Just got back from our two day aniversary trip to Delft
We had a great time and the weather was lovely! Flight out was delayed due to a technical fault on the aircraft, so they had to fly another one in! We were 2 hours late taking off. Then when we arrived, there was something wrong with the trains, so we had a change at Leiden rather than getting a direct intercity train.
Hotel was very nice and within walking distance of the centre of Delft. We seemed to spend most of Monday afternoon walking, eating and drinking
We had a nice dinner at an Argentinian Steakhouse
Today we went to a Delft pottery factory and got a guided tour. Then we went to the seaside
We headed to Scheveningen and had a stroll along the prom and out onto the pier. We had a coffee at a beachside cafe and lunch at another restaurant on the prom - another lovely steak
Flight home was actually early taking off! A first for any BMIBaby flight I've been on.
Even with the train problems on the first day I'm still so impressed with the Dutch transport system. We spent just 42 on train and tram tickets. That was two 40 minute train journeys, and all our tram journeys between Den Haag HS Station, Delft and the Seaside.
Every train and tram was dead on time - why can't we manage it in this country?
