Does this work the same way at DLR as at WDW (they give you a FP for up to3 people to use after the 1st group rides)? And does it only work if the child isn't tall enough or will it work if they just don't want to ride it?

At DLR they will give you a child swap pass, I think it's only good for 2 people total. Some people have said that the CM will want to see the little one to make sure you need the swap pass, we have never experienced this. The swap cards don't have a date/time on them so don't have to be used right away. It will vary depending on the ride, but some rides they will have you take the swap pass through the FP line. Space Mt, they will have you enter through the exit. Just ask the CM outside the line. Combine the child swap pass with the FP and it's even better!

It's only good for 2 people and it's good all day - each ride is a different color but I don't know if they change colors everyday - otherwise you could save it if not used for another day. I agree with a prior poster about combing it with regular FP's so more people can ride or ride twice. I have had CM's ask to see my party even though they see the kid in the stroller.

Ooh, tempting. My munchkin is 6, so yes she's potty trained, but she's a handful. Sometimes she thinks she's 16, so jumping ahead to 21 might be ideal.

It may vary - but we have used the swap on TSMM and there isn't even a height restriction on that one. I don't know if there is an official rule - but I can't imagine that they wouldn't let you use it if she doesn't want to ride it.

He is kinda high maintanence,likes paint-ball,target shooting (high caliber) but doesn't drive yet. (go figure) Can fix your computer in a heart beat though.
Your DD sounds like my G-daughter,6 going on 13.

We visited DL February 2009. My dd who was tall enough did not want to ride Space Mountain. We had to wait on line with our entire party. When we got to the loading area, I was sent off through the exit with my dd and 2 passes. When the rest of our party came off the ride. My ds and I went back in the exit and were loaded immediately. I did ask the CM at the entrance for the child swap tickets. He told me we had to wait on-line. I think that was a silly way to do it but did not make a fuss since dd wanted to be with her cousins.

That's strange - we have never had to wait in line with our entire party...depends on the CM, I guess.

Uh oh - this could be a huge problem for us! The WDW swap pass allows me to return with BOTH of our older boys to ride. (Actually, it allows you to return with up to 3 extra people.)

So under the DL system, am I going to have to choose which of my boys to take when I go on each swap pass ride? Is the only solution to get an extra FP so that both can come with me? That would be workable, but it means we have no Buzz FPs for our pre-schooler to use while his big brothers are on the big kid rides.

My 6 year old still isn't tall enough for Indy (46 inch requirement *yet Dinosaur @ AK ~ which has the same ride track is only 40 inches ) ~ she is kinda short though....

We parent swapped almost every ride on our trip this month.
To confirm the cards are only good for 2 people. We had 5 in our group (one baby) so 2 of us rode the ride on a fast pass and then the next 2 would go on a parent swap. We were NEVER asked to see the entire party - usually the others were no-where near and we never had to all stand in line together. Oh and I guess because we had the baby it didn't really matter BUT there was a lot of things that our middle son didn't want to go on even though he was tall enough so our oldest rode twice once with each parent. On occasion when they both really wanted to go at the same time we just used another fast pass with the parent swap.
