Back 2 Back Magical Adventures on DCL-Completed

So this week we had early dinner which I decided I did not like. We decided we would try both, the Eastern week you have to get back on the ship earlier so we chose to have one early and one late dinner week. With early dinner, you eat first and have your show later.

So we ran and got changed, I would have like to have spent more time out on the deck before the sun went down, but didn't have the chance to do so. We headed to Lumiere's for dinner our first night. We were hoping to have a big group of table mates again because we really enjoyed the diverse group we had the first week. We get to a table for 4 people and there are 4 place settings. We arrive first. The a man and woman come and are seated at a table. I cannot recall their names, you'll find out more about that later. They are really nice and we enjoy their company.

We then headed to Rockin' bar D and watched the show. Played Magic Quest. If you have a chance to play Magic Quest do it, do it, do it. It is only for adults. It is like a scavenger hunt but of only things in the room. They ask for all types of wacky things it is hilarious and a great way to meet people.:thumbsup2

We then watched Match Your Mate. They picked a recently married couple, someone for about 20 years and a couple married longer. Well Ann and Howard were selected and they won.:yay: :yay:

At some point we had room service

Hi Becky! I am really loving your trip report SOOOO MUCH!!! The photos are fantastic! Every night I am in a hyperbaric chamber with my son for 2 hours, and i am a VERY captive audience, to say the least!!:goodvibes Anyway, your trip report makes me forget I'm inside a vinyl tube; I almost feel like I'm on the Magic instead!!! But that will have to wait until November, when we go on our Western. Can't wait to read more, and thanks so much for keeping me entertained!!

Thank you for reading. I am glad you are enjoying my trip report. I hope you can stop spending time in the Hyperbaric chamber soon. Hope that all is well with you and your family and that everyone is better soon.:grouphug: :wizard: :wizard:

Thanks for the good wishes, but don't worry, no one is sick- just autistic- my 13 yr old DS. This is hopefully going to help him, and if it does, we'll be spending even more time in here in the future. Sooo, if you don't mind, please hope we CAN'T stop spending time in the hyperbaric chamber soon- as crazy as that might sound!!

Anyway, please write soon!!! I want to go to the Virgin Islands already!!:beach:

So today was basically our second sea day in a row, although it was technically the first of our Eastern Cruise. We got up and got some sort of breakfast.

Then we headed to the art of the appetizer in Studio Sea. I know we saw Kamgem aka Kami and some of her family there. I might have seen lg3 aka Lisa, I can't remember who I saw where which week. Maybe I should have wrote it down, but that is too much like work.

More art in Studio Sea
DSC00960.jpg

DSC00961.jpg

They showed us how to make the Crab Martinique. Which is really yummy and we had a wine sample as well. I think it was something they picked up in remembrance of recently being in the Mediterranean.

DSC00962.jpg

From here I headed to the Buena Vista Theatre. It was part of there art of entertaining series. Jeanne Lehman was there and talked about her acting career and performing on Broadway in a variety of shows but for the Disney lovers as Mrs. Potts in Disney's Beauty and The Beast. She also sang some selections from the show. She lived all over in some really neat places. She was actually celebrating a wedding anniversary to her husband Larry French and it was their first true vacation in many, many years.

DSC00968.jpg

I unfortunately missed the second of her series, but I ran into her throughout the week on various parts of the ship.

Since the Eastern has 3 Sea days they offer more program stuff and this was one of those things they offered.

Then I think I grabbed lunch.

DSC00976.jpg

Went to the pool. Then went to see Pirates Dead's Man's chest.

Got ready for that early dinner, which I was starting to dislike already. I had things I wanted to do but instead I went to my room and changed for dinner.

Tonight dinner was in Animator's Palette. We waited and waited a bit more for our table mates and eventually decided they weren't coming.

So we headed to the Golden Mickey's show. We may have done something in between but I don't recall.

DSC01123.jpg

DSC01133.jpg

Then I headed up to deck 10 and got some hot chocolate. Walked around eventually headed to my room and went to bed.

So today I got up and then headed to our DIS meet. The DIS meet was held in Cove Cafe. There was a bunch of us there and one cast member was working, eventually another one or two got there. I felt bad because it was not there fault that so many of us were there at once. Cove Cafe is like a Coffee Bar it is only for guests 18 and up. They will have desserts and snack foods in the display case, these are free, the drinks you must pay for. I got a frozen Mochaccino, it was very good. I forgot to take a picture but a few others then got the same thing.:thumbsup2

We had a good time of conversation and fun. Oh, yeah Stephen decided to sleep in. Some pictures from the meet.

I then went to the Dessert making session and Stephen was there, it was just starting as I arrived.

I went to the pool and did some relaxing and then showered, before I knew it it was time for dinner at Parrot Cay

Our table mates were not there again.  Our servers asked us if we knew anything we did not. Second night of sitting by ourselves.

Now when we initially booked we set up for both of us to celebrate our Birthday's Stephen's was set up for the first week but never happened. My Birthday is in June but the were in the Mediterranean and decided not to go to the Med, so I celebrated on this cruise. But they brought me out a cake and sang to me
DSC01177.jpg

DSC01178.jpg

The table next to us also got a cake as they were celebrating an anniversary.

Well we hadn't remembered and had eaten too much food already so they gave us a lid and the cake ended up in the room.

Hi Becky! I'm glad you're writing again, I Missed reading your pages and viewing all the pics! Hope you're enjoying the holidays!:santa:

After Dinner we headed to the Rockin' D Bar and watched John Charles perform his family show it was very good.

DSC01182.jpg

After the show I walked around a bit and eventually ended up in the Walt Disney Theater for Twice Charmed.

Afterwards I headed back to the room and we had a towel critter. I'm not quite sure what it is. Maybe a fish, I'm not sure
DSC01349.jpg

Then it was back to Rockin' D Bar for High Frequency and more John Charles and then Spring Break Bash.
DSC01350.jpg

DSC01353.jpg

Spring break bash was fun, they had JELLO shots and some good music.

Balloons at Party
DSC01354.jpg

Then I walked around outside and maybe watched whatever was on the Ariel Vision screen.
DSC01355.jpg

Eventually I headed to the room and to bed.

So today I woke up and we were already docked in St. Maarten or St. Martin, depending if you are on the French or Dutch side of the island.

I got up grabbed some breakfast and then headed to meet our group for our excursion. We were doing the America's Cup 12 metre regatta.

I found St. Martin/Maarten to be gorgeous. The water is very blue and the mountains very green. Although I did not get to explore nearly enough of it.
DSC01357.jpg

DSC01358.jpg

We had a short walk and then we loaded into a "tender boat" which took us out to either of the yachts we would be sailing. Before we loaded, we were divided into two teams, which would go on two different yachts. They told us some history about America's Cup.
DSC01360.jpg

DSC01363.jpg

There were several DISer's on this excursion Ann, Howard, Lisa, Chris, and 2 people who sat at the table next to us. I know I am missing one or two groups from the DIS, I am sorry for not recalling.

While on the tender they assigned positions on the yacht

DSC01371.jpg

DSC01374.jpg

DSC01375.jpg

DSC01377.jpg

We dropped off the other team and they loaded into Stars and Stripes
DSC01381.jpg

DSC01383.jpg

DSC01385.jpg

Loaded up on the True North IV
DSC00083.jpg

DSC00084.jpg

Our Yacht had a Coors lite sail, but was originally from Canada:confused3
DSC00089.jpg

DSC00091.jpg

Once loaded up, we were trained on what each of us were going to do. If you didn't want an active position you could just be a bartender or timer. They also offered all of us life preservers, they were not required.

DSC00098.jpg

So when we got on the yacht, there was no wind at all. These ships, are only powered by wind, so we were towed by Boomer, to get us further out.
DSC00102.jpg

DSC00106.jpg

Eventually the wind picked up some and we started the race
DSC00122.jpg

Well in addition to the wind, we had lots of clouds, and pouring rain
DSC00096.jpg

We finally got moving but it was pouring cats and dogs. The rain was very cold and since we were moving, it was chilly.

True North IV ended up winning. We were behind until the end when we caught up and came next to Stars and Stripes and we took their wind and won.

Me after getting soaked
DSC01391.jpg

At the end of the excursion, after being soaking wet
DSC01384.jpg

Our yacht, reconnected with the tender boat, we had to move to the front of the boat as another group was getting on. After they were on then we could get off.
DSC01393.jpg

I felt so bad for the crew, as they had to stay out for another excursion and I was cold. They dropped us off at their store location, they had photos and some merchandise.
DSC01394.jpg

DSC01398.jpg

DSC01401.jpg

Then we loaded up the the tender again and they took us back to the dock.

DSC01405.jpg

Some lingering storm clouds. This was not the end of the day's storms
DSC01408.jpg

We got off and headed back to the Magic, we were cold and wet
DSC01414.jpg

See how tiny the Magic looks
DSC01416.jpg

DSC01423.jpg

So we got back on the ship and headed to our room. On deck 7 before we got to our room we saw some cast members working on something in the hallway. We thought nothing of it because they were always working somewhere on the ship.

