We stayed at the Royal Pacific from 6/9 - 6/17 and had a great time! We arrived very close to midnight and our check in went smoothly. We stayed in tower 3, 3rd floor- I would have liked a higher floor but my sil and her family were joining us and we wanted connecting rooms so 3rd floor was what worked.

We thought the room was nicely decorated and the beds quite luxurious. Not sure why, but my son and nephew, 13 and 14 years of age were very fascinated with the big roll pillows.:) The shampoo/soap was delicious- I looked forward to someone leaving the shower and the fragrance wafting into the room. The big fluffy white towels were endulgent also. (In my real life all my towels are currently mismatched and some left over from wedding presents 22 years ago:)) The tub area did seem a little dated and didn't have an exhaust fan.

We didn't hear noise from the other rooms, but if the hallway was busy that noise filtered in easily. Our hall was quiet, very quiet, for most of our stay- but towards the end became more crowded- maybe a towel under the door would have muffled things.

We bought the $100.00 passes off the internet special and went into the parks almost everyday. As expected it was HOT! Because we had all week we paced ourselves, drank lots of fluids and used lots of sunscreen. We bought one of the coke refill mugs ($6.99 for the mug and $0.69 for refill) and took advantage of the free water. I can't imagine what it would be like waiting in line- the passes made SUCH a difference in our enjoyment of the theme parks. The transportation via boat was great, and we rarely waited more than 5 minutes for a boat.

We took the shuttle over to Portofino one evening to check out their pools. Very nice, but we decided we enjoyed the theming of RPR more- a tropical theme fits in very well in Florida while the Italian theme felt very much like that- a theme. My son and nephew loved the waterslide, while my daughter and niece, 16 and 17 enjoyed the more sedate villa pool. Musica della notte started while we were waiting for the boat and it was very charming. I would make a visit just to hear that. We never had time to check out Hard Rock.

My favorite part of our vacation was hanging out at the pool at RPR. The attendants will set up your lounge chair- do this! :) They will help carry stuff, spread out your towels, open your umbrella and make a cool neck roll with a towel and position it perfectly on your lounge chair. I did bring snacks and soda with me and nobody said anything- I read other reports that said people were asked to take their items off the pool deck. We did order from the poll bar/restaurant a lot- at first I thought the prices were high on food, but after a day in the area I realized they were no higher than any other place and sometimes cheaper. I discovered if I ordered a diet coke they would bring refills, just like in the restaurant. Also, they let my teenagers order from the kids menu ( my dd could never eat a 1/2 pound cheeseburger from the regular menu) and the kids menu was decently priced- $5.95 for a cheeseburger and she could get fruit instead of fries. Adults can order from the kids menu with a $2.00 surcharge. 90% of the time our service was excellent- I found if I kept my tab open they stopped by at just the right times. My favorite part was the little freebies- or as I texted my husband- they keep bringing me presents  Throughout the day they have scheduled "activities" which include offering you a small kabob of chilled fruit or an italian ice or a chilled towel. It was a nice touch and made me feel pampered.

I left RPR having gotten just what I had wanted- a relaxing vacation with a mix of entertainment and down time in a beautiful and luxurious setting. Just based on getting the FOTL pass would be enough to recommend it, but I enjoyed the ameneties of the hotel too. If you're planing a trip here, I hope you enjoy it as much as my family did. :)

all vacations at RPH should be as wonderful as yours.

so good to hear about your experience and the lovely stay you had there.

i always enjoy my stay at RPH.

Everytime I stay at RP its as awesome as you describe...I love it there, thanks for posting.

Sounds like you had a great time. Just love the RPR and like you said
"a relaxing vacation with a mix of entertainment and down time in a beautiful and luxurious setting".
Another 3 days + till we are back there

Great report! We were there 6/15-6/21 & our experience was just like yours -very enjoyable & relaxing.

Out of all the places that we ate, I think the food at the pool bar was my favorite. I would recommend it to anyone staying at RPR or even for those pool hopping from HRH or PBH.

Thanks for the report Jesse! Glad to hear about your experiences.

Great report! We are staying at the RPR for the first time the 2nd week of July and would love to hear any more helpful hints!

Tip 1 ..... if you are planning on catching the boat over first thing in the morning, get to the dock early.
When we were there (6/15-6/21) the boats started running at 8:30, but there was only 1 boat running (they may have more running by July). Between 8:30 & 9:30 the line for the boat got pretty long & some people in line were not able to get on the 1st boat.

Tip 2 ..... the walk from RPR to IOA is easy & very pretty.
I timed it when me & my 2 DS's walked & it took us 8 minutes - we actually beat the rest of our group who opted for the boat ride

Tip 3 ..... if you want to catch the free shuttle to Sea World, Aquatica, or Wet n Wild, be sure to sign up ahead of time.
They only run 1 shuttle & it's on a first come, first serve basis

Oooh great tips Pink!!!

Say... how far in advance can you sign up for the shuttle to seaworld etc?

Thanks!

What a lovely time you had there, so glad to hear you really enjoyed it. I`m so looking forward to August.

I`m not one for spending time around the pool "ever", but I think I may have to this trip, it sounds divine.

Thanks for sharing :goodvibes

You can sign up the day you arrive at RPR. When we were there the shuttle filled up 2 days prior, so if you know your SW date, I would sign up as soon as possible.

I'm not either, but you really must at RPR ~ it was so wonderful. And if you don't like to just take in the sun on a lounge chair or sit on the side of the pool, you can join in a pick up game of pool volley ball. DH, DS, & I did that & it was so much fun. We also played many rounds of ping pong.

I totally agree! We just returned June 21-16 and loved the hotel and the pool! We saw all kinds of people with their own coolers at the pool. We didn't bring one, but would bring a couple drinks down from the room. I just posted a trip report on the trip report threads. We almost always walked to IOA from tower 1, but if we wanted to go to city walk or US, we took a water taxi because the water taxi lets you off in the middle of city walk. I thought it was all very confusing before I went, but it didn't take long to figure everything out. They have good signs and people are very nice to fill you in on where to go. The shuttle for Sea World they told me had to be booked the day before after 7am. I went and asked on Tuesday for the Thursday shuttle, and the man told me to come back after 7am on wednesday and they would be giving the thursday shuttle tickets. They are free, but you just have to reserve. They also take people from portofino and hard rock and it picks up at the royal pacific last. We didn't get to Sea World until 11am, and it opened at 9am, If I was going to do it again, I would have taken a $20 cab ride there at 9am to get an earlier start (and cooler).

Woo hoo! You're updates are getting me excited for our trip. :yay:

So glad you had a wonderful stay. :goodvibes
