Do or have any of you worn your little one while at the parks?
We have a beco that I love to use for a back carry.

I have worn a sling.That worked well. I have also worn an Ultimate Baby Wrap- way too hot. I did try a snugly but it was uncomfortable on my little one's legs. My only request is that if you put your child in the backpack and they are screaming and crying please take him out and hold him. Also don't keep him in it all day long. I saw a family like this one trip and I wanted to take the baby out and hold him. I thought it was cruel what they did.

I used an Ergo in the back carry when DD was about 18 months old. The first day we took a stroller, too, but the second day we left the stroller at the hotel. The Ergo was so much easier.

We were there in February and I thought the Ergo was great, although we did get a little sweaty with body-to-body contact. If it was super hot anyway, that might be really uncomfortable, but it wasn't bad for us. Good luck!

When DS#1 was 3 and DS#2 was 7 months, I only brought the single stroller. I thought DS#1 would barely use it since we're active and he didn't use a stroller at home. I thought he might need a break from time to time, so I brought the baby Bjorn. I basically wore DS#2 75% of the time. It was fine.

I brought a sling when DS#2 was 15 months old and I was very pregnant. He used it a bit then too, always on the side.

Each time it worked well, especially in long lines.

I have done a ton of babywearing at Disney. When ds was 7 mos we went to DL for 2 days. he spent both days in either my Babyhawk or Kozy (mei tais). We did WDW when he was 20 mos and he spent about 75% of his time in the Beco and the rest in the stroller. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beco at Disney. It is so darn comfy. I'm a fan of the back carry. Works great in line, easy to get on and off. The other thing I love about the Beco is that you can fold it up, snap it together and it doesn't take up tons of room.

Contrary to what you have seen, many many children love to be carrier in a sling. My ds spent 75% of his time in the Beco b/c he wanted to be in there. He wanted to be held by me rather than spending his time in the stroller.

What are you talking about? I never said anything about babies not liking the sling. My first sentence states that I use one. I said I saw a child crying in a backpack carrier. Even still- whatever you use if your kid is crying take him/her out and hold them. Keeping your child anywhere they are not comfortable for your own convenience is cruel to me. I never even mentioned a stroller.

You said it was cruel that they left their baby in a backpack the entire trip. Forgive me if I misunderstood that statement. That is why I said that some babies are actually happy in a carrier all day long.

My apologies I wasn't clear. One family stuck out in my mind that I haven't forgotten because the child was so unhappy. They were on the boat from WL to MK and their child cried the whole way in the carrier and instead of taking him out and cuddling him they left him in. It was heartwrenching and I wanted to hold him myself to make him feel better. Later that day at MK I see this family again outside of POTC and they are having a rest/snack. Everyone is taking a break (they had other kids also) and they just took the backpack off and stood it on the floor and didn't even let the kid out. The child's legs looked very uncomfortable and he clearly wanted out. He could only stay in one position. That's why I thought it was cruel. To this day I remember that little boy.

OP, I've used a mei tai (front, facing me carry) for our first trip when DS was 17 months, and the trip a year later I used a back carry with the Ergo. Well, both trips were to Disneyland, so not exactly the same.

I love babywearing, and being at Disney didn't change that!

Since you have a Beco, I wanted to make sure you knew that they had a recall on the Butterfly. If you didn't know and you have one, read about the retro-fitting here!

I went last year when my DD was 14 months and will be going this year exactly one year later. Last year, I carried her in a Hiphugger because of her size it was the most comfortable and convenient at the time. This year, I'm bringing a Hotsling.

The beco is a SSC so there is no frame to it. The great thing about the beco is I can wear him on my front or hip or even back.
We try to make sure he is happy know matter how being carried.

Yes one of my pet peeves is crying babies with parents who do nothing about it.

Please .. PLEASE .. PLEASE!!! No one mentionined it and it kinda concerned me but sunscreen is a must!! i cant tell you how many little baby legs and faces i have seen burnt because they had no way to shade themselves in the slings/backpacks. I would suggest a floppy hat with an elastic string and a good sunscreen .. dont forget the little feet too dangling out there.Florida is brutal and we been hitting 90s already. have a great trip , Better to play it safe then have a cripsy baby crying all week because he/ she got burnt

True about the sunscreen. My DD usually wears a floppy hat anyway, but we were careful about slathering on the sunscreen. I sunburn easily myself, so I don't forget about sunscreen -- but since you can't see baby very well in the back carry, it would be easy to forget until too late. (I don't think the amount of sun exposure is much different than a stroller -- those canopies are practically worthless, but it could make a difference in how easy the problem is to see. Sunscreen is equally important no matter how you're carrying the baby.)

One of my most favorite memories is carrying around my dd in the baby bjorn one trip - I loved having her so close! Now she is 9 and all legs and I can barely lift her so I treasure that time. I have seen many little ones being carrried in slings and other front carriers - not so many carriers but maybe I haven't noticed...??

Baby Bjorn for my babies! They loved it and so did I. No muss, no fuss, and I didn't have to wake them / take them out to ride the rides (IASW, TTA, etc)

I know my wife wore our infant in Italy in April and she thought it was pretty hot... I would imagine early September and Florida heat would be... uncomfortable. Not sure about the backpack carriers, would probably be "less hot" but still warm.

The other thing to think about is sun exposure. With a stroller you can usually put on a good sunshade and keep the child out of the sun, so if they fall asleep napping or what not you can still stay mobile in the park. If you are carrying/slinging the child I would be worried about sun exposure and how exactly you would "cover them up" without "burning them up"

We are headed to WDW at the same time as you! We should meet up