So I get in the room and hop in the shower. Turn the water on and it comes out full force and is then a trickle. I turn it off wait a few minutes and then it is still a trickle, but it is now coming out light brown.:scared1: :scared1:

So I wait awhile longer and turn it on again and it is brown and there is mud coming out. The toilet wouldn't flush and the water out of the sink was brown.

I get dressed again and go back into the main part of the room. I go to make a phone call to complain about the water and notice there is a message on our phone. So I check the message and they inform us that they are working on the water all over the ship, because they are having trouble with the desalinization system on the ship. They say it should be working later.

It makes sense that we saw people working in the hallway. All I wanted to do was get a hot shower because I was freezing from being soaking wet and I couldn't get one.

I changed into clothing and we headed to lunch. I decided I would try to get a shower later. I never found out if the problem was ship wide or not. I was hungry and had warmed up by this point.

We headed to lunch at Lumiere's.

Then we went to Trivia at Diversions. We did pretty good but another team beat us.
DSC01542.jpg

DSC01541.jpg

DSC01548.jpg

After the trivia I went up to deck 7 aft and relaxed on the deck. My peace and quiet was eventually interrupted by the kids club because they had an activity scheduled on the deck.

I knew I wanted to deliver my Fish extender gifts today because they could be used for pirate night. So I walked around and delivered them to the rooms of the participating DISers. While I delivered the glow sticks and pencils, I took pictures of the other decorated doors. Most of these were DISer doors so the designs look familar

After I decorated the doors I got my long awaited shower and then got ready for Pirate night. I assumed from the previous week that Jack Sparrow would be out in front of the WD theater while the movie was playing even though he was not on the schedule.

So we stopped there before dinner.
DSC01560.jpg

We were then heading to dinner, but we saw there was no line for Cap'n Hook so we stopped there as well.
DSC01561.jpg

I headed out to check on the weather because we were concerned the pirate party would not happen and it was storming again.
DSC01562.jpg

DSC01564.jpg

But not really over here
DSC01575.jpg

DSC01573.jpg

One of the few nights, I saw the sunset because it was much earlier this week because we were so far east, it was still dark by 6pm.
DSC01572.jpg

So we headed to the Golden Mickey's show. We may have done something in between but I don't recall.

DSC01007.jpg

I was on that cruise and my DD is the one by the guy in the show- not the one by Snow White. My nephew and her got picked to be in the show. That was so funny to be reading your trip report and see a picture of her.
BTW- your trip report is one of the best I have ever read, I love the pictures included.

We then headed to dinner. Our table mates, still did not show up. Our head server told us they switched to late seating. So we ended up sitting all by ourselves this week anyways. I had been discussing all week asking for late seating but never asked to change to it. We remained at the table by ourselves the rest of the week. We talked with both tables on either side of us because we were at the table by ourselves.

Two of the people from one of the nearby tables was actually on our 12 metre regatta excursion. It was not that bad that we were by ourselves, although I would have preferred to have other people with us.

So after dinner, we typically would go to the show. Well tonight was Underdog in the WD theater, well the part of it I saw the week before was enough for me so I didn't go and see it. Instead I just sat around and relaxed, I might have watched something on the Ariel view TV.

Eventually we headed up to deck 10 for the Pirate Party. I told myself before the cruise I was going to do one party on deck 9 and another on 10, well both weeks for the Pirate party I was on Deck 10 and not down on the floor where the party was. I still had a great time.

We actually arrived right as it was getting started and there were very few people there. They start by teaching the dances and then the characters show up and then more dances and the Pirate night buffet.

The buffet before it is totally set up.

This week we had about 3-4 ships that were in the vicinity watching and waiting for the fireworks and show. You can see one in the distance but it is blurry.
DSC01689.jpg

So before I knew Mickey arrived and the fireworks started and ended.
DSC01683.jpg

DSC01688.jpg

DSC01687.jpg

DSC01685.jpg

Well they ended very quickly because they were going off and next thing we know we hear a thud behind us and the fireworks stop going off. Apparently that thud was a shell hitting the Magic somewhere. All the safety and procedures that Eddie the stage manager had discussed with us the week before went into effect. It was a very windy night and we had been moving around a lot to keep us in the right direction to toss the fireworks, but the wind shifted directions.

Cast members popped out of nowhere and they blocked off the rear of the ship. Other cast members were up on the roof, searching with flashlights. I am sure that they were radioing to the other ships and Coast Guard letting them know what was going on. We waited to see what would happen.

They were hosing the whole back of the ship off and searching with flashlights, I do not know if they ever found anything. We waited around to see if they would launch them because we need they had to dispose of them but they did not that night.

We headed down to the buffet and grabbed a bit of food.
DSC01695.jpg

Eventually we headed to the room and be. Tomorrow would be here way to soon as we had to get up early to go through customs.
