Yes, we met Tyler!

He was working the Front Desk when we checked in on the 16th. Tyler is a super nice guy in person just as he is on this board. I may have been one of the first to learn of his transfer back to transportation before he announced it on the board. Sorry to see him leave POP because he is such a huge asset to this resort.
Now for a brief review of POP.
We arrived on the 16th around 1:30 pm. Check-in was a breeze and we were in our room within 1 hour. Luggage assistance met us as we arrived in our towncar (
FL Tours) and we never touched it again until it arrived in the room (also within 1 hour).
We found POP to be an excellent resort especially with children. Our DD12 and DS9 had an awesome time and we would definitely stay there again. We requested in advance, the 50's or 70's when we made our ressie with CRO. It was noted on the ressie and we did not fax an additional request to the resort. The CM who checked us in gave us the option of either the 50's or 70's just as we had requested. We chose the 50's building A 4th floor and it was extremely quiet even though the resort appeared to be very busy.
Our room size was adequate and did not seem to be as small as we had imagined. The biggest fault i found with the room was the opening of the door into the room. It opened real close to the bed but presented no major problems for us. There was an iron and full-size ironing board in the room also but no refrig. (which is $10 extra per night). Because we spent the majority of time at the parks, we did not rent the refrig. but purchased a styrofoam cooler at Publix for $2.99 and kept a minimal amount of ice in it just for sodas, water and snacks.
The food court and shopping area (better known as "Everything POP") was also adequate for a weeks stay. We found the food to be ok but nothing fancy and the prices were typical disney. We did notice a few folks using non-disney mugs for refills but the majority were abiding by the policy.
Bus transportation was excellent. The only time i can remember waiting over 10 minutes was once and that was going to the MK. For the return buses back to POP, the MK bus was the longest wait but not more than 15 min. for us. When we returned from MK after the parade and fireworks, there were 2 buses back to back within a couple of minutes of each other.
The Arcade area for the kids was a real pleaser! Games are played and the kids collect tickets for their winnings. The tickets can be redeemed for various gifts. My DD and DS collected over 3,500 points during our stay and we almost had to buy another suitcase to bring all the items home!
Although on previous trips we have only stayed at a moderate resort, this was our first stay at a value resort and were extremely pleased with the choice.
On a scale of 1-10 for value resorts, we would rate POP a 10. This is an excellent resort for the money and is laid out wonderfully.
I'll be happy to answer any questions about POP that i am able to.
Glad to be back on the boards and back to the planning stages for our next Disney Vacation on
Disney Cruise Lines
