Thanks to everyone on this great board for all the help and suggestions. We stayed at PP for 7 days and DLH for 7 days. We ate at Blue Bayou (2x), Cafe Orleans,Pizza Port, little red wagon-corn dogs,Mickey's surf's up breakfast,Goofy's Kitchen breakfast,Storytellers breakfast,Brennan's Sunday brunch,Carnation Cafe,Village Haus,DTD Marcelline's,DTD Hagen Das,Carhay Circle lunch,CoZy Cone,Taste Pilots & Pacific Wharf. We saw WOC 2x, DL fireworks 2x. Did Legoland,LaBrea Tarpits & Universal Hollywood. We also ate at Slaters 50/50. Any question??

What restaurant did you like best?

Blue Bayou was a big favorite for a combination of atmosphere and food, Mickey's Surf's Up was the best character breakfast - most unique breakfast buffet, I loved the huevous rancheros, chiliquelles , delicious flatbreads and they had an amazing avocado salad with large pieces of avocado (I almost made myself sick I ate so much of it:blush as well as all the standard breakfast buffet items. The cozy cone had these outrageous gourmet sodas. The pear and grape were outstanding and of course we had to get cones to drink them out of ;) There is a candy shop in Critter Country with Winnie the Pooh on it next to the Winnie the Pooh ride. That was a favorite the Tigger tails and candies YUM!!

14 days at Disney!! Lucky you, sounds like a great trip.:goodvibes

What was your favorite dessert?

We leave in 17 days and DH is getting obsessed about where to eat.

OK how about least favorite place to eat?

We just got back last week. My DH and DS loved the pear soda at the Cozy Cones. (I may have stolen a few sips.) And Blue Bayou was a favorite for us, too. How was Carthay Circle?

Fourteen days! What an amazing trip.

Really great. My DH had an angus burger that he said was the best he ever had and he is a really tough critic. My DS told us his house will have a room like the sitting room. He was impressed.

Actually the room service menus were not great. My oldest DS is 11 and we have a tradition of going night swimming alone together while the twins are sleeping. When we get get back to the room he loves to act like a big shot and order room service as a treat (usually chili) there was no chili or anything that he wanted .

We stayed for 14 days b/c we live inNY and wanted to soak up everything and not feel rushed because we might not get back for years.

My dh loved the beignets, bananas foster at Brennans, Tigger Tails and bacon milk shake at Slaters.

Its funny you plan and plan and never know what will be the kids favorites. My kids loved, loved, loved animation academy. They must have done every class and they loved putting there voices to the movie. We spent hours there. Qmy husband and I just laughed and teased them John Lassiter was looking to give them jobs.

My DH fell in love with Carsland. He was awed by the look and feel of it. He kept saying could you. Imagine in any other company in the world saying to a group of executives I want to recreate this movie including restaurants and. Them saying"great, lets do it!"

My sons returned recycables and saved the money for souvenirs and saved birthday money. They had about $100 each.

We got some great souvenirs- DH is really into solar power and I got him a Mickey baseball cap with a solar fan attached. It worked great! DS#1- a sketch of Oswald. DS#2- ridemaker DS#3-wanted a solar hat also. I got one of those little boxes that light up a scene from a Disney movie -mine is Cinderella. Of course we got T shirts, jackets etc

So glad you got to have an awesome trip. Thinking about your budget gives me an ulcer though. I can only handle 4 or 5 days at a time but we have been combining DL visits with seeing my brother and his family in San Diego. So excited because they are coming this time to do DL with us so we get a short trip and a visit with them.

What part of NY are you from? I'm from upstate but live in Houston now. Strategically placed between DLR and WDW :)

We live on Long Island. I know I Will be working hard to pay off the bills just in time for Christmas :rotfl2:

Wow, what a trip! Two whole weeks at Disneyland, sprinkled in with Universal and Los Angeles! That is so cool.:) I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves! I hope you can make it back soon!

Glad to hear you had a wonderful trip! If your light up box is an Olszewski, then I have to warn you to be careful. I started with one (Snow White with Dopey) and now I have 6. Those suckers are addictive!

Happy to see another family visiting the parks longer than three or four days. We always enjoy the parks five to seven days at a time. A lot of our friends and business associates think this is normal but, a lot of people think any visit longer than two days is abnormal. I don't tell those people we stay for ten or eleven days sometimes(not my fault some people do not know how to relax or enjoy themselves). If, everyone would take time to smile once in a while, the world might be a better place....:cool1:

I'd LOVE to stay 11 days!! That's unfortunately not in our budget :(. But if it were... I'd do it in a heartbeat!! I am happy to relax and enjoy myself in our shorter trips to DL. As it is, I'm getting the second half of our upcoming DL trip as my Christmas present!! I doubt people don't "understand" the longer trip, or even don't WANT to do it themselves, but they most likely can't justify the expense in the grand scheme of things. Be gentle to those of us less fortunate :).

How was Slaters? That's on our list and the website looks amazing! I love bacon, so I can see this being a highlight for me!!
How was Cafe Orleans? Was it worth it? Trying to narrow down our DL dining options btw that and French Market currently.

Thanks for sharing and entertaining our ?'s! I'm so happy you were able to really enjoy the 2 weeks in Cali. It's such a magical experience!! pixiedust:

How many days did you actually go into the parks? What kind of tickets did you buy? Curious since you can't buy longer than 5 days now...

Sounds like a wonderful trip, we spent 11 days there 2 years ago & it was so much fun :)

Good question from Katems... 11 days would be great!! obviously you made it to Universal, and other parts of LA, but did you do more than 5 days at the parks??? and if you don't mind me asking, how much "more" did it cost since all they have now is 5 day passes??? :confused3
