OMG....what can I say that hasn't been said already. The 1br. was great. Just having a kitchen and a washer dryer was perfect. I can't see us ever going back to a studio. We had room 2511 facing the pool. This area was very quiet. I think maybe we heard a person in the hallway once during the whole stay.
Let me first say that the only dissapointment in the whole trip was staying at the AS Sports for the first night. I figured that getting in late afternoon on a Friday did not warrent borrowing points from next year to do. Also I wanted to take advantage of the ME system. Staying offsite the first night wouldn't work. The resort was equivalent to a Motel 6. Hey, I don't want to come off as a snob but we had another family meeting us there and they had the same opinion. The resort was dirty, loud, walls seemed paper thin, the food court slow and the cm's less than enthusiastic. It wasn't even a busy time of the year. Can't see us ever staying there again. Are all the value resorts this way? I guess I expected better being that it's a Disney property.
Well back to our week at VWL. After heading over Saturday morning, we took off to Magic Kingdom. We had a great time there. I had We Go Shop deliver groceries while at the park. They shopped at Walmart and got everything on the list with the exception of some fruit. Great service, I would highly reccommend them.
Some of the highlights of our week were:
Lunch at Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern, Mama Melroses, Rain Forest Cafe, and the Brown Derby.
Dinner at Hoop de Doo, The Coral Reef and Artist Point.
Doing Star Wars Weekends and watching our friend's son do the Jedi Academy, doing a lot of the rides over again because of short lines, riding Saorin, and 6yo dd riding TOT and RRRC for the first time.
Spending a lot of time at the pools late afternoon and soaking in the hot tubs after a long day of walking.
Enjoying the tranquil lobby of the Villas and sitting next to the fireplace with my dd while rocking back and forth.
Dissappointments were:
The AS Sports resort, having time fly by too fast at the Villas.
Just one other comment, ME worked fine for us. The whole trip from the time we got off the airplane to the resort took about 1 hour. Very nice busses. We received our luggage about 2 and a half hours later. I would use it again.
Any questions, please ask.
I can't wait for our return trip in a couple years. This time we plan on having enough points accumulated to get a 2br and invited my mom and sister. Can't wait to treat them!

Sounds like a fun trip! Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.

Oh, I forgot one other thing. Stitches Great Escape is totally worth skipping. It could have been soooo much better. Kinda bummed on this.

Ah, the old DVC trap! One we fell into immediately and then it got worse. Now we vacation in a 2BR for the four of us. Having two bathrooms (with myself and two daughters) makes a wonderful difference in the relaxation part of our trips! :)

Be careful when you reserve that 2BR....and for heaven's sakes don't get near a GV!! :teeth:

Glad that you enjoyed your trip, and VWL.

Yeah, I know it's a trap! Talk about spoiling. I can't imagine OKW. I hear these rooms are even bigger.

I agree 100% with your assesment of AS Sports.

We refer that place as "the accident". Never again........

Sounds like your trip was a fun one. Thanks for sharing. :wave2:

Have you tried any of the other value resorts? Is it just Sports that needs work? My friend is planning on going in the fall and I had already tried to steer her away from value resorts.

We gave Music a try. A teeny bit better, but not much.
My swan song for the values. We would rather stay off site or at a Mod.

Glad you enjoyed VWL. Our family loved it there too. We are staying at BCV in July. You had mentioned you had your groceries delivered by We Go Shop. Can you please give me some info regarding that service? We will be staying for 9 days so that would be an awesome time saver. Thanks again for any help you can provide. :flower:

hessekids: I think you can go to wegoshop.com and find information about it. Just click on Florida and then Orlando and you can find the info you need. I know they are closed for a week at the end of July/beginning of Aug. - hope that doesn't interfere with your trip.
