Back 2 Back Magical Adventures on DCL-Completed

The backstage tour looks like fun. I will have to make a note of it... think they would miss the cinderella dress LOL

The food looks amazing too!

All of the queen beds are actually twin beds that have been hooked together. That way they can easily separate them for guests needing 2 separate beds. Just have your Mom call DCL (or do it for her) and have them note it on the reservation. That way they should be in the proper configuration when they board.

Great to know! Thanks!! :thumbsup2

I really didn't eat it. I was less then thrilled by the cakes and desserts at the buffet. To me they all tasted the same, with different fillings. I took a few bites and was totally done. I am not a cake person, I would have been happier with containers of the fillings.

Becky- I had this same experience with the Pirate Night buffet. I usually don't eat these kind of desserts unless they really taste good! Why waste the calories on something so-so!

Becky,
Came back to get caught up.........I so wanted to do the stage tour on our cruise but they didn't have it......oh well another reason to cruise again right?
You are going to finish aren't you???????????
Please............:goodvibes:

Was it because of your redirected cruise that they did not offer the behind the scenes tour?? In any case, there's always next time.

I do want to finish, life has been busy. Hopefully I will get to work on it this weekend. I want to finish before the new year and have a whole week plus basically 2 days to go.

Sorry for the delay in my trip report. I have been working nights and some on the weekend and was in NYC last weekend, had a Birthday party and lots of other things. So enough excuses back to the trip report.

So after the Behind the Scenes tour we headed through the Main atrium and they had these nice banners hanging in the atrium

I went for a walk around deck ten and got a drink on deck nine then I headed to the Marionette show in the Buena Vista theatre
DSC00035.jpg

It was odd and interesting at the same time. It is definitely a lost art form but some of the things he did were bizarre like a scarecrow that kept falling apart
DSC00040.jpg

DSC00043.jpg

DSC00044.jpg

We went to Parrot Cay for lunch but we had missed Mickey's Island Jam breakfast and we would never end up making it to one

Those wood covers slide up to cover the parrots on the pillars
DSC00049.jpg

Parrot Cay for lunch is a buffet and today they had seafood

DSC00051.jpg

I think I relaxed a bit in the Promenade lounge and watched the ocean
DSC00055.jpg

I checked out the artwork auctions by sea, I would love to have some of this artwork but it is pricey, it is not all Disney
DSC00060.jpg

DSC00062.jpg

We then went to Napkin Folding in Studio Sea, since I have done catering in the past I know how to do some but wanted to learn more

I have pictures of all the folds but don't want to bore you with them. I also have the instructions somewhere as well

The cast members are always working and never stopping to keep things in tip top shape

DSC00077.jpg

I went outside on deck 4 for a short bit and then headed inside for the towel folding workshop.

After the towel folding I headed up to deck 7 aft to relax
DSC00085.jpg

It was nice and empty except for me
DSC00086.jpg

We then headed to the third floor for our galley tour. You need to go to Guest services early in the week and ask for tickets for the Galley tour, they are free but a limited amount. The tour starts in Lumiere's or Triton's depending on the ship. In this instance this it is Lumiere's, it is gorgeous. It is a darker more elegant look IMO then Triton's. Lumiere's is named for the Candlestick in Beauty and the Beast
DSC00087.jpg

DSC00088.jpg

The Galley's are nice, big spacious and clean. Although I am sure they are not so spacious once the hundreds of staff are running in and out

After the tour we headed to Beat Street and killed some time
DSC00101.jpg

Before we knew it it was time for the nightly show. Tonight was Disney Dreams and it was neat to see things now that we had the Behind the Scenes tour
DSC00103.jpg

So we watched the Disney Dreams show. It is about AnnMarie and Peter Pan Since the last time I saw it they had some new enhancements which were great

At some point we changed for dinner but don't recall when I did so. Tonight dinner was in Animator's Palette tonight the dinning room is lit up on arrival

Onion Soup, this was quite tasty
DSC00311.jpg

Oysters
DSC00310.jpg

Lobster my brother had 3, they take them out of the shell for you. Well he ordered two they brought him one and were going to bring him another later, well they had to cook more so they brought him two the second time to compensate for his wait.

DSC00314.jpg

I think this was Peanut Butter Pie
DSC00315.jpg

Chocolate Molten Cake
DSC00316.jpg

We went over to Rockin' Bar D and they were finishing up some activity, it was pretty funny
DSC00317.jpg

Then we watched Rich Purpura do his adult show it was hilarious
DSC00319.jpg

I got picked to select a bag for him to smash but the bottle was not under the bag I selected
DSC00323.jpg

He also did a funny thing with animal crackers, Harry Potter glasses and making the crackers disappear

People were starting to head out before the end of the show and they were given a hard time. Where where the heading? The Midnight dessert buffet.

Now you would have thought they starved us all week because of the long lines. Only I went inside Stephen did something else.

