I want to thank everyone who takes the time to post on the boards. This place is wonderful

We arrived at Orlalndo airport around 6:15 p.m. and found our way over to magical express. There were no lines, checked in at the desk and waited about 5 minutes to get on the bus. Waited about 5 minutes more on the bus and we were at Colorado Springs by around 7:30. We had booked thru AAA a king nonsmoking room. There was only one king room available and it was a smoking room. The castmember offered us that or a standard water view room for half price for the night and then we would be moved in the morning. I just finished taking an antibiotic for a sinus infection that morning I told the castmember and the cast member said she would be right back. After talking with her manager she came back. Joe and I were still hemming and hawwing over what to do. I asked where we would be moved to in the morning. Off she went to her manager. The cast member came back and said they could put us in a Suite because our check in was taking so long. And we would not have to move again. Cool! They put us in Casitas 3. But first we had to get our groceries from the luggage room that gardengrocer delivered. The bellman then drove us and our groceries to our room -3117. The court yard was absolutely stunning. Had a fountain and benches and beautiful landscape. Our room had double beds in it, but the trade off of not having a king bed was well worth it. Two bathrooms and two dressing areas. The suite is actually connecting rooms the second room has a murphy bed, plus a couple of tables, a desk with chairs, and a couple of ratan chairs. It is quite nice. I dragged one of the tables over next to the sink and put all my personnal makeup lotions and such there. The room was very clean and we always had great service from mousekeeping. The key to both safes were missing, called maintenance. We originally were going to the Boardwalk (I never made it over there during our trip :( ) Decided to go to the peppermarket for a bite to eat. It was very good. We went back to our room and our luggage was there. I am so glad we decided to trust the system and use Magical Express to it's fullest function. I had considered getting our bags before getting on the bus. The keys to the safe were still not there, so I called again ...no one told us we needed to be in there. maintenance came back about 5 minutes later and took care of it. Now to answer the questions about the beds. They are NOT like the motel 6 mattress's. They are the thick pillow top type. I didnt have a ruler but the top mattress is like the 17 inches or so type. I slept well every night. There is a ceiling fan and the heater/ airconditioner worked great.

Casitas is very beautiful and we were very happy there. It was a calm relaxing atmosphere. The landscape was lush, and with flowers. We were in Casitas 3 and about a minute walk to the pepper market. also the walkway was covered. I never heard my neighbors. I did hear one night someone talking as they were walking by but even in other hotels that has corridors I have heard that. One night there was a reception of some sort set up in the courtyard and I did not hear them.

We tried using Bus stop 2 but found that was farther than Bus stop 1 Bus stop 1 was near the entrance and the last to be picked up. Never had a problem with the busses. The only night our bus was crowded was after Illuminations. Understandably because of the shear numbers of people leaving the park all at one time. I found the location of Coronado Springs is great. It is a short ride everywhere except Downtown Disney.

The weather was on the cool side this week. We only got over to the pool once. The margaritas there were great and the pool looked wonderful. I wasn't dressed for the pool and had intended to get over for the pool use but never got there. It is a hike over but not bad. Maybe 10 minutes

The bar at CS was busy after the convention people got out of their meetings and before dinner. We went there only once.

We ate at the pepper market 3 times and the Maya once. Service was very good all three times. Our meal was fantastic at the Maya. Pricey- yes. I think this restaurant is underrated. We had an appitizer and we split a plate that had filet mignon, ribs and the catch of the day on it. More than enough for the two of us.

We ventured over to the Poly and the Floridian. When we walked into the lobby of the Poly I found it to be very kaotic and noisy. We had planned on sitting down for a drink at the bar and found that to be impossible. I loved the smell and look of the Poly though. Both of us thought the Floridian felt stuffy. It was absolutely calm with a pianist playing in the lobby. I much preferred Coronado Springs. I did however talk with a lady one night who was staying at the Poly. She said it was very relaxing and quiet.

