We returned on Friday from a great stay. We were first at the AKL and did the club level so we could do the Sunrise Safari. In the end, only my husband did that but he absolutely loved the experience. The club level was fun and a nice splurge which is our experience with the other resorts where we've tried it at WDW.

Our room at BCV was in good shape and we had a great time there as always. There were a couple of minor repairs needed but they were attended to quickly and in a time frame that worked for us. :sunny: CMs were all very friendly and we continue to love our DVC "home."

We did the DDP for our BCV stay and my husband who loves a bargain was a happy camper. We also used our DDE card for alcohol and other TS meals as we did more TS meals than are included. We certainly did not maximize our plan as 10 of 15 TS credits were used at lunch and 10 of 15 of the counter service meals were used for breakfast. Adding up just the TS meals we saved over $100. So counter service meals and those snacks from the greatly expanded offerings were "free." We were not members of the clean plate club but it was fun to order desserts and have a taste (or more). :sunny: Even though my husband left two days before my son and I, we had no problems using all our credits. The plan is very good value for us and my DH wants to use it next trip as well.

But my one complaint....can't we all shut the door by the pool elevator!!!1  I think 19 out of 20 times we walked by that door, it was wide open.
Besides a waste of energy which we all pay for, I think it is a health hazard. Who knows what crawls or flies in through that open door. There is also a trash container maybe 12 feet inside the door that I would think could attrack creatures. So please shut the door. :cheer2:

Glad you had a good trip and thanks for your take on DDP. I think we may do it on our February '07 trip with Dad & aunt/uncle. My 2yo DGD was such an unpleasant dining companion in November that for our trip in July we're actually going to utilize the kitchen for all but a couple character meals. :sad2:

Strange about that door being open all the time. I don't think I've ever seen that happen. :confused3

Hi Jenifer, we had not seen that door open constantly before either. Perhaps once in a while but not virtually everytime we walked by it. I would make a trip to the car and close it after exiting the elevator. By the time I returned from the car, it was stuck open again.

I talked to one woman who thought "they" wanted it that way. I can almost understand her thinking this as it seemed to be open all the time.

I saw another woman walk through it and she popped it to the open position although I think she was surprised by the way she glanced over her shoulder. But she walked on without closing it. This was after one of my car trips so that time it almost stayed close for those few minutes!

I think it may "catch" open too readily now but still.....

That is too bad about your last trip with your little GD. Watch, this time she'll be a perfect angel. :sunny: But still, that kitchen is a great advantage of DVC isn't it?

We were also at BCVs last week (after an unbelievable stay at a Vero Inn room #2411). We had room 540 at the Villas with everything in very good shape. Patio of this room lacks a little privacy as it is in the corner and faces a two bedroom unit.

We had only one negative comment and that was the door by the pool/elevator was constantly open. We shut it every time it was open!!! I did not think air-conditioning the outside was a good thing!

Well, at least there were two families closing that door! Had you ever noticed it being a real problem before? We had not.

How was your view of Illuminations from 540? And did you see or hear anything at Epcot on Thursday night? We had a message on our phone about testing of fireworks.

Our view of the Epcot fireworks was wonderful!! We also received that message on our phone and I happened to wake up around midnight and heard what sounded like fireworks. We thought maybe they were firing off "dud" fireworks...didn't last too long though.

We were there the last week of April and had villa 161 which was directly across the hall inside the DVC pool doorway by the elevator. I can count on one hand how many times we walked out of our room to go out through the pool courtyard, that the door was actually shut, and when it was shut, it really wasn't even shut (latched). Fortunately, being so close I didn't notice and critters or bugs. :offtopic: But did anyone see the alligator in the canal?

I was up packing from 10-12. I too heard a few dull thuds but by the time I got to the window each time I saw nothing except there were lights sparkling through the trees in different locations at different times. I'm not sure if they were the countries illuminated although I don't think so as I never noticed them shining during Illuminations...they do still light up then don't they?

Renee, I didn't see any alligators but then I never have so I've almost given up looking. I think I tried twice. Did you see any?

Glad you didn't notice any bugs, etc. despite your proximity to the open door.

We got a pic of that gator when we were there over Easter. He was a big one!

I sure hope I never get that room that is right by that door by the pool. When we were there over Easter, the door was propped open a few times.

I also noticed this door open almost EVERY time I came to it or by it. I closed it so many times that my DH started calling me the door police!

I wish I had remembered to call about that. If you open the door all the way, it will not close back up. I also witnessed some people come thru the door, notice the door did not close, then keep on going. I guess they assumed it was a handicapped door that would close a min after they left. (or should I say HOPE)

How do I let someone know after the fact now? I would imagine there must be someone I can email?
