We made our first trip home 7/24 - 7/30 to BCV in a two bedroom. We also got a studio at BWV for the same time period for my aunt and two cousins. Well, we didn't arrive until around 4pm, so when we checked into BCV our room was ready. We got a dedicated two bedroom with a woods view. You could see the swan at the Swan and Dolphin straight ahead and to the left there was a clear view of the Eiffel tower. Really beautiful and quiet. We were at the crease of the Y or whatever letter it's supposed to be.
When I walked into the room the carpet was wet. I don't mean like damp, it was wet. I called down to the front desk and they said they'd bring a fan into the room, they ended up with two fans. The maintenance person came back to check periodically to see how it was drying, but I think after his shift they forgot about it and left the fans there until the next night. In fact I just called down to the front desk to tell them that I was putting it outside because I got tired of tripping over them. I didn't mind too much though, because I ended up burning some bacon and it helped blow the burnt smell out of the room. We found that the electrical outlet next to the bed in the master bdrm didn't work, so the lamp and alarm clock wasn't working either. We ended up moving the alarm clock to the other side of the room. The door lock to the toilet was broken. The hair dryer system was coming out of the wall. When you first come into the foyer of the room, the lightbulb was out and so was the one in the 2nd bedroom above the bed. The door to the bathroom in the second bathroom wouldn't close. We also had a slow drain which was ankle deep by the end of your shower. At least the shower curtain was new. Oh, the dishwasher bottom rack was broken, the wheels kept falling off so you couldn't really roll out the rack.
Other than those things, there was nothing wrong with the room. I called the front desk, but nothing was done. I wasn't going to let these things bother me. It was a vacation that I had been waiting for some time. My parents had never really vacationed, so it was their first vacation and our first real family vacation. I wasn't going to let those things ruin my day or stay. I just hope that those things are fixed and things are maintained a little better for my next stay.
I checked into studio room 3064 at BWV right after I checked into BCV. It was a King (?) bed with a pull out couch. It was a short walk from the elevator to the room. The view was of a tree, I think the pool was behind it, was a nice balcony though. I had wanted two beds though since it was my two cousins and an aunt driving in from La. I wanted them to have beds. Well, went to the front to check to see if I could possibly switch. Nick at the front desk told me that it would be an upgrade to two beds. He told me that I would have to use more points. Now, this is my first trip, but I didn't think that was the case. I had a regular preferred view, not standard. Then I told him that I would go ahead and pay or use more points, it was at the point that he told me there were no more rooms that he could move them to because they were over sold. Well, my mantra for this trip was I was going to have a good time and not be stressed at all. I just said thank you and walked away. Like my friend says, I'm too blessed to be stressed--especially on vacation.
Those were minor things in the scheme of things for me. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back next December. My dad said he had a great time even without golfing! I was just so relaxed I didn't grind my teeth in my sleep at all!!! It was just wonderful. We went swimming at SAB just about every day. The only thing I missed was the kitchen sink!!! We'll do it next time. For the span of about three days it rained every day at around 4pm. We got stuck at the Premium outlet one day. Luckily there was the overhang part when it downpoured. We were there during tax free week, so there were plenty of other people squeezed under those awnings. Wouldn't you know it was the one time that I didn't have the rain parkas in my back pack. I wanted to be cute that day so I carried my purse!! DD had hers on hand though. The walkie talkies came in handy every where we went. I loved them. We got the 4 disney ones when they went on clearance at Target.
We did 2 days at Universal and 1 at Epcot. We went out early and got back early. The Mummy ride was da bomb!!! I wish the ride was longer. We did EE at Epcot. What the heck... We got there early, like the guide books say. It was a 30 minute wait by the time we got to TT at 810am. The kept having technical difficulties so I guess our 30 minute wait was probably more to 45 minutes. We only got to ride it once then went to MS, for our fast pass. After that, we just wandered over to the Land, then to the countries.
