Back from BCV

[BCV23]

We arrived home Thursday night from what is becoming our traditional split stay. This time it was 4 nights at the Polynesian followed by 4 nights at BCV in a 2BR accessible room. Hanane checked me in, studio was ready by 1:30 and the connecting 1BR was ready by about 3 as I recall.

My husband is now a full fledged DVC convert. This was only his second longer stay. To our DD19, BCV still doesn't feel as much like home as the Polynesian but this was her first longer stay. More importantly, my DH was asking about what we pay in dues, possibiity of a CR DVC, etc.. He's hooked!

The Beach Club Marketplace is a great enhancement I think.

Glad to answer any questions. We won't be going again until October so I'll have to live vicariously through others' reports.

Were you weaning your family away from the Poly by staying there 1/2 the visit? Thanks for the report, glad to hear your DH is happy with DVC

No, not weaning them at all....I'd have to wean myself first and I just don't see that happening. We all love the Polynesian and always will I think. Our children have been going there since they were babies (oldest was actually 3 on first trip) and at every turn of the paths, I have memories. I'm actually getting sentimental writing this. So many memories there for us.

I just had hoped that my DH in particular would start to enjoy BCV as much as I do. Most of our trips so far had been with just our middle son and me. Our DD was at camp a couple of times and Italy with my DH another. Our oldest son would join us for a long weekend but that would be at the Polynesian because we don't spend weekend points at BCV. My husband was down for long weekends as well, etc.. So it just makes me happy that my husband now enjoys it too.

We had some time after checkout before our flight and I wanted him to see OKW. DS2 and I spent a couple nights there but my husband has not. We did do the tour not too long after DVC started but that was so many years ago, he really didn't remember. He couldn't get over the size of the 1BR. So I'm sure we'll stay there one of these times as well.

Of all the deluxes, DH and I have talked about wanting to stay at the Poly most of all. Makes sense that you will always love it with so many memories attached Thanks for sharing
