WOW!!

That word doesn't truely cover this past week actually. It was beyond wow! Dana did her usual awesome BEST for our group. Thank you is just not enough for all her hard work. But we are truely thankful Dana. You are the best!!

So, Here's how it went for us.

Well, to begin with, I was kinda worried about my sister who has all the phobia's known to man. You name it, she's more than likely got it. Especially motion/sea sickness. Well, she wore those little armbands, and they worked fantastic for her. She never even took the Dramammine she brought.

When she and her hubby first stepped on shipped and were welcomed as only Disney can do, she started to cry. She just couldn't believe they were there. Besides it was their first vacation in over 25 years.

We went to Beach Blanket buffet and had lunch, then we went to Studio Sea and picked up our 1st RSP merch. and goodies. The sand pail and all was a cute touch. Nice T-shirt too!.The map is huge and really nice. It will be a bit tricky to frame.

We then went to our cabins. I had a special Basket delivered to their room as well as the "Bon Voyage" package. They were surprised and overwhelmed. And, my sister cried again.

Then before you knew it, it was time for the "sail away, Celebration". So up we went to deck 9 to join the celebration. It was great as always. We did something we never tried before. We went all the way to the front of the ship to see where we were going. It was great! We also went to the rear of the boat. The sun was just starting to set, and we got some beautiful pictures of it. Breath-taking!! Sis cried again.

Then, wow! It was time to get ready for dinner. We ate at Triton's our first night. My only regreat as far as dinner rotation went was, I wish we could have known for sure about the Capyain's and Artist choice pins being on RSP's. I would have booked Palo's for the first night had I known. But we didn't want to be in Palo's of all places and leave for pins!!
And we were told there was a special dinner for Pin event goers and wednesday at Triton's, so we booked on tuesday night, and had to for-go Parrot Cay which I like more then Animators Palate food wise. Both of them are beautiful to see and of course the "special-ness" of Animator's is indescribable!!

That first night we went and saw the Golden Mickey's show. It was very good, but still not my favorite. Actually, I liked "Who Wants to be a Mousekateer" better. After the show, we went to Wave Bands for 70's night. We got to work off dinner and be entertained by John Travolta. Sorry, guys, but it's hard to beat the "act" Fred did on last years May pin cruise. He was the "BOMB"

The next day we went into Nassau. We visited some of the shops and I finally broke town and bought a pretty Tanzanite ring. They're not getting any cheaper as it is almost "mined out". Then I found the prettiest Christmas table cover. Just beautiful with lace inlays and embroidery. Then we headed for the straw market. It was fun. We met, chatted and bought from mama Lou. A real sweety.

Then it was back to the ship. We were beat!! A full day. My sister and I went to the conference room and did some trading. My sister did her very first trade with Howard from California. She was kinda nervous, but she and Howard got along just dandy! We then went to our cabins, woke up hubby's, and got ready for dinner. We dined at Animator's Palette. My sister got a surprise after commenting to our head server about the fried Camambert and how delicious it was the night before. The head server brought her some from the other restaurant. And since we were going to miss Parrot Cay the next night our table hostess brought us my favorite dessert from there, "Creme Brulee'" cheesecake. To die for!!!

After dinner we changed into casual cloths agin and went on deck to listen to Ben and Dana sing. It was nice. Then we went and stood in line for what seemed forever! After getting our rsp items, we took them to our room. My sister and her hubby retired for the night. Fred and I went to Kareoke at wave bands, cam corder in hand!!! hehehe!!! We got video of Edd and Michelle doing "baby got back'. Sorry I only got the tail end of it. Also got Laurie ( tinkerbell129) singing "Crazy", Ed singing, and hubby got me doing "I Will Always Love You", the Ken doing his THANG! The I got Ed doing a solo and then him singing with Britt about "MAMA"!! Too funny. Boy what I could get for this video! Any takers?

Afterwards, our guys went to bed and sis and I went to pin trading. We were there till 2AM. We were wiped out!! Slept like a baby.

Next day, Freeport. Been there, done that! We stayed on the ship for the day. It was Mickey's Birthday!! After breakfast, De and John went one way, me and Fred went to the Culinary Demo at Studio Sea. And I was chosen to play "CHEF"! It was great fun! And the Shrimp Zuchinni Risotto wasn't bad either. Then it was time for napkin folding. Also fun.

Afterward we went to the Disney theatre for the second seminar. It was very informative and we saw many interesting pictures and where Jeff and Michelle work as well as their co-workers and items they work on. Yes, they do other things besides pins. At the end we got to ask questions. I asked Michelle about the many Walt pins she has done, which are some of my favorites. After answering my question, she asked me one. "what is the name of Minnie's dog?" NOT A CLUE!! But the answer came from heaven, I answered and was given a drwaing of mad Donald by Jeff. I was thrilled!!

