We are home from Disneyland. We were there this past Monday-Thursday, coming home on Friday.

We drove out from Phoenix and stayed at the Sheraton Park hotel. We brought our dog with us, a sweet and silly Corgi. Since we had our dog, we were limited to only the ground floor rooms at the hotel, but, it was still nice. there are 5 rooms next to each other and the patios all go to a grassy yard that is enclosed by tall trees. allows our dog to do his business in peace without having to deal with distractions from people walking back and forth. No nightly fee, only a non refundable $50 dog cleaning fee was required.

The rooms were a bit small, but for 2 adults and a dog, it was fine. My only complaint is the fridge is pretty tiny, but all we had was water and canned soda, so not the end of the world for us. The rooms were always cleaned without issues. Before we get into our room, my DH is a germophobe, so he will take lysol wipes and do his own mini cleaning. never found anything icky, no bugs, no dirt. Rooms were pretty darn clean.

Our room was pretty soundproof, only thing we ever heard was this 1 loud guy who was in the room across the hall from us. We always heard him talking. When I say loud, I do mean loud. we never heard any of his friends that were in his party, only heard him. We think he was part of a convention that was staying at the hotel. Never heard any other voices, just his.

we used the Disneyland Kennel Club for our 4 days. Never had a single issue getting our dog a spot. the place is very clean and has a very nice yard that the dogs can play in. as long as other dogs were not in the yard, we were able to take our dog off his leash. a few times throughout the day, the yard is shut down for a cleaning, but never shut down that long. The kennel will not walk your dog, so you do sign off on the form that you will return every 3-5 hours to walk your own dog. they will feed the dog and provide water, but they will not play with the dogs. no big deal, because we would plan our meals around visiting our baby. we would visit him 2-3 times a day, depending on when the parks closed. the yard has 2 benches so we would sit on the bench while our baby walked the yard and did his business. We would bring him back to the kennel without any issues. he apparently didn't have any issues either, because he willingly went to the kennels and willingly wanted to say hi to the girls who worked the facility. only thing we had to deal with, when we walked away from putting him in the kennel, he would bark, but the girls all said, once we were gone, he would calm down and try taking naps.

my DH dropped me off at the drop off zone off of Harbor. Gave me time to walk our dog to the kennel, do the bag check in, and then go into the park and get a locker for our backpack. the drop off zone was way closer than the parking garage. however, in the evening when it was much cooler, we would take our baby on the tram to the parking garage. no problems with taking him on the tram.

most people thought it was funny we brought out dog to the parks, but only 1 person was on the rude side. i don't think he realized he said to his wife, 'who brings a dog to disneyland?', i looked up, we were in the bag check in line and his wife hit him on his shoulder. so, i said, its only $20 a day vs $60 a night at petsmart and we have access to check on him, so we're the people who bring a dog to disney. he turned red. it's true. Petsmart hotel is $60 a night, vs $20 at disneyland and we have full access to our baby. like i said, we will be bringing him with us again.

Monday, we got there around 4pm, so the parks were crowded, but not overly crowded. i guess because it was a holiday,, locals probably were starting to leave when we got there. only a few lines at disneyland were extremely long. we didn't go to CA on monday. we were able to walk around with ease and got on the rides we wanted to.

Tuesday was less crowded and we did both parks. Forget Carsland! My goodness...there were lines just to get to the line for RSR. Everytime we walked by, the lines were at least 2 hours long and each day by noon, the fastpasses were gone. however, each day, RSR was down at least once. Actually on Thursday, it was down 2 times, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. The afternoon time, the ride got stuck and we saw the workers getting people off the rides. So, we never did the Carsland rides. Would have liked to, but standing in line for 2 hours and then taking the risk the ride won't break down wasn't worth it to us. maybe next year, we'll get a chance to ride the rides, but this year, no.

tuesday night was the MHP and that was fun. The cast members were all over the place checking wrist bands. The party started at 6pm and even at 8pm, cast members were still asking to see the wrist bands. Because it was just my DH and me, we had no interest in the candy lines, so we didn't get a single piece of candy. we were there for the rides and characters. Mickey and Minnie had an hour wait line just for their pictures in their costumes. we skipped that, but did get to meet Woody, Pooh, Eeyore, and Jack Sparrow. The rides....at 5pm, an hour before the party, Space Mountain had a 75 minute wait. at 6:30pm, the wait was 15 minutes. We ended up doing Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Space Mountain each once. We did Thunder Railroad 4 times, Star Tours 2 times and I can't remember which other rides we did. The longest wait time we had....standing in line to meet the characters! Jack Sparrow was about 30 minutes, mainly because he played around with everyone. Woody was probably about 30 minutes too. Pooh and Eeyore was about 15 minutes. So, we stood in line longer for the characters than we did the rides. DH was so happy, just kept doing rides over and over again. Loved it! For us, it was worth paying the extra fee for the party tickets, since we had the park hopper tickets already for the day, because we were able to ride the rides we wanted without dealing with huge, long lines.

Wednesday wasn't too bad, but the crowds were starting to pick up. Spent most of the day at CA. Rode Screamin and Tower of Terror 2-3 times each. Tower had a 13 minute wait, Screamin on average was less than 30 minutes. We also got FP for both of those rides. we also did star tours again at disneyland 3 more times, one in line in the morning which was short and twice with a FP. The crowds weren't too bad, we were able to walk around, but compared to Monday evening and all day tuesday, there were more people there on wednesday. and of course, RSR was either down or too long of lines.

Thursday was the busiest. We didn't do as many rides, spent the day at both parks, but we took that day to do more pin trading and do shopping for new pins for us. We did rides, don't get me wrong, but we used that as a more laid back day, plus, it was running first thing in the morning and then later in the afternoon, so we just did a few rides here and there and then worried more about pin trading than anything else.

We will be planning to go again next year. Just not sure....should we do Halloween again and the MHP or try Christmas?? Decisions, decisions. :confused3

Thanks for reading my review. If anyone has any questions, just let me know. :wave2:

Enjoy your disneyland vacation!

I think it is cool that you brought your dog. Maybe Disney should do a special party night for pooches. I bet a lot of people would pay $$ to be able to bring there fur babies into DL for some photo ops and maybe a treat or two. :thumbsup2
