can't wait to go back :rotfl:

Had an awesome trip - here are some of our highs and lows

Highs

The weather - I luv that heat
Magic Kingdom
Cinnabons
The shopping - we filled a suitcase full of shoes :scared1:
Shamu
Xmas shop at Downtown Disney
The Saturn 5 Rocket at Kennedy
Cinnabons
Terminator2 3D at Universal Studios
First visit to Hard Rock Cafe
Islands of Adventure - everything:yay:
By the way, did I mention Cinnabons

Lows

The weather - we arrived in the middle of Fay - wow! the rain!!
I-Drive - the part we were in was like the Golden Mile at Blackpool - tacky
Free shuttle to the parks - the seats were like buckets and broken aircon
:sad2:

Fabulous holiday and DH is happy for me to start planning trip no3 :lmao:

It's always nice to hear of people having a good time! I am a fan of cinnabon too. They used to have one in Southampton but it was shut down a few years ago. Boo to that :-( Haha.

Welcome home, glad there were more highs than lows.
Totally agree with Idrive, can think of nowhere worse to stay in Orlando.
Next time stay at LBV, we have stayed most areas and LBV beats them all.

There's a non-tacky part of I-Drive? (excepting the far south when the shops stop!)

And hey! I like blackpool. 'Tis tacky and cheesy, but gotta love the Pepsi Max Big One!

:goodvibes

Glad you had a great hol! I stayed at the Holiday Inn I-Drive for my first trip to Orlando 17 years ago :woohoo: Totally agree about the shoes!!! :goodvibes

shhhh :lmao: :rotfl:

Welcome home Anne-that seemed to have gone quick.Glad you had a good time.
Any update on Holiday Inn-what's it like now?Forgetting about the area you were in would you stay at the Hoilday Inn again?.

We love I-Drive,(and no i can't stand Blackpool-that IS tacky :lmao: ).I love all the restaurants right on your doorstep-no matter where you seem to stay, love the little bars, mini golf and i do like the little gift shops-although to be honest we are not out late at night there, always back in our hotel by 8-9pm.x.

Thanks for the welcome back Michelle. I don’t think the Holiday Inn will have changed much from the last time you stayed.

Plus points – very spacious and clean rooms (we stayed in the tower), comfy beds, fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, safe, iron + board; friendly and helpful staff; great location for I-Trolley and Lynx buses; nice food in Front Street Café; could walk to Ponderosa, Golden Coral, IHOP and TGI Friday.

Minus points – the whole place badly needs an up-date and make-over, it’s clean but old & tatty. Our room was damp – soggy carpets outside the door in the atrium and inside where rain had blown in through the aircon unit. Admittedly this was in the middle if TS Fay but it did take until our second week for things to dry out. The free shuttles were a nightmare – broken seats and no air-con. The times were good for Universal – 8.30 but silly for WDW- 7.30 for MK and 11.30 for AK, Epcot and DHS. We didn’t like the gift shops across the road where your bag was searched when you went in or the mini-golf that kept baby alligators for the “tourists” to feed.

We wouldn’t stay in this part of I-Drive again – it wasn’t for us. Would we stay with this Holiday Inn again – hmmmnnnn – yes, if they upgraded the décor and shuttle service.

glad you had a great time Anne!! have to agree about i-drive - even though we have never stayed there, driving along it is just enough for us. we always stay in villas- love the freedom, though wayneg has pointed out some lovely hotels to us in lbv we may be tempted to stay in one when we go on our own again.

Completley agree with your info on Holiday Inn-it has all of the above which alot of people want+like in a room, but when we was there the decor was tatty+deffinatley needed a make-over.I thought it would have been done since we last went in 2004.We also stayed in the tower, but never had any trouble with dampness. The shuttles seem to have gone down hill then-we had much more choice-always made rope drop at each theme park.I also don'nt agree with African Congo Mini Golf with the baby gators :sad2:
We will still continue to stay on I-Drive(unless our circumstances change-our main issue is we don't drive+this suits us)but will continue to stay at the Southern End-towards Seaworld-it is completley different down there to the 'main' part of I-Drive.x.

I didnt even realise there was one in Southampton and I'm from there!

Where is Cinnabons in Orlando? I keep seeing it mentioned and I'm convinced I NEED to go there as well:rotfl2:

There's a few about. Easiest one for you to go to would probably be at citywalk Universal Studios.
