Righto, been back since Tuesday, but what with work etc it has taken me a while to update on here:

Cons:
Very few to be honest - I suppose the outer of Issac hitting and dumping a significant amount of rain on Orlando!

Caribbean Beach - resort was great but I just think we were too spoilt with Royal Pacific Resort to appreciate the smaller beds!

The crayons in the tumble dryer wrecking our clothes!

I gave up smoking 5 weeks before we went, DH did not want to appear weak so also gave up a week before we left. After the first coupl of days, it became apparent that Florida was not the place to manage nicotine withdrawals if we were to have a happy holiday. After 3 rather tetchy days DH bought some cigarettes and things were much more calm in the Zippy family (DH has not smoked for 3days now so I hope the home environment will be better for him)

PROs

Royal Pacific Resort - simply amazing! Loved this hotel. Johanna their duty manager was fantastic with my messed up clothing and also the missing toy!. The Pacific Paradise cocktail - having won a free cocktail at poolside bingo I chose this drink (costing just under $20!with tip & tax) I went on to purchase several more!

Meeting Joh(wilmas bride) and Sharon (stephensmum) - great to meet fellow dissers and my son had a fantastic afternoon with Wilma Brides son in the pool! I also recall the two of them collecting a ridiculous amount of bouncy balls in the arcade (cannot recall actually how much money we gave them!)

DDP - as always FANTASTIC! CountervService - the new Japan restaurant and Wolfgang Puck. Whispering Canyon - amazing location and fab server -and food was good (not blow your mind - but good)

Rose & Crown - our first meal at Disney. Booked 4-5 weeks before hand on a Saturday night for 7.30pm - quite frankly it was perfect (aside from a scare by a lady blindfolding me with her hands whilst I was waiting to check in!!!! Lol you know who you are!) we were seated on the lower terrace and had a perfect view of illuminations - considering we had rain the next three nights it was great. We would definitely go back here!

California Grill - having had a perfect start at Rose & Crown we had a perfect end to our holiday at CG watching Wishes from the viewing balcony. Server was amazing and food great - gutted it will be close most of next year! (Wayne - if you do DDP again give it another chance)

Must also add - we loved the new interactive game in Magic Kingdom - managed to get 47 of 60 cards between us - we do have several doubles! Anyone interested in swaps! Was great as the attraction is not OTT promoted.

Also - Delta on time flights throughout - got to watch Brave on way home and have overcome a fear of flying indirect.

As a footnote - all I can add is 10 nights at OKW 1 bed is booked for next August (set to be coupled with 4-6 nights at universal royal pacific.... CAN'T WAIT!!!

Sounds like you had a lovely time.

As an ex smoker I can understand the smoking hiccups! My OH tried and failed to give up on our last trip lol, he has tried 3 times since and failed! Bless him.

But I've told him not to even bother on this trip.

Glad you had a good time... I type this while an advert to WDW is on the telly lol!

I'm so excited. Not too long to go for us though.

Sounds like a great holiday.....

I like the sound of the interactive game.

sounds like a great holiday..

as for next year - you are going to LOVE that 1 bedroom at OKW!!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful holiday (apart from the smoking hiccup ) Happy planning for your next trip! :thumbsup2

Sounds great. We are eating at Whispering Canyon and Rose and Crown, so good to hear positive reviews!:goodvibes

Welcome back Zoe. Meeting you guys and Sharon was a highlight of our holiday too. Loved the fact that we kept mrunning into you all over the place. I have to say, Sharon doens't seem to haver been on here lately - I wonder if we scared her off :guilty:

Sounds like a wonderful trip! :) Made even better by the fact you've booked your next trip already! Those WDW withdrawals can be nasty!

By the time I'd read your pros I'd forgotten what the cons were!! Glad you had a wonderful time :)

After reading recent good reports on CG I am regretting not booking it for Christmas Day (we have been before and always enjoyed it but went for O'Hanas this year). Fingers crossed :)
