Back from Summerfield Suites LBV....

Just wanted to thank everyone on this board for their info. We loved the Summerfield Suites. We stayed at the HIFS last time and liked this much better. Much more room for the 5 of us and 2 bathrooms were great. We got it for $125/night, comparable to what we paid for HIFS. Pool was nice, location was great. It was so close to DD. Great restraunts in walking distance as well as pharmacy, grocery store and medical clinic.

Thanks for the help in selecting it. I am glad I did.

The Summerfield Suites LBV (and there is also a SS on International Drive) is on the corner of Apoka-Vineland and Suiteside Drive, less than a 5-minute drive from DD (but a LONG walk!), about half a mile north of the Crossroads plaza. I was there 2 weeks ago and was also impressed with the spaciousness of the suites and the smart nature of the whole property. Excellent vfm, IMHO (especially at $125!).

What kind of breakfast did they have compared to the HIFS???TIA

HIFS was better. SS only had cold cereal, toast, english muffins, assorted muffins, fruit, juices and coffee. They would make omlets or belgium waffles for $3.50 extra. It was good enough for us. HIFS has more of a hot buffet and much more variety.

My friends just got back from there and hated it! They checked into a room with a broken wall clock. A ununiformed man showed up late at night offering a new sheet, and it turns out he did work for them. Their room was never cleaned property or on time.

Which resort did you friend just get back from. The summerfield or HIFS???

We thought the SS was exceptionally clean. I have small kids so that was big with me. The kitchen was imaculate. Our room was cleaned late in the day, but I think that was just based on our location in the complex. We found the staff very friendly. We needed to switch our feather pillows for foam (husband is allergic to feathers) and they were very friendly and prompt.

I've stayed at both SS locations many times, never had a problem. I find it a great hotel for the price and space.
