Our trip began on Amtrak from Phila. We had 2 sleepers. The train was about 45 minutes late leaving Philly, but we were all excited so it did not matter. Kids were asleep before Washington DC, and had a relaxing sleep on the train. Awoke about 9am for breakfast. Food was good. We ate lunch and arrived into Orlando about 1 1/2 hours late, which is not too bad. We took Classic Carriage Limousine (highly reccommend) to the Radisson at Port Canaveral. We had a great room, very clean. Swam in the Waterfall pool and then grabbed some dinner before turning in. Kids loved the train and the pool. Sat with my wife at poolside and had a few cocktails before turning in. Went to McDonalds across from hotel and boarded the shuttle about 10:30. We arrived at the POrt and the kids started yelling "there's our ship".
As we have never cruised before, I did not appreciate how large the ship really was. They took our bags and we entered the Terminal and proceeded with check-in without any delay. We got in line to board the ship at 11:40 and they let us on at 12:15.
The ship was amazing and having your family name called was something special. Kids were still very excited and met characters along the way. Went to Parrots for Lunch which was very good. The waiters even put chairs out for our kids stuffed amimals. Kids ate some, but I stocked up on the shrimp. AFter lunch we went to our cabins (we booked cat 11 and got upgraded to 9) deck 6. They rooms were very nice and comfortable. We changed and went up to the pool, bought a few drinks and statred to enjoy our trip. (More Later)

I've been reading trip reports for two years and still learn something new from each one. This is the first of heard of CM's pulling out chairs for kids' stuffed animals :), they must have loved that. Looking forward to reading about the rest of your trip.

Thanks for your report. I never tire of hearing of other peoples holidays.:D

How did you get upgraded? Does it just happen when you arrive??

Looking forward to Day 2.....its not long til we board the Wonder.......Yippee :Pinkbounc

Great to hear about your cruise! Did you book through Disney Vacation Club or ???? How were you so lucky to get an upgrade? I'm going to book a category 9 for June on the Wonder.

I did not do anything special. I booked through 1-800-cruises. I booked 2 guaranteed cat 11 rooms. This means they dont tell you the room number until a few weeks before you board. it worked out great for us.
