THANKS ALL for your inputs. I went ahead and booked something from the "other" column today. 5 days at Beach Club !! We figured it is something different and new and we love the proximity to EPCOT and DHS. We also added two days at Universal Port Royal Resort to START the vacation.

THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS !!!

EXCELLENT choice!!!! The pool is super fun, don’t miss ice cream at Beaches & Cream. You’ll also be spoiled walking to Epcot IG and Hollywood Studios :)

Remember that a lot of the 'normal' activities will still be suspended. Beach Club is an excellent choice. Shortest walk to Epcot and Skyliner. Buses are very efficient. SAB pool is awesome in Sept. Plan on a pool day using the lazy river. Get a B&C reservation. Set your Disney expectations low and you won't be disappointed during this pandemic.

Poly for memories and for the brand new fresh updates. You can walk to the transportation center. You can walk to the GF, then to MK, and then to CR. Or ride the monorail. Lots of places to eat that are great at all three monorail resorts too. Happy Anniversary.

Was going to recommend split stay YC/BC and WL (since I saw you post something about the WL in another thread) until I read about Universal! BC sounds great but I would consider staying at a premier hotel to get EP and get the most of a short visit - probably could shorten Uni to one night with this option!

I voted Caribbean Beach because if you like cruising I think you'll love the vibe. Hopefully, Sebastians will be open which is a really nice dining option at the resort. The Skyliner to Epcot and Hollywood Studios is a game changer as well.

IF you decide Poly is your way to go, look into renting DVC points through one of the stores like Dave's or DVC. You can rent for far less than a cash reservation. Read the FAQs before booking so you have a clear understanding of the terms and conditions but it is a great way to go to save some dough.

There is a lot to do at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure and CityWalk. I hope you keep your plans w/ 2 days even with the Express Pass option at Royal Pacific Resort.

We chose Royal Pacific at Universal. A nice balance and the EPs added great value. Also chose Universal to do first because once we immerse in the world of the mouse, nothing can beat it. BC is going to be a fun NEW resort for us.

It sounds like DH and I are just a few years behind you guys in life and WDW travel. So much to love at the Beach Club! Will you be partaking of the Food and Wine festival at Epcot? Be sure to also pick up a resort schedule - I read that they do still have movies on the lawn/beach because it's outside and can be distanced. If you go to the resorts area of these boards there is a thread all about the Yacht and Beach Clubs with all the details.
I'm also so excited for you to visit Harry Potter worlds at USO/IOA - I recommend their edition of park hopper so you can ride the Hogwarts Express between the two.

I love the BC - love the back entrance to Epcot and walking to HS. Hopefully the monorail will be up and running so you can access other areas more easily. Never really cared for the bus service from BC but the new Skyliner is a fun ride by itself.

All the times we've been to WDW, we have never been there for the food and wine festival. I'm not a big wine drinker (I'd prefer the Bourbon and Cigar festival) but mama is. The food options seem awesome. I watched a video last night about all the little food kiosks and "eating your way around the world".

The tip about the resort schedule and outdoor movies and such is a great one. Any way to get those on line before we travel ?

Mama is a big Harry Potter fan. We went there for a 1/2 day a long time ago, shortly after it just opened. We were on a cruise and it stopped at Port Canaveral. We rented a car and ran over. Having lived in Orlando in the 90s, I knew all the back ways around and got there quickly. Its so much bigger now, and should be fun. We are staying at the Royal Pacific and therefore have the Unlimited Express Pass and have park hopper passes. Looking forward to a couple "amusement park" days before we immerse into the full Disney experience.

September can't get here fast enough.

I'm going to throw Pop Century out for consideration. I really liked their refurbed rooms. I like the option for a cruise with the savings from staying at a value!. :)

I agree ^^...save even more from AoA and take that cruise too!! Win win *O*

I voted other to say I vote for Yacht Club. My DH 63 and I 58 Have stayed at lots of the different resorts and have a Pop trip planned for May and a Saratoga trip planned for November. Last year we stayed at Wilderness Lodge, Bay Lake Tower and Poly, but yacht club is still our favorite resort and our teen daughter's as well. Why? Well, we like the peaceful, elegant feel of the lobby, the boat right out back to Epcot and HS, the food and service at Ale and Compass are so good that we eat there almost every trip, the rooms are large and comfortable, Storm along Bay pool is delightful especially the very deep lazy river, the market is a good stop for tasty quick food, and everything is conveniently under one roof. We don't do so great with lots of walking, so try to minimize that when we can, I use a rollator. We have stayed at Caribbean Beach and liked it, but it was more walking. We do like variety, but highly recommend Yacht club. Happy planning!

Zdad59 - sometimes the resort thread will have someone who posted a photo of the resort entertainment schedule. It used to change monthly or weekly, so maybe check or ask on the Y&BC thread a couple weeks before your trip.

You have made a good choice but Swan is pretty, nicer rooms than Wilderness, balcony, right next door, has more food options, better service and much much cheaper. We tried it in November and won't waste money for Disney resort again when Swan is on property with all amenities and so much cheaper.