We then had lunch at Beach Blanket buffet again. Afterwards we went to Disney Theatre and saw "Brother Bear". It was Dee and John's first time to see it, our second. It was just as great. I love this movie. We were given a button that says "I saw it first on the Disney Wonder". Pretty cool. We went back to our cabins and took a much needed nap. The got ready for dinner at Palo's.

Palo's was just FAB!! It was our third time there, but I do belive it was the best. Our server, Nico, was just so wonderful. I got to see Chef Patrick again, and he even came to our table to meet everyone and share a photo opp with us. All in all, a most wonderful evening. Of course the chocolate souffle' was to die for!! Following dinner we went to see Hercule's show. Enjoyed it very much.

Did some shopping at Mickey's Mates. The our guys went to bed and left us girls to our own madness. We went to Barrel of Laughs and learned the beer song. Mind you, neither one of drink beer or any alcohol for that matter. Even sober, they were too funny!! Loved it! Okay time for bed, It's midnight!!

Wake up! Time for fun in the sun at Castaway Cay!!! Got up had breakfast and went ashore. We enjoyed all the photo opps as we headed for beach. We got our snorkling gear and headed for water. Brrrrr.... it was cold at first. We were out there snorkling for at least 2 hours. I was the only one to hang in there and find Mickey at the Helm under water. I got some great pictures. Wish I knew how to post them. They are wonderful. Anyway, when I got back I was so tired. I layed on beach for awhile and relaxed with everyone.

Then we went to Cookie's BBQ for lunch. I had a virgin Konk cooler. YUM!! Got it in a cool class to keep as well. My sister got attaked by a swarm of ants, and my brother in law got stuck by a sea anemnie. Both had to go to first aid. OUCH!!! That was memorable! LOL!

We headed back to ship but mailed some post cards on the way. Hopefully we'll get these. We did it on may 2002 cruise and are still waiting for them to arrive! LOL! Anyway, we got showers rested and packed some of our things up to get ready for pick up that night.

Then we went to dinner at Triton's again. It was a different menu from first night. We all agreed we like the other menu better. Although desserts from both are terrific. I dared Amber again, and she got all 5 desserts. So much for her diet!
After dinner, it was time for "Disney Dreams". I have missed this show the last 2 cruises, and FINALLY saw it. It was just as wonderful as described. I loved it as did all of us.

Afterwards, the Dee and John poopd out on us. Fred and I went to conference room and were trading till 2 AM. It was fun as usuall, and I got some fantastic pins, especially from MarC and Yuko. I love the Japanese pins. And I got 2 prototypes of Pooh pins from MarC.

The next morning came to fast and it was time to leave our "fantasy". Back to reality. ALthough not completely as we headed for WDW.

We got to Kissimmee and checked into our condo for the weekend. We had to get everything unpacked again and Fred got ready for the "Vet of the Day" ceremony.

We got to the Magic Kingdom at 4PM and check in with City Hall. We met Brett and Skip from Security. At 5PM the ceremony started and Fred looked wonderful in his Navy uniform.
Sadly, Halland did not make it as one of his alias's had to peform at Fort Wilderness. He was greatly missed, but Security officer Skip filled in for us at the last minute. And he did a wonderful job. He presented Fred with a letter of congradulations former President Bush, as well as a flag with certificate that was flown over the Navy Memorial in Washington DC on September 11, 2003. It was beyond words. And I was/am so very proud to be his wife.

Many of our pins friends were there, Ed,Donna,Michelle,Manny,June,Bob,Micheal,Corey,Howard and his wife,Nat,Sandy,Vince and his wife,And many others whose names have left me. Please forgive me. And of course my family, Dee,John,Beth,Chrissy,Jessie,Meagan,Amber. We thank everyone who shared this magical moment with us. It is beyond words how much it meant to Fred and I. We got some wonderful pictures. Perhaps I can e-mail them to someone who can post them for me. I am no good at that I'm afraid.

And of course Fred was awarded a certificate and pin from WDW for being Vet of the Day.

I could go on and on. It was just a wonderful week. And one I will cherish forever. Many thanks to all my pins friends both old and new for all the magic and memories. I only wish I could have met more of you.

Blessings to all,
Winnie

Thank you Winnie for sharing your wonderful trip.

I love to read about everyone's adventures.

I was suppose to be there, and through your words I got to enjoy a little bit of the trip.

I missed seeing everyone, but maybe next year.

Glad you had such a wonderful time - and I love your sister - she cries just like me.

Darlene
