Hi all~

My mother, son and I went on a quick 4 day trip to WDW and stayed at the VWL and loved it. I have to say that going in June wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. The weather was hot, but we brought mister fans and drank plenty of water. We got to the parks first thing in the morning and left in the afternoon when it was really hot. We only got caught in the thunder storms one time and it only lasted about 20 minutes. We were able to get a lot of rides done before the heavy crowds hit. I think the longest we waited in line was 30 minutes. My son loved going back to the resort for swimming breaks in the afternoon and then we would return to the parks in the evening.

The highlight of the trip for him was being able to wake up Tinkerbell. He was given a sword to wake her up and a special certiifcate. They really made it a special experience for him.

Any questions, please let me know.

By the way, the poor guy has now developed a double ear infection and strep throat.

Now, I can start thinking/planning for our first Disney Cruise in late November.

sounds like you had a magical time. Sorry you're back. It stinks huh.

Welcome back! Sounds like a great trip. I hope that you son feels better soon! :wizard:

What is "waking up Tinkerbell?"

At Tinkerbell's Treasures, if you are the first one to ask to wake up tinkerbell your child is given a wand or a sword and they have to tap on the treasure box and yell Wake up Tinkerbell....she will fly out of the box. My son was also given a certificate as well.

Glad you had a Magical trip and pixie dust to your son hope he fels better.

How was the waits for the rides? Were the FP's still available in the afternoon? I keep hearing how crowded the parks are and I'm getting really scared.....I know how July is crowd-wise, but from what the other disers say, it is much worse this year.

What did you experience? BTW, we are the kind of people that get to the park a little before opening on non-EMH days....

We got to the parks a little before opening on non-EMH days. We were able to ride a lot of rides by about 1pm. We used some fast passes in the mornings and it worked out well. They still had fast passes in the afternoon, but the return time was about 2-3 hours later. In the afternoon when it was super crowded we went back to the hotel to swim and then returned for the evening. With getting to the park first thing we were able to ride most rides with minimal waits. The longest we waited for a ride was 30 minutes. We were able to ride the following at MK with minimal waits:

day 1: Thunder Mountain
Splash Mountain
Jungle Cruise
Pirates of the Caribean
Buzz lightyear
Dumbo
It's a small world
Tommorow Land Transit

day 2: Peter pan
Winnie the Pooh
Tea cups
Thunder Mountain
Splash Mountain x 2
Tommorrow land transit

We were also able to ride Soarin', Spaceship Earth, Test Track, Maelstrom, Journey into Imagination, El Rio Tempo at Epcot.

I hope that you have a wonderful trip in July!!
