When wearing my 4 month old son around Disneyland, when I go on rides like Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Monster's Inc, etc. Do I need to take the baby out of the carrier, or can he stay in it for the duration of the ride?

I too want to know the answer to this question! I heard some rides you can babywear and others you can't. But I don't remember which rides.... Is there an age limit to this?

wearing babies sounds painful I don't recommend it.
I would use a stroller instead.

The Astro obiter you can't wear them (and felt rather unsafe) that was the only one I can think of where you can't but there was a couple where they wanted the baby front facing (a pain if they are already asleep).

We wore DD6 months the whole 10 days and other than being damn hot it worked really well.

It is not painful at all! It is actually very comfortable if you have a good carrier or wrap. And is much easier on momma's body to have them in a carrier while in line than holding them (arms get tired holding a 16# baby for a 40 minute line!) plus they can fall asleep and even nurse if necessary. And with my hands free I can play with my 3 year old, check my phone, take pictures, etc. Women have been baby wearing for thousands of years, it is awesome!

Thanks for your experience! We are going next month, so I'm hoping the weather will be mild so it isn't too warm for us.

I wear my 15lb boy all the time, and DD is 30lbs and still rides in the Ergo occasionally. I highly recommend baby wearing!

It has been years since we had an infant we used a carrier for in Disney but at the time they had us removed her from the carrier (I used a Beco Butterfly or a ring sling) the vast majority of the time. I specifically remember she needed to be sitting on the seat (she was almost 11 months) on RR and a few others. I believe she was able to stay in the carrier on POTC and IASW but i can't remember the rest of them.

The only attraction I remember being asked to take my DS out of the carrier for was Roger Rabbit. They wanted him to sit on the seat, but he was 2 months old so I just skipped that one! We took turns taking my older DS on attractions like the rockets and Autopia that the baby couldn't go on. I used a moby and it worked out great! Also, take advantage of the baby care centers. They have really nice padded changing tables and private nursing area and a microwave. They also sell baby items if you loose or forget something. Have a great time! :goodvibes

I am trying hard to remember what the issue was way back when. I think the reason was they wanted baby to be positioned facing out and not toward me like she was in the carrier we had. I know for sure there were a few rides that it wasn't an issue on. For most of the rides it was not an issue to hold her though.

And yes, baby wearing is awesome! We rarely used a stroller with any of the kids. I still wear my 5 year old on my back when we are hiking and she gets tired. I make Dh carry the backpack that has snacks and water though...that thing gets heavy!!

Thanks everyone! We are still bringing our double stroller (City Select) so both kids have a place to rest, but I think DS will be in the carrier for the most part. I loved the Baby Care center, I used it when we went and DD was 14months and needed a quiet place to nurse or eat (in the high chair). Definitely plan to use it again both for baby and also their toddler toilet.

Training toilets are so nice! We used those for a long time because youngest DS was scared of the auto flush toilets.

I was actually joking. ;)
although quite honestly it does look painful.

Exactly^^^

I have a 6moDD and am a local APholder. I think the only rides I haven't tried to take her on are Astro Orbiters and the similar ones in DCA. Everything else, I was allowed to wear her in my Ergo, which faces in. She's been 5 or 6 times now and I have not experienced any different.

Have so much fun!!

Ah yes I remember her having to come out for RR as well

awesome, thanks! I don't really care one way or the other about RR. If he is awake, no biggie taking him out and he would probably enjoy watching the ride.

I know for sure we had to take my baby out of the Beco for RR. I think we were also asked for TSMM but I might be wrong, my husband was wearing him when we were at TSMM so I didn't pay as close attention. We did not take him on Astro Orbiter.

I wore my son on TSMM for sure. They checked to make sure that it was clasped and secured. This made me guess that a clasped carrier (like an Ergo) is fine to wear on rides, but something like a Moby would not be.

Yes, they have to be able to sit on the seat on Roger Rabbit, but that is the only ride I have had that happen.

I recall us taking turns having to ride/play TSMM one handed which we would only have done if she couldn't be worn...amazing how quickly we can forget specifics!

I know I wore my then 2-yr-old on IASW and a couple others I can't remember. I also wore him on that raft thing to Tom Sawyer island and while on the island.

If I can fit me and a big 2 yr old on those rides, you guys should have no problem wearing littler ones :goodvibes
