally do KP with or without kids...in fact if I didn't have Emily with me I would have gotten to hold the Kim Communicator...:lmao:

Sigh...romance in World Showcase...it turns out Jedi Micky can be quite the Romantic fellow...

Yes Rabbit was definitely my little hero...:cloud9:...He can be a pretty stoic little fellow and doesn't talk a lot about emotions but in his guilelessness he has the ability to cut to the heart of the matter...someone (mom) is sad...so you (Alice and Hatter) stop what you're doing that is making her sad...:goodvibes

Oh my yes- Snow White made quite the impression on him...;)

I'd love to have Rabbit go along on Alice's dates...so would Hatter...Alice-not so much...:lmao:

Awww!! I'm so sorry that got weepy!! I can so relate to the way Hatter and Alice go at it!! DH and DD are the same way!! She's only 8!! I truly dread what the teen years may bring! With them it's a competition thing really! They are the 2 most competitive people I've every met!!! :headache:

I didn't mean to get weepy but it was just frustrating and unnecessary......They are just too much alike and they don't see it...and it isn't usually about anything big (they both like to be right-a lot...:confused3)...(BTW-it isn't like this is an everyday thing and most of the time they are great together-most kids stay who they are as teens -just more so...if that make sense......

Rabbit is really a sweetheart...not a mean bone in that child's body...:goodvibes

Yeah...I don't know where Princess Leia Minne was...:confused3...hmmm...might be an interesting story there...I know she is pretty good with that gun...:lmao:

Well there you go. Tell it like it is Rabbit! Good for you! I'm glad it was resolved quickly for you.

Can't wait to here more, I'm a sucker for a great romance!

Well you know being on the spectrum, Rabbit sees things in a pretty black and white manner...they were being bad-they needed to stop...:confused3...pretty accurate & simple appraisal of the situation...spot on...:lmao:

He pretty much always tells the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth... also...when he tries to lie-usually about how much candy he's had or something like that... (he's so bad at it-I have to keep from laughing...)

Does anyone else think that Patricia's Emily looks like Helena Bonham Carter?? She is a beautiful young lady!

100_0835.jpg

Thanks Elin...:goodvibes...she is lovely even in my cra**y photos...her drama teacher asked her if she knew HBC because she thought the same thing...:goodvibes

She was Mrs. Darling in the production of Peter Pan last year...she was wearing an Edwardian style dress and she had her hair piled on her head...she looked a lot like the HBC character in A Room With A View...

(I'll have to find some of those and post them-after all they are sort of Disney related-the play being Peter Pan and all...:lmao:)

She's also a pretty decent cellist...Rabbit's expressed an interest in learning piano (and he can carry a tune quite well-good ear) but I think I'll wait to start him next year at 8....)

You can't be sad after TT-well at least I couldn't...;)

Yeah-I helped her pick that top out-Urban Outfitters...the younger sister of Anthropologie...:lmao:...funny how she picks out the cute stuff when I shop with her as opposed to some of the stuff she drags in when she shops with her friends...:confused3-the same things don't look good on everyone...

If we can manage to rent the points-I'd love it!!! I'll have to start looking into the possibilities...

Oh you really should....even though we have yet to stay for the 1st time in our DVC home...I just can't wait, thinking about the extra room and bathrooms, kitchen to have meals, and more! Check out the DVC threads here on the Dis and if you want to learn more direct from the DVC, I really do recommend our guide, she was wonderful. I can't wait to call her in a few months to make our first ressie! :thumbsup2

I love this picture of Hatter and Rabbit w/ Goofy :thumbsup2
and it was time for Test Track...

Outside, I had had it...

and I felt the tears coming...

Oh no....

I know that feeling....I am sorry that you had gotten upsdet, but alo glad Hatter noticed and everything was put right quickly...so sweet of Rabbit to come to your rescue :goodvibes You day at Epcot is shaping up to be a good one! Glad the KPM turned out well for you and splitting up during the missions actually sounded like a sweet idea to give the kids a chance to be in charge....may have to ty that next yr!

I am looking forward to more!

Oh and thanks for the BLOG shout-out...

Well that explains it.

I  Anthropolgie. I have to avoid it or it is DANGEROUS. Fortunately it isn't nearby. Which annoys me. But is a good thing. I allow myself 2 trips per year.

I like UO as well though won't let myself go in there...too old. But I really should look there for Kendall, hadn't really thought about it as an option and I don't think she's gone there on her own. I'm less than thrilled with a couple of the stores she really likes these days although to be fair the stuff she picks is ok. So far.

I am not beneath using the tears to my advantage especially with those that caused them in the first place...hehehehe....

Oh you so need a Presidential Fandex...a. you love history b. you will pick up great cocktail party nuggets...:lmao:

Those pandas where might cute...I almost bought one...due to weather conditions-I wound up buying most of my stuff in Japan...but I'm with you...I'm all about the Pandas and Manatees myself...(and the Koalas too...:goodvibes

JOHN ADAMS is the best...I LOVE IT...I've only seen the first two episodes-I can't wait for the next one to come from Netflix...I have to check out the book too...:thumbsup2...so well done anyone who likes history should check it out...

I'm so glad the tears didn't last long, and that you got to use them to your advantage! ;)

I'd like to try a KP Mission; hopefully it won't be wierd that I'm doing it without kids!

Denise

Denise-if I were going back without the kids-I'd probably run though all the missions...lots of fun-plenty of adults doing them...:thumbsup2

Rabbit is my guy :thumbsup2...that's why we are the founding members of the Jack Prelutsky poetry club w/baby yeti as our mascot and Alice and Hatter are only allowed to join if they take it as seriously as we do...:snooty:

Morocco is truly lovely-it was really lovingly done...you can tell they really put in the work when constructing it...

I have a feeling that Connor would love the Presidential fandex...:thumbsup2

Yeah...I felt a little sorry at first (and I forgot to pick up part of Anita's quote about it being his favorite country and all that...) but I have to admire David's tenacity-he wasn't giving up trying to put his two cents in...I do think the CM actually had to acknowledge him (begrudgingly) a couple of times...:lmao:...despite his obvious desire to ignore him...:confused3

I agree, your daughter is a beautiful young woman. I can see why that Chinese CM was trying to teach your family (her) Chinese. But poor Rabbit! He didn't realize it was all a ruse.:rotfl:

Pandas are one of Amelia's loves. She has panda everything and loved your China pictures with all of the pandas.:lovestruc

Thanks Alice is really a great girl and now that she's going to be 15-its just different-all of you with the 11, 12 & 13 year olds...hehehehe...just wait and see what a difference a couple of years makes...

Initially I don't think Rabbit even cared and he definitely didn't notice that this guy was trying to talk w/his sister...he thought the Chinese lesson was all about Chinese not...anything else...(like oh- my big sis is cute and this dude is trying to chat her up a bit...

again-he's taking this guy at face value for what he's saying...not necessarily his intention...;)

He is a patriotic little guy (in the very best sense of the word-he's proud of being American but also fascinated by different cultures...)-it was really cute watching him pledge the flag-it was serious business to him...:goodvibes

I think the King of Morocco actually sent people from Morocco to do the tiling...

I'm with Amelia-who doesn't love pandas?...:goodvibes

Not to hijack but the thing I love about John Adams best is that Marc isn't that into History, he indulges but he genuinely loved the mini series. We are planning a trip to John Adams' farm next summer, it's really close to us. I can't wait to hear how you like the rest of the episodes!
