Back from DL and stay at CCI

Oh, I love to read about magical trips! So glad you had a good time!

:drinking1

Great recap. :thumbsup2

I'm also a CCI fan. Wannabe......was the smaller pool at CCI an issue for your group?

Did you take the "first" shuttle in the morning (to DL)? If so, what time did it drop you off at security? (the two times i stayed, we decided to walk to security/turnstiles because it wouldn't get us there till :40 (& i wanted to be there at :20).

Isn't the shuttle GREAT for mid day rests?

& How much more would you pay for a room at the CCI (biggest bennies being the shuttle & the free b'fast) than at Hojos? I'd probably pay $35 per night more. Curious what others who've stayed at both would do.

Thanks again.

:)

You know, it was surprising about the pool because when we pulled in, my girls remarked on how small the pool was, but after being in it every day, we all thought it was just as fun if not more because it just wasn't as busy as the HOJOs pool. I asked everyone which place they liked better and hands down, it was CCI. We paid quite a bit more and would again. We paid $164 per night plus a $10 rollaway fee. My DD14 said it was comfortable and we just moved where they have the table and chairs and put it there and there was plenty of room for 5 IMO.

We took the 7:30AM shuttle the first morning (Fri), and we probably the 15th people in line. On MM, we were crazy tired, so we didn't catch the shuttle until 7am and got to our first ride at 7:20; I asked the family if they could believe how relaxed I was with this trip that I didn't make them be on the 6:30 shuttle, lol. I just couldn't. My poor girls looked so sleepy that I let them "sleep in". :)

What came in your breakfast?

That is great you were there for the soft open of GSS.

We got a large coffee carafe (We put 5 coffees on our form), toasted bagels with cream cheese that you can put on, cereal in containers, a few doughnuts and muffins, bananas, oranges, an apple, orange juice, milk, and instant oatmeal. Oh and raspberry yogurt my DH really enjoyed. We could have gotten chocolate milk or hot chocolate for the kids, but we didn't. The doughnuts and muffins are very small, which was good. The cereal choices were raisin bran, fruit loops (which we put in our backpack), Rice Krispies, and I think there was one more, but I can't remember it. It wasn't great, but it worked well for us until we could get to the fruit cart by Splash and then Bengal BBQ. :)

Dobie and rentayenta - Thanks!

RedRosie - Thank you for finding the link!!!

Oh, and just an FYI, but where the yellow fire hydrant is allows a very quick exit out of WofC to get to the front of the park. Of course, my DD14 remembered we had FPs for ToT so we had to ride that on the way out.

You're a softer touch than me. :lmao:

But for those who don't absolutely/positively have to be first at the turnstiles, the CCI 6:30am shuttle (7:30am on non-MM days) works GREAT. (but if you HAVE to be at security at :20am.....then it's an easy 8-9 min. stroll)

I also especially like the dedicated shuttle for mid day breaks (always empty).

Like you, i enjoyed the CCI pool (& didn't need the fancier but more kid oriented pool at Hojo).

Thanks for responding mermaidwannabe & great report. :thumbsup2

:)

Thanks for the report. If I stay offsite, I plan to stay at CCI and love to read good reviews!

thanks for the report...we will be at CCI in 10 days, and staying in premium room for the first time (for me), so the info is much appreciated.:goodvibes

We were in the very back of the property, Room 243 right by the Carsland construction, but we heard nothing over there. Not a peep. It was very quiet when we were there, which was early in the morning and for 3-4 hours in the afternoon. So quiet in fact that all 5 of us fell asleep for 2 hours on two of the days we were there. It's so funny because I never nap. Neither does my DH or kids. I loved being back there. I think most of them are back there because I saw the continental breakfast form hung on the doorknobs of a few other rooms by us.
