We just back from Bruges this evening. We had a great time. This was a wonderful Christmas present from our best friends Lisa and Maurce (and their children).

We drove to Dover straight after the kids had finished school on Friday and stayed the night at the Premier Travel Inn opposite the ferry terminal. This was the view from our window

We ate at the hotel restaurant and had a great time.

We caught the 8.00 a.m ferry Dover to Dunkerque. The new Norfolk line ferries are great. The kids loved the free PS2 games

It didn't take long to drive to Bruges and it was so pretty. We had lunch at a traditional belgium cafe with a wonderful fire place

Maurcie had mussels which came in a big pot

We had a wonderful walk round the beautiful Bruges streets

We did the canal boat ride which was really enjoyable

We stayed at the Crowne Plazza which was right in the market square. The room was great

The kids went swimming in the pool.

The only down side was the food in the restaurant in the market square. The river eel was as awful as it looked!!!

Altogether the trip was great. Bruges was just a brilliant place to be. Just so pretty

We are just so lucky to have such great friends.

Sad the weekend went so quickly as it is back to work tomorrow.
