Baby Swap?

HI all,

My husband and I are planning yet another trip to the world! What can I say, it's cheaper then renting a cottage at Cape Cod! (We're from MA) Anyway, our boys will be 7 and 11 but we will also have an infant by then. I was wondering, with respect to the baby swap, if my husband and I do the swap with the infant, is it possible for the boys to ride a second time with the other parent?

Yes, in a way. When my wife and I asked to do the baby swap, they simply gave the parent waiting a free fast pass. So you'ld have to get in the fast pass line to ride again. But the fast pass that was given to us was good for up to 3 people! Also it did not have an expiration time, but it was good for only that day.

We got these for Space Mt, Splash Mt, Tower of Terror, Rock'n Rollercoaster, Test Track, & Misson Space.

When we did Primeval Whirl & Dinosaur however, they had the waiting parent and kids wait in a special area until the other parent was done, then you boarded.

Is this fast pass way new? I asked about baby swap awhile ago and no one mentioned that the waiting parent gets a fast pass. I thought you could board right away when the other rider is done.

The fast pass/board right away issue depends on the ride. That is one thing I wish WDW would standardize (realizing that you can't offer a fast pass for rides that don't have it!!) As it stands now, you have to ask a CM to explain the process at every ride.

On our last trip (6/03), we had 3 adults, a 5yo who could ride most things and a 3yo who couldn't ride much. They always let at least 2 people ride the 2nd time. Example: When two adults and the 5yo got off a ride, they would let the adult who hadn't ridden yet take another person, sometimes 2, with them (who by defalt, had just gotten off the ride).

OK, that was probably really confusing, but in my expereince, the answer is YES! your older kids will get to 'go again'.

The Child Swap pass has no expiration date and could be used on another day, another month even, according to the cast member at Mission Space. I liked the way Mission Space exited into a play area instead of a shop. Good for those of us waiting with toddlers.

Disney is great with the baby swap and one of your other kids can ride again, NO Problem! You may get strange looks from some guests about using the swap, but it is there for a reason and don't feel guilty about it at all! Enjoy!

Is there a list somewher of ways of baby swaps for different rides? I remember test track, they gave you a card right in the begining and you went through the line together, then the baby swapped people went to a separate room to wait. What about the other rides? these are the rides in question for our family...

We just used Baby Swap last week on TT. Outside they gave us a fast pass sort of thing good for up to 3 people. They would be allowed to enter into the fast pass line w/ it. There was no special room or anything that they went into. They said their overall wait was about 10-15 minutes w/ the pass.

Also, it's good for ANY 3 people. We had a group of 12. 3 adults who hadn't rode yet--- sat out w/ the baby then used it together.

The Baby Swap method is the ONLY thing that Universal Islands of Adventure does better than Disney IMO.

I'm sure it's because IoA is a new park, so the ride entrance and exits are designed with a play area for people doing the baby swap. Baby swaps just didn't happen when I was a kid - I don't think my poor mom got to ride anything for about 10 years! I would think that as Disney builds new attractions, they will integrate very well-themed waiting areas. It sounds like they've already started with Mission Space