I want to say you cannot go wrong with choosing this resort. It is beautiful and relaxing. The convention thing did not bother us at all. It is well maintained and clean. The only critisim I would have is that it is too bad they dont have a jacuzzi near the quiet pools as well. After being at the parks it would have been nice to use it. I wanted to use the jacuzzi one night, my husband and I had walked around the resort. I was willing to go back to use it, he was not. There was absolultely no one there. I just did not feel comfortable being there alone. It has nothing to do with Coronado Springs as I would not have done that at the Poly either. It is a safety thing regardless of where you are.

I know this is long but I wanted to give you as much info as possible. I would stay here again in a heart beat. Dont let the word moderate scare you off. I understand you can walk a long ways to your room at a deluxe as well. I found this resort everything and more than I wanted. Be sure to look at Buzz's website and at allears.com. They both show the resort.

P.S. I will post pictures later with an update. I have alot to do with just getting back!

P.S. It is cold here...no it is FREEZING here. send me back!

Thanks I cant wait to see your pics. I would like to stay at CSR as its the only moderate we havent tried yet.:)

Thanks for the post! It's always good to se a positive experience about a resort you've just booked. We will be there early Oct for a short stay. This will be our first time in a Moderate and it sounds like we will have a wonderful time. :cool1:

Thanks! We did a short stay at CSR and I am torn between going back for a longer stay or trying something different.

5 minutes ago I had decided on POR, then I read your thread! Aaarrrrggghh.:lmao:

Yes, CSR is fantastic - just fantastic. I actually liked the convention thing. Caused pools, etc to be quieter, IMO.

The Pepper Market confused us greatly for a while, though. You need to tell them up front if you plan to sit down or something, I don't remember. Maybe someone wants to remind us? It had to do with how you ordered. You had to leave a tip if you sat down, I think. So it was like a food court with table service. Not a true food court....I'll have to figure that one out again

Anxious to see your pics, maybe it will help me make up my mind!

It sounds like you had a great trip! We just returned from our first stay at CSR last weekend and we absolutely loved the resort. We will definitely be returning in the very near future.

Great to hear good things as we're staying there for 2 weeks in August. :cool1:

thanks for the upbeat review. We are staying at CSR end of March. I am anxious to try it out.

My biggest reservation are the crowds during this time. I guess I will just have to deal with it

Be sure to get some breakfast foods for your room. We had been talking with a castmember at the pepper market and she said the line goes out the door sometimes in the summer....we were quite surprised.

Thanks for your review. It sounds like you had a great trip. I just booked the CSR for December for 4 nights. I can't wait to stay here.

Thanks for your review. I had wanted to stay at CSR so badly this August, but it is full during the week that I want to go. I guess there is a convention. Anyway, I do want to try this resort in the future.

Thank you so much for the great report on CSR.

We are staying there for a week in May. It is our first time not in a Deluxe, and I have been a little nervous!

How do you order at the Pepper Market? Any tips?

How do you order at the Pepper Market? Any tips?
The Pepper Market isn't your typical food court. Rather, there are several hot and cold food stations with individual chefs and servers. You can get breakfast, lunch, and dinner and dessert/bakery items at The Pepper Market. The following food stations can be found: Mexican station, Chinese station, Deli station (soup, salads, and sandwiches), grill station (burger, chicken, steaks), pizza station, pasta station, children's station, beverage Station, and a bakery & dessert station.

Upon entering the Pepper Market you will be given one meal card per person. Hang onto all of these cards, DON'T LOSE them. Once your host seats you, they will ask if you need anything to drink and tell you where the beverage station is. The hosts are there to seat people and make sure their table has cutlery (not plastic), cloth napkins, and get drinks if you desire. Another server will come around for refills and to clear your table.

