My family just came back from POFQ we stayed
there from 7/29 thru 8/3. This was our first time
staying onsite and we absolutely loved this place!
Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the nicest people
at the check in. We asked at the last minute of course
if we could have rooms close by with my dh's family, they did
a quick check and lo and behold they gave us adjoining rooms.
We stayed in building 3 on the second floor and we loved
everything, the room was very clean, and within a few minutes we
were at the pool, gift shop, food, etc....
I'd also like to thank each of you who posted opinions/pictures on
POR and POFQ because of you we decided to make this our
5th trip back to FL and you made choosing POFQ a definate winner
in our opinion! Any questions feel free to ask.

I'm so glad you loved it there. I'll be there in three days. It makes me happy when people love the Port Orleans Resort.

Tell me how the crowds were. We went 7-20-07 to 7-28 and they were horrible.

So happy to read yet another positive review of POFQ. Our first stay there is in october and we are extremely excited to finally try this resort. Previously there have been so many bad reports about FQ but lately the reviews all seem to be pretty darn good. I can't wait to see for myself. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Glad to hear another positive review of POFQ - we were there last Aug. and fell in love with it too:love: . We will be returning in 2 weeks and can hardly wait!!

So nice to hear! We are going in March and it is our first POFQ stay. What can you tell me about the buses? That is always one of my big concerns. Were the wait times reasonable?

As far as the crowds, I guess they were typical of a late July early
August trip. Around the resort it really wasn't bad at all, we always found
a place to eat at the food court, the pool wasn't over crowded at all and when we took the boat ride to dtd on tuesday around 1 p.m. our family
were the only ones on there. We only did 2 parks Epcot on Monday 30th
and to me it wasn't that bad but on Wed 8/1 when we went to Animal
Kingdom, that was a different story, that place was very packed!

That is something we found with POFQ this past March is it just doesn't seem crowded, at all. When we were there it was at 90-95% capacity (springbreak) and we never would have known. The pool was never crowded, the food court was never crowded, etc. The buses were great. I think twice we drove over to POR to pick up and that was it. We were always the first on the bus stop to be picked up headed for the parks and the first to be dropped off. We loved it so much we have booked it for this next spring also.
We thought about trying other resorts but POR doesn't appeal to us, CBR's main pool will be closed next spring and CSR only has Junior Suites available during our stay...it would have been $2,500 more!!!!
So POFQ here we come!!!

We were there at the same time you were! We loved it too. It is funny...we may have been next to you in the pool and we never knew!

My daughter really got into the pin trading this time and the cast members at POFQ could not have been nicer to her. They bring out a big cork board between 5 and 5:30 everyday to trade with the kids. She was thrilled because they had the pins from the dream lanyard on the board and she traded for them. The CMs in the gift shop were also great.

Hi JulieJo :wave2: That is funny knowing 2 diser's were there at the same
time and we probably saw each other and never knew it. My son also
got into the pin trading for the 1st time this year, so we frequented the
gift shop almost daily. You could have possibly saw me and my family
right in front of the gift shop at the bench ( smoking section) where we
would find my brother in law when we couldn't find him lol. Good to hear you
had a great time as well! What building where you in?

Hi to you also :wave2: This was our first time using buses, all other times we stayed offsite and drove to the parks ourselves, so I too was a lil apprehensive about using the buses. I was overall very happy with the bus schedules, the longest we had to wait at our bus stop at the resort going to Animal Kingdom was about 10 minutes, and the ride to the park itself didn't take long at all. It was just plain and simple nice!! When our family members didn't want to stay at the parks as long as we did, they just hopped on the bus and back to POFQ they went lol. I can only think of one day the bus
being crowded and people were standing, so my dh gave his seat to a woman
and her daughter who were standing, poor kid looked so tired.
Good luck to you.

We were in building 4. It was the perfect location for us. I really wish I was still there. I am a teacher and immediately after vacation I have been immersed in getting ready to go back to school. I want my vacation feeling back! I am feeling stress again!
