OK--first a HUGE apology to all my DIS friends who I promised I would try and meet up with (esp. Kathryne!!!) and didnt get a chance too----however.... my trip for work last week went by so quickly I could hardly blink. First with the yucky weather in the North East last wednesday my sister and I didnt arrive at our Hotel until 2am (thats Thursday morning...) good thing my speech wasnt until 11am!!! so we unloaded, got checked in (and a huge thank you to the nice receptionist who upgraded us at the WDW Hilton to Concierage!) got lots of SLEEP and then headed to the conferece. Of course, the speakers were WAY behind schedule so I didnt go on until about Noon (this was seriously cutting into my Disney time!) By the time I stayed for lunch, networked and got back to the room to change--it was well after 1pm. Sis and I headed to DTD for some shopping, then to EPCOT for some rides and dinner. Had a relaxing meal in Japan and grabbed a spot for Illuminations--then straight back to the hotel for some sleep. Got up friday morning and headded to the GF for breakfast at 1900 Park Fair then off to the Magic Kingdom. Hit all the biggies, had some lunch, watched the afternoon parade and then back to the airport for the flight home (and rolled in at about 11pm on Friday). --did you note--not a single pin experience listed anywhere... well there is several reasons for that 1) I took my sister who was on a very limited budget and not into the pin thing so I didnt want to bore her and waste any of our precious time --since we had about 12 hours total in the parks 2) Jeff and I close on our new house next week (WOOHOO!) so MY budget was strictly limited and 3) we discovered recently that our family will be growing by 2 tiny feet this spring!!! (so again with the limited funds but also--I was EXHAUSTED most of the trip!) I did get to make my own pin in DTD which was cool, and I did manage to snag a Bosses Day pin which I love, but beyond that--my serious collecting days are OVER!!! Check back later for a fire sale on all my traders as I unload to make room (and $$) for things like cribs, strollers and carseats!

Sounds wonderful Renee! I always wished that I had a sister; now I know why!

And.....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bounce:

congratulations on the upcoming! :)

Sounds to me like you crammed a heck of alot into a SHORT time!!!!!
I hope you and sis enjoyed the little time you had.....and a HOUSE and a new BABY!!!!!! MAJOR CONGRATS!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on the new member of the family!!!! :D

thanks guys! My sister really had a great time (once we got there) It was the first time she had gone anywhere without her husband and kids since she was married (hmmm, my neice is 9 so how long is that???) and the first time she traveled alone EVER! we were supposed to fly the first leg of the trip alone and meet up in Philadelphia to travel to Orlando. Imagine my surprize when I landed in PHL to find her noticably absent from the departure gate and FIVE voice mail messages on my phone. Evidently they re-routed her through Pittsburgh becuase of the weather and she was freaking out! I managed to get a hold of her and reassure her that I would hunt her down in the Orlando airport and not to worry. She survived. When we were strolling around EPCOT it was the first time I had seen her that relaxed since I dragged her to Spring Break in Daytona Beach when we were in college. (oh yeah--and my speech went really well too! LOL!) . Jeff and I are rally excited about the house and the baby. we are actually BUILDING. so keep your fingers crossed that it gets fininshed BEFORE baby arrives!!! I already have the room picked out for my Disney stuff. and we were out shopping for baby stuff and I found the PERFECT classic pooh crib set last ngiht. this is going to be fun!

Congrats on the House and the Baby!!!

That's great news. I'm glad yopu had a good trip.

How was breakfast at 1900 park fare???

We are thinking of going there on our honeymoon.

I just got in to this pin thing but since everyone here is soooo nice, I hope that you have a great 9 months and have ahealthy, happy, Disney crazzed child.

we enjoyed breakfast at Park Fair. not as hectic as some of the others we have been too. Food was standard Diseny Breakfast Buffett (Fruit & Yogurt, cheese blintzes, mickey waffles, eggs and bacon, cereal and breads etc.) the characters were Mary Poppins, Alice and the Mad Hatter and Tigger and Pooh. It was nice to be able to park and take the monorail tobreakfast and then be able to head right to the MK.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, Renee.....

The baby will take up less room in your house than your pins.:D

But, no matter how hard you try, you will never find a baby bag that you will be willing to carry around all day at WDW.

And, your baby will accidentally leave behind more things, at every stop, than all the pin backs you've lost to date.

And, while you may prick your finger on a pin, babies cause boo-boos way bigger than a tiny drop of blood.

Of course, the good news is they eventually grow up to be teenagers. :smooth:

:jester:

ROBYN!!!!! And teenagers are better? hehehe
I want that book that says that!!!!!!
My son is almost 10 and right on the verge.......I am shaking in my boots!

I have a feeling Robyn's last line was typed with tongue firmly planted in cheek!!

Renee,
Congrats to both of you from Carol and I. Hope you won't totally drop out of the pin scene. We love seeing the two of you occasionally.

What a whirlwind trip to WDW for you and your sis! How Cool! I would so love to do that with my sister, its just her kids have only ever been to The World once and would kill her if she went without them. :)

Congrats on the baby!

And beware the adorable/cuddly/warm/good smelling/ little bundles of joy.....bury themselves in your heart forever.....jsut one coo and you'll be running around giving them everything they could ever possibly want. Have fun!

then they turn into teenagers......lol!!!and the fun begins. I have two 21 and 17 and then son 8, who is never (he swears) going to be a teenager and do the things his sisters do.;)

Renee,
Congrats again on the little one! It's so neat that it hasn't been all that long since our meal at Boma and discussing you and Jeff having one too. I'm so happy for you.
I hope all goes well with the home closing. Make sure you send me your new address ASAP so I can update before Christmas and such (and let me know where you end up registering--Babys R Us is awesome!)
Take care!
Sue Ellen