What makes this food court/restaurant different is that you go around to the various stations and select food as desired. Once you make a choice the chef at each counter will stamp your card and serve give you your chosen food. Many of the items at the stations are cooked to order so they can take a bit longer to prepare. There is flexibility in combining items as well. This is a great place for someone who only wants a light meal and the rest of their family wants a heavy one. For example: you can grab a side of Spanish rice from the Mexican station and order a steak from the grill station. The combinations are nearly endless. I love the variety and being able to pick and choose at leisure. If I feel like I want another roll in the middle of my meal all I have to do is get up and head to the bakery station with my meal card. It can be a bit difficult with little ones because one has to sit at the table with the kids while the other gathers the food.

The best thing is you do not pay until you see the cashier after your meal. While you have the card you can get up and retrieve food as often as you want without having to pay first. This is great since other food courts require you to carry money to each cashier every time you want something else. This is a wonderful option for someone that truly wants a casual meal. Alcohol is also available!!

Once you have finished dining, collect your menu cards and take them to the cashier. The cashier calculates the total due. There is a ten percent gratuity automatically added to all orders. To me this is well worth the variety, service and flexible meal options. If you are only going in for take out, ask for a "TO GO" ticket so you will not be charged the the ten percent gratuity. And don't forget to tell the cooks you are there for take out so they package your food properly. You can then take the food back to your room or eat at one of the tables outdoors.

In the Pepper Market you also receive real cutlery and cloth napkins (Paper ones are available as well) I found the food at the Pepper Market to be of higher quality than your average food court. Portions tend to be larger as well. If you only want to get your mugs refilled ask the host of a refillable mug pass and go to the beverage station. Upon exiting hand the cashier the pass on the way out.

Some people balk at paying a 10% gratuity. Personally the service and options are well worth a ten percent tip. I like that I can talk to the person preparing my food. If I don't want onions on my sandwich I can tell the cook directly instead of having to relay it through a cashier and then hope the chef got the message. No other Disney food court has as much variety. For someone like myself, who gets tired of typical burgers and sandwiches this food court was a blessing. I also found the portions to be larger than that of a typical Disney food court. This is also the only food court where one doesn't have to clean up after themselves. You simply leave your dishes and tray on your table when you exit and a clerk will clear the table. I found this restaurant to be one of the more relaxing ones at Disney. It was a nice change of pace from the endless lines at Theme Park restaurants

Pepper Market. Huge portions, great choices and tasty food. Lunch/Dinner Menu

Great reviews, we loved it in 2003 and have booked to spend our first week there in October this year. The pepper market reviews are better than we remember it but with two children we never all made it to the table at the same time. By the time we adults had our main courses the children were ready for dessert.

The system isn't confusing at all, just order at each area as you would at any counter service restaurant and rather than paying for it have your card stamped then pay for everything on the way out!

Just a quick question, did you breakfast at the Maya grill? we loved the buffet breakfast so much we are returning for that and the pool.

Thanks for your posts and reviews.

We are staying there for the first time in April, it looks great!

Thank you so much for the great report on CSR.

We are staying there for a week in May. It is our first time not in a Deluxe, and I have been a little nervous!

I want to put you at ease. It was very nice. I actually compare it to the resort area we stayed at in Mexico last year. (but without the balcony) I think that is all you are going to miss! There are the court yards at CSR, so you can always go out and sit out there.

I am new to the board and booked at CSR yesterday for a trip in May with 5 year old and husband. I felt fortunate b/c when I originally looked for availability, CSR wasn't coming up as an option - checked another day and there was a room! I know there are all sorts of recommendations on rooms, but I hope that I just get lucky and get a nice clean room (requested water view) near one of the quiet pools.
I also booked the dining plan and since this is new to me, please bear with me...At Pepper Market how does the dining plan work-is it Counter Service? They aren't really combo meals per se so I can see myself getting food from here and there and being charged at the end for what isn't covered. Does the dining plan cover the 10% you are referencing. And I can't imagine those desserts shown in these pics as being an option for plan Counter Service dessert!
Thanks - this board has taught me so much - kind of addictive - appreciate Buzz and his posts, info, and website tremendously!