They had 2 long tables lined up in Lumiere's loaded with desserts and a white and dark chocolate fountain. I didn't line up and wait I came later so people had already made selections

DSC00328.jpg

DSC00330.jpg

There was fruit but I don't know if it was touched
DSC00331.jpg

There was an ice sculpture
DSC00332.jpg

Wine is for sale to go with your desserts
DSC00333.jpg

Lots of people waiting for the fountains
[
DSC00335.jpg

Once again I was not super thrilled with these desserts, at dinner they were better, they had some mousses that I ate that were really good but I am not a cake fan for the most part unless it is really good. I would have loved a pick cup full of chocolate from the fountain and fruit to dip instead of them dipping the pieces for you one at a time and putting them on a plate.

I headed back to the room with my plate of goodies. They did have the tables set but I took my food to my room where I found I think a turtle towel animal
DSC00337.jpg

We still did not know 100% if we were having parasailing on Friday at Castaway Cay we did not have tickets or any information. So I called guest services and then went down and picked up our tickets for parasailing.

I think I watched a movie on TV maybe Shrek 3 and then headed to bed.

Do we or do we not go parasailing? That is the question.

Thank you for reading and have a Happy Thanksgiving

Becky,
Yeah :yay: I am glad you are finishing.
I am not sure why we didn't have the backstage tour.....we had Ducky Williams & most of the behind the scenes stuff had to do with him. Maybe that was why? Just another reason for me to go back.
Great updates & beautiful picture.
We happened upon the dessert buffet one night after being in Rockin Bar D & didn't even go in.
Happy Thanksgiving.

i love chocolate fountains, probably the only thing i would have done at the buffet, but the pictures make it all look interesting. I find that the midnight"gala" desert buffets are more for show than taste.

So today is the last full day on the Disney Magic for this cruise. Just not my last day because I have another week on the Magic left to go. :cloud9: :thumbsup2

So today was our parasailing day. I have wanted to go parasailing on my WOnder cruise they actually totally canceled it on my first cruise. Well it was
cancelled and then reinstated and then we were told again we weren't going and then told it was on again. They called us on the ship saying we were going but we never received tickets until we called and requested them but we were still uncertain about whether or not we were going to be able to go because they were calling for not so great weather. Well more about whether or not I go parasailing later.

First I got up that morning and headed to Topsiders for breakfast. Castaway Cay Yep, that's right no change of clothing or getting dressed because DISer's were having a PJ breakfast at Topsiders. When I got up to Deck I was happy to see we were already docked at one of my favorite places.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I think the meet was at 7am. I know it was early so we could all get out and enjoy Castaway Cay

Oh yeah Stitch and Mickey were going to and they were dressed in their PJ's as well. I literally look half asleep as well. I must have been because I don't have any pictures of the actual meet.

I am hoping for a much better birds eye view in the near future.

It was a good time and there were about 15 of us there in our PJ's. After they meet we headed back up to the room to slather on sunscreen, change into our clothing for parasailing and to gather our gear for the day at Castaway Cay. Our gear included snorkels and masks, cameras, sunscreen, etc we did not bring the fins along this trip, we left our booties to go with our fins on the ship as well. With the hopes we wouldn't need them.

The last time I was on Castaway Cay we dragged two full sets of masks, fins, booties, snorkels, diving skins and other stuff out to Serenity Bay. That stuff gets heavy and we decided we didn't need the fins. The would be nice but are heavy to carry long distances.

We eventually head off the ship.

Our Parasailing tickets tell us to meet at Marge's Barges at 10am. We get there early check in and wait until they call us.

We are broken into two groups, each of the groups goes on a different boat. Before we can get on the boat we must take off our shoes and leave them on the dock. In the back of my mind I keep thinking that someone is going to take our shoes and run them up a flagpole or something like you see on a movie.

We sit down and they go over some basic safety info as we head away from the dock.

Please bear with me as I coordinate pictures from Land and sea. I took my old camera into the air with me, when I went parasailing. Yes, we both got to go. Although I think I kept wishing for such good weather that it was not very windy, so we could not go up as high, as if it would have been slightly windy. You want some wind but not tons, to have the best flight.

DSC00077.jpg

Before I knew it, it was time for suit up to go, 4 people went before me. Two of them were kids who flew together.

You have to sit down on the boat deck and then they speed up and away you go

Up, up and away you go

My view from the air, it was so peaceful and calm up there and not jerky at all. We were both probably up about 600 feet, but they can go up to 1,000 feet depending on the weather conditions

Pssst...I think this is actually the Lingonberry Cheese Pudding. I've seen other pictures of it and can't wait to try it next week. The Raspberry Domes are white on the outside (white chocolate) and raspberry on the inside. I remember them VERY fondly from our last cruise.

Your report is fantastic! I can't wait to read more!

oh how fun to do pairasailing! I might have to talk dh and the boys into that now LOL cant wiat to hear more!

Glad to hear it was good as I"m really looking forward to trying it. FYI - IKEA stores sell something very similar that is quite yummy! If you have one near you it might give you that DCL fix between cruisers.

Becky,
Wow looks like you had a beautiful day on Castaway Cay.......I am still dreaming of that myself.
I have always wanted to try parasailing...maybe next cruise.
It's funny I was reading another trip report & saw you & your brother in one of the pictures. I was like I know them. :lmao:
